I am 1 week post op and have been on full liquids for 4 days. Today is day 5 of 12 until I can go to pureed foods. I agree it is very hard and I would love to take a bite of something but haven't and won't. I am looking forward to having mashed potatoes this time next week. I do not like the Protein Shakes either so I have been trying to get my Protein in through greek yogurt. Yes I have felt hungry especially when my family is having "regular" meals like chicken parm or pizza, etc...I keep thinking to myself that I've had plenty of those foods which got me into this situation. Best of luck to you!

Congrats! I do not feel like I have lost anything : ( I go back on Monday to have my drain removed. Thank goodness! How are you doing with getting all your fluids in?
-
I was sleeved on Monday at 8 am and only now starting to feel somewhat human. Agree with you about the headaches. I have them everyday but I think it's because I am not getting enough nutrients but I'm no dr. I have the drain in and cannot wait until Monday at 2 pm to have it removed. The nausea was awful and I still have it so I take the meds every 12 hrs to reduce it. For the headaches I have been taking 2 Tylenol and it has helped. I have tried the pressure points at my temple but no good. Glad to hear you are doing well. I will definitely try the pressure points on the hand. Thanks for the tip!

Mine are young teenagers but they are not grown by any means and it's quite normal to be emotional. You love them. That is one the reasons you are doing this. Hang in there. I have faith that we will all be fine! Think good thoughts about how amazing this is going to be. You will be a new person literally. I'm praying for you!

That's great! Best of luck to both of us tomorrow. Hopefully we can track our progress together and be thrilled to be a good loser. Lol. I have to be there at 6 am but surgery is at 8. Fingers crossed and many prayers that our surgeons are at there best tomorrow : )

To CBL. You will be fine. I had that discussion with my husband a few weeks ago. He was so uncomfortable but I needed him to know what to do etc....if anything went wrong. That made me feel much better as well as reading this site. I feel like I'm a stalker on here but these people are so amazing and supportive and giving real life advice a they have been there dine that. I dont want you to think I telling you how to feel or brushing you off. It is quite normal to be anxious. All the best!

My dr has 4 phases. Phase one is 2 days of clear fluids. Phase 2 is full bariatric liquids. This is so you get more nutrients while your new stomach or pouch is healing. Phase 3 is purreed foods after 12 days this is so you have some texture in your diet while your still healing. Phase 4 soft solid foods this is after 2 weeks of phase 3. It was expressed many many many times during the class that we should not advance too early as you can get yourself into trouble and have to start all over again so you can heal. Yikes! Best of luck. When is your surgery?

Not going to Mexico but I am getting sleeved tomorrow am. Best of luck to you!!!!!! Can't wait to hear how you're doing after. I think it's normal to be nervous. This is life changing and all for the better!

Aw that is so sweet of your husband. Mine is taking off tomorrow and Tuesday. I have been getting things done for 2 weeks like cleaning out the garage food shopping for the family ordered and received my Protein packets Vitamins, etc.....laundry yesterday. My oldest child is home for spring break so he will be able to help me if I need him. At least that is what I am counting on. Lol. Where are you having your surgery done? I am 8 am also

I too am getting sleeved tomorrow! Best of luck to you! I am prepared as I can be. Well at least I think so. Lol. I don't know about you but I have found this site to be simply AWESOME!!!!!!!

The countdown is on! I am less than 24 hrs from becoming sleeved. Had a dream last night that the surgeon came to talk to me and asked if I was ready. I said yes without any reservation. I'm taking that as a good sign that I am : ) this day can go either way, very long or very short. Either way tomorrow at 8 am it is. Again I am so thankful for this site and all the information that has been posted. I feel less anxious. Wish me luck!

Great ideas. I will download the app today so I can start tracking asap. My surgery is Monday 3/7. Thanks for asking such great questions. I completely agree with you about this site. It has answered questions I didn't even know I had

food funerals is a great way to put it! My last supper before I started my pre-op liquid diet was at outback - 9oz filet (which I have never ever gotten before), a baked potato with butter (never ordered that before either) and green Beans. I ate EVERY bite on my plate! It was so yummy but I totally overdid it and felt so full I needed a feather. LOL I think it's totally normal.

I'm not afraid it won't work but I do understand your feelings as I have seen folks who have had some type of weight loss surgery, been successful and only for them to gain it back within a few years. I am going into this with a positive attitude that I am changing MY life for ME. It's my turn to put myself first. Don't get me wrong. I have a spouse and children, work full time, volunteer but this is totally for ME and not about anyone else. I am very much looking forward to my new self. Agree with the comments below as well. We need to work it for ourselves and be confident in our decision. All the best to you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this! Wow I have so many! Let's see -
getting off the meds for high blood pressure
not being ashamed of the way I look
being more social - have a lot of friends but am embarrassed of how I look so make excuses to not go
shop in a regular store
not having a X or W in my clothing sizes
crossing my legs!
like the wearing a belt some others have posted - didn't think of that one myself but I'm using it
wearing a dress - agree with the other who said they haven't worn one for quite sometime - me too!

I am Monday March 7th too and I am much calmer than I was earlier this week. Right now I am looking forward to Monday to start on my "new life" of no more high blood pressure and overall better health. It helps to read all the posts and great overall support on this site. I am so glad to have found it and all the folks on here. Best of luck to you and I hope to hear from you after your VERY successful surgery! Go March Sleevers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was told that 3 weeks ago when I had my class about the pre-op diet. It did scare me a little but not enough to stop me from going through with the surgery. My surgery is schedule for Monday 3/7 at 8 am. The nutritionist and nurse told us all that as long as we are getting our Protein and Vitamins it shouldn't happen and if so be minimal. Good luck to you! I hope you make the decision that is right for you!
So I know we all go through this. My surgery date is April 18th. This may sound very vain but I am absolutely terrified of losing my hair so much that it has me seriously considering not getting surgery. All I have had this entire time of being 150lbs overweight is my hair. Its the one thing I always felt good about. I do hair for a living and its making me crazy. Now I don't need someone telling me that if that's what's holding me back maybe I'm not ready. So u can keep that comment to urself. We all have things we are scared of and this is mine. Anyone else super worried about this?
-
Great response! Agree. We are all routing for you as we've all been there someway or another.
I'm sure you are confused ... we all have a variety of reasons why we became overweight. Thankfully, you are not alone in that!
Did you meet with this person prior to surgery? If so, how did you get along? If good, try to think of this as an opportunity to grow and learn more about yourself. You can't stay with 12 foods for the rest of your life. You didn't have surgery to be a prisoner to food (you already were that).
If you did see them & did not get along, do you have options for another person to see? It will take some time to figure out what is going on with you and your emotions/thoughts. You need to find someone you can trust & really talk to about your fears and concerns.
Good luck! Keep us posted. I'm routing for you!!!!!

Congratulations! Thank you VERY much for posting as I am having mine done on Monday 3/7. Another March date. I have been so anxious this week about the surgery but reading all the posts on this site does make me feel better. I look forward to also being on the losers bench starting next week and keep up with all on here. Thanks again!

My surgery has been scheduled for March 7th and my anxiety level is rampin' up.
It does help to read all the success stories so y'all keep posting and I will keep reading.
I am right there with ya! My date is 3/7 too and I am so anxious it's crazy. I am very excited as well. I agree about reading all the posts on here. I am so glad to have found this site. Makes me feel so much better when I read folks success stories and questions and answers. Thank you all for posting!

I was sleeved on 3/7 and chose to use tylenol pm versus the pain meds to help with sleeping. I didn't want to nap during the day and not sleep at night. My bed too has a ton of pillows because of the drain.
