    EGD

My surgeon requires an EGD. He performs it himself so he can see the lay of the prior to surgery.
  7. You can only get unjury online. I was really hungry on my preop liquids -especially the first day. I even had a hunger headache. I just kept thinking of another member of this site that gained on the preop diet and the surgeon postponed her surgery. Stick with it -You can do this!

    Sleeved on Monday :)

So glad to hear you are home and fairing pretty well! I asked my doctor for no drain tube because I am allergic to latex and he agreed -No Tube for me! I was so glad not to have to deal with that thing. Most people have similar experiences as you are having. Concentrate on getting fluids in, walking, and resting! Hugs

I am not changing my mind

I have not been banded so I don't know how that feels post op. But I can tell you that some people feel no pain after VSG. I was one of them. I had some nausea and a little soreness (like I did a lot of sit-ups), but no pain. I could walk with no issues except for carrying around the IV pole and sporting the fashionable hospital gown (with a second one over my back like a robe). It might not be as bad as you are envisioning. You can do this!

    Hello, New user from CT

Welcome to VST! This has been a very informative site for me. I think the wonderful members here (although not doctors) can help more than the doctors in a lot of areas. We are at varying stages of living with VSG. I am only 15 days post op but have been reading posts on here for awhile. If you have questions ask them. We are all here for help or to offer help to others.
  12. I am very happy for you. It was hard with the cancellation earlier but it sure looks like you are doing great!

    Another silly supervised diet question...

For my insurance it was 6 months of Dr supervised weight loss visits. Taking your information and applying it would be: April, May, June, July, August, and September. For a total of 6 calendar months. I hope this helps.

    OH NO!!

It is routine to take a biopsy. They took one on me. I think it is to test for H. Pylori. I did not have it, but if you did they want you on medicine prior to surgery. It is a condition that might indicate that your stomach could be prone to ulcers. If I remembered my facts correctly.
