I did not see a difference in my clothing until I lost around 60 pounds. Be patient and keep doing the right things. It will happen.

I traveled 4 hours by car 8 days post op with zero issues. Have fun!

The Emory Crawford Long Facility is great! I had and alblation there in 2007 and VSG in 2011. Nothing at all negative to report during my stays. I have no knowledge about the surgeon you are considering though.

I ask for a to go box when I am full and that lets them know I liked it well enough to want again later.
Also, you might try getting a 16 year old boy to join you for dinner. My son loves that I do not finish anything. He has been batting clean up for me.

With my insurance, once the requirements were met the file could be sent in. I was able to send 2 items in early -the psych eval and the five year weight history. They told to wait and send everything else in at one time.

Very exciting ... congrats!

I had two NSVs:
1) I was able to kneel all through the Catholic Mass without hurting or leaning against the seat. In fact there was 2 inches between my butt and the seat.
2) A legally blind lady at my church asked me if I had lost weight.
Yay sleeve!

I was sick with the flu before surgery too. I went to the doctor and explained the situation. And that I would not reschedule so it was her job to get me well before hand. She gave me a shot and gave me meds (not on my surgeon's don't take in the 2 weeks before surgery list). It worked. I was so much better in operation day. I had no fever by then and just a little nasal drainage. Good luck to you!

Try something with oil or lotion.

My surgeon wanted to use a drain, but I asked him not too due to my allergy to plastics. Really I am allergic to methyl methacrylate a polymer in the plastic that leaches out. He agreed so ... no drain for me.

My doctor didn't say anything about straws and I use them all the time.

Welcome to the site! You are doing the right thing. Ask questions and read everything you can to prepare yourself.
My story is not typical. I was in the hospital 2 nights, had no pain, could walk normally a few hours post op. I did have nausea for the first 4 days. It was bad at first and then tapered off some. I was a little sleepy for the first 6 days, but on day 8, I traveled by car 300 miles to my father's 80th birthday. I went back to work at 11 days post op.
Did you get the list of items to take to the hospital yet? LilmissDiva pinned one for us.
I hope this helps!

I started shedding at 4 months post op and it is beginning to stop around 8 months. I put a screen over the tub drain to catch the hair because I didn't want a clog. I have a lot of hair and it is not noticeable at all.

Crossing fingers for you!!

What bad luck. I feel for you and hope it helped some to share it with us. What is the old expression ... sorrows shared are halved and blessing shared are doubled.
Unlike your dress rehearsal, I hope your real surgery date everything goes very well for you.
Hugs
