  1. i told my friends one at a time...starting with my friends who already had WLS...i wanted their input, and confirmation that they had no regrets...my friends were ALL supportive. There were some who were apprehensive but supportive nonetheless. My family was a little more difficult...my family who work in healthcare, were easier. The most difficult were my parents. My dad TOTALLY supported to me. My mom cried when I first told her....she tried to change my mind each step of the way. I was sleeved on 4/11 and I guess after doing her own research and realizing that I wasn't going to budge, she finally started supporting me and actually stayed with me a few days after surgery. My friends and family were and enormous support and still are. I couldn't imagine doing this alone.

    Compications

What would you say is the leading culprit: 1-not adhering to the diet 2-Inexperience/negligence/skill level of the doctor 3-the overall health of the patient 4-just plain old chance, luck of the draw (or lack there of)

    Pain

So I was sleeved on 4/11 and this morning I am in pain. First it was on the right side now its on the left...I dont know if its gas, or muscles tightening up....it kinda feels like a charlie horse in stomach muscles but if i try to stand straight up it hurts....i am walking hunched over or if I lay on the couch stretched out it feels better...i have been massaging it and it feels better when I do that....why am I regressing...when will this pain be over its not the direct incision but the area surrounding the incision Could it be gas

    Returning to Work??

I took 3 weeks and I am glad I did...i couldnt imagine returning on Monday....i have a primarily desk job but someone is always asking me to help them with something or I have meetings to go to and I just need one more week of rest. Also i start purees on Sunday (was originally scheduled to start on my first day back to work) and this gives me a week or so of adjustment time to "eating' with my new stomach.
  19. i was told no exercise other than walking for 6 weeks

    Hungry, or not...after surgery

i was sleeved on the 11th....i can honestly say I am not physically hungry...i think what I am feeling is head hunger...i am bored with liquids...and i see commercials and see friends/family eating and salivate...but i am not hungry...Its weird but prior if I went a whole day without food I would get a wicked headache...i honestly haven't gotten a headache since day 2 of my pre-op liquid diet

    Pain

thanks Kat..i am inclined to think its gas because its more so under the rib cage...and when i massage it I get minor relief....i had my follow up on wednesday and was told everything looked fine. i did sleep on my stomach last nite...maybe it was too soon
  23. my bmi was 49 at the time of surgery and I was done laparoscopically with no issues...i had a 2 week pre-op liquid diet
