    sleeve reset was successful

I am 4 years post-op and have been slowly regaining weight over the past 12 months. I am now 20 pounds up and feeling again tired, discouraged and sad. My size 4 clothes are in a bag now, and my size 6 pants are now too tight. I cannot see myself buying or wearing size 8 again. It is hard to quick start it again...

    Strech Stomach

I agree with being kind to our sleeves. I regret so much what I have done ... And it makes it hard to control after you get into the habit of overeating again. Whatever happened it was because I was really overeating, pushing food down.

    Strech Stomach

Hi Fiddleman I was eating a lot. I was even massaging my stomach due to being in pain and overfull so to get to eat a bit more. I know it was not healthy... I knew I was going to gain some weight... However I thought I would loose the weight easily after vacation but the fact is that I lost control again and continued to gain weight. I will try the boot camp and hopefully it will help. I do not want to scare anyone, i just wanted to share my negative experience so other people may learn from that. These 13 extra pounds are being hard to loose.

    Strech Stomach

Well, What I know is that I can eat much more now than I could when my I reached the goal weight. I did see the images of my tests and the stomach was enlarged. As for poor food choices, yes Occasionally I do, but my problem was always the overeating and that is why I had surgery. If I had that level of control I would not have needed the surgery in the first place. Now it is damage control time. Try to go back to goal weight, try to regain some restriction, etc. I will check the boot camp. Thanks everyone.

    Strech Stomach

I got the images and results from the endoscopy, ultrasound and mri and it do seem larger. Maybe not as before but yes I can eat waaay more and not feel stuffed. I am hoping there is a way to improve restriction again w/ surgery. Any advice (not judgemental) will be appreciated. Thanks

    Strech Stomach

I did not ask about how common it was but they did mention a few cases. I ahve gained 13 pounds since that vacation. i was overeating and even massaging my stomach when feeling stuffed to be able to eat a bit more. I was returning to my country after several years, missing the food and the companionship o f friends and family... I knew i was doing wrong but I thought it was jut go back to controlled eating and it would be fine. The fact is that i gained 6 pounds on that vacation and i have gained another 7 pounds since then to a total of 13 pounds and it has been extremely hard to loose again and to eat normally again. Any advice on how to make the pouch smaller again will be appreciated. I am feeling not in control again and really descouraged.

    Strech Stomach

Last Summer I had an emergency out of the country that required an endoscopy. After the exams they told me that my stomach was back to normal size. I was devastated. It was only after 3 weeks of eating more food during a vacation. They also told me a few cases of people who had surgery twice and the stomach still stretched, :-(
  10. I have gained 7 pounds over the pat 2 months. I am eating much more and mostly carbs. Today I start the 5 day boot camp diet to try to regain control.
  11. I went alone to Dr. kelly. For me it was good to be alone...i rested a lot and had all the support from the nurses. I had my computer to skipe the family and kept them updated, just in case. I did research all the details before and i was feeling confident in my doctor and his team. I did follow reccomendations to avoid any complications and my husband was ready to come urgently if necessary. I had the option to bring a friend with me but i am glad i did not as i really felt the need to rest, rely on the professionals. I felt safe, well cared, supported all the time and had the very caring support from Trish, dr. Kellys assistant. The nurses were very caring, patient, checked on me regularly and came to the bedroom always a second ate i called (first night i called them a lot) and kept the nausea and pain at acceptable levels. They gave me a letter to get some assistance in the airport but that only heed after the check in, until then i had to pull my luggage/ cart but it was fine as i kept things to the minimaly essential. I kept my cel phone on me and my husband knew of every step, specially in the last days when we went out shopping, sight seeing, taking cabs, etc. When i was there the were other people alone and we ended up getting to know each other, supporting each other.

    Watching Ppl Eat Is Gross

I had this for quite some time. once we were at ihop and I actually had to go to the washroom as I got sick by watching my family eat 3eggs, 4 toasts, potato, ham... Argh. Now, 14 months later, it no longer bothers me but at some point it was really bad to see how much people eat, and how much i was eating before surgery.
  13. I am 11 pounds from my goal and I have to confess that I am eating carbs, chocolates, etc (as well as protein, salads, fruit...). I continue to loose weight . I do not see that I will be able to eat more in the future than what I am eating now. My fear is that i will continue to loose weight and become too thin. My question is: Are you having difficulties in stopping the weight loss or maintaining a healthy weight? Any tips? Thanks
  14. I just want to voice my discontentment with these adds that appear in the middle of our messages/posts. They are sooooo inapropriate. They are not even related to VSG but to other weight loss procedures that most of us know will not work. Vote and voice your opinion. Thanks

    GOING INSANE, PLEASE HELP!!!!

I know how hard it is. It took "years" for 2 weeks to go by. It was hard to wait but it was worth every second. Just hang in there, distract your mind, write a blog or journal, anything that will help you go though the wait time. Soon your surgery day will be there.
  16. May you could add an option for none as most people do not gain weight. I have gained none. It does fluctuate 2 pounds close to the mentrual period as normal but it goes away in a couple of days.
  17. I lost a lot of hair (still loosing) but it is regrowing fast after i started high doses of Biotin. I can see all this new hair coming and soon (I hope) I will have a full mane again.
  18. I think it is too soon a youir stomach is not even healed yeat. At this stage I was still in light liquids. We all know alcohol is irritating to mucosas so I would wait a bit more, perhaps until you are well adjusted to most foods, and try it at home just in case it hits you badly.
  19. Congratulations! I wish you a good recovery. Follow your doctor's intructions, drink, rest, and give yourself time to heal. The results will be worth any discomfort. take care.
  20. It is been 6 months since VSG and for the first time I did not reach my goal. I was expecting to be 137lbs today but I am still 143lbs. I am eating so poorly lately. Chocolates, sweets, sodas...I have tried to do the pouch test twice but then i postpone it to the next day. Even my Protein intake is at the minimum now. Can someone please scold me, give me a good slap to remind me on how i got obese in the fisrt place and how much effort i put into losing the first 50lbs? Why I am getting into these old habits if I know they will take me to a place I do not want to be?
  21. My recovery was great. Acceptable levels of pain, discomfort and anusea very well managed by the health team. being alone was alos managed well with the support of the team and regular constact with my kids. The worst was day 2 when I felt very down. I was so down I could not put in words what i was really feeling or why I was so sad. I still do not know what was that... anestesia, medication, body reaction to the trauma, fear ... whatever was that was gone by day 4, thanks God!

I hate to say this but...

I can totaly relate to the "honeymoon over" concept. I have lost 53 pounds to das to date and by now i should have lost an additional 10 pounds should I not be snacking and eating junk again. I am not focusing on proteins as i should I I certainly overeat most of the time to the point of feeling uncomfortable. I planned to do the pouch test this week but then postponed it to next week. I continue to loose weight but very slowly. I hope i will be able to resume eating small portions and more frequentlty as i have definetely fallen into the old habits again.

    Longterm Weight Loss Stories???

This is not a response to the post. It is actually an off topic question. I noticed your post and several others are showing an add for slimband.com in the middle of the message. Is it a virus, a paid add or something that the members are adding to the posts? I am not saying anything aginst or for it, just want to understand as I am getting these in the posts and i had not seen them before. Thanks
