  1. I recognized your name from the local board. We have the same surgeon- I'm GIGI over there.

  2. You are going to be fine. You are just nervous and with good reason- because this is your first surgery- but I'm sure you are going to be just fine and we will see you on the losers bench. You've worked real hard to get to this point and tomorrow is YOUR day! I'm so excited for you. Tomorrow when you get to the hospital and meet the anesthesiologist tell them you are nervous and it's your first surgery. They may give you something to help with the jitters. We'll be waiting here for updates when you are able.
  3. I'm so full and I haven't even eaten anything today- getting ready to drink an isopure just because I NEED protein but- wonder if I wil never feel hungry again?

    8 month post op

You look absolutely fantastic. Way to Go! :Banane27:
  5. Congrats to all getting their surgery soon. I just had mine last week- it certainly is a flurry as the date gets closer with the pre op diet and getting things settled at home and/or work- it goes quickly tho. I'm very excited for you all. :cheer2:

My deepest condolences on the loss of your sister. Wishing you continued healing and strength as you get back on track with your weight loss and health changes.

Welcome - both of you- Congrats on your sleeve and also the lbs. shed. Yay .:clap2:
  8. I found that I could put almost a full scoop of unjury powder into a 6 oz container of carbmaster yogurt. I can't eat 6 oz of yogurt at one time tho- so I just split it and store in another container so I can have more later in the day. Unjury vanilla protein has 20 grams of protein per scoop.

    Pre-Op Usuals

My pre op was 7 days of clear liquids- That's water, low sodium, fat free broth, Sugar Free Popsicles and Sugar Free Jello. 6oz Carbmaster yogurt with protein no more than 2 per day and sugar free tea, coffee, crystal light, and other diet non carbonated beverages with no fat, no sugar.
  10. I'm 3 days post op- and I'm having one of those days today. I feel like I'm drowning in here- my stomach is sooo full and sloshy- a few times with out even burping- the water I drank just rose right back up in to the back of my throat..eww.. but I'm definitely feeling FULL. I took a break from water and forced myself to eat a few Popsicles because I don't want to get dehydrated. Hope you get to feeling better.
  11. You must be inadvertently related to me- wonder if we share the same sister in law.. hahaha Don't you love how a little honesty- just weeds out those overly nosy inlaws?

    Surgery is tomorrow!

Good luck to those of you having surgery- Will be thinking of you and waiting for updates. I'm so happy for you- it will be over before you know it.
  13. I guess I'm feeling a little fuzzy this morning. I want to take a shower and wash my hair and I remember my doctor said I could do that - he said tomorrow..when you take a shower.. as I was being discharged.. I'm trying to remember what he said about this dressing over my drain incision. I think he said to take it off- and to be honest it's coming off already on one side and I can see that some drainage has taken place but- I can't remember if he said to redress it- or just leave it off exposed to air. Anyone have suggestions- if I can't recall or find his instructions with my paper work- I will call much later this morning-
  14. Thanks everyone- that's exactly what I did and when I called him- he said that was absolutely perfect!

Ohhhhh all of those sound really good. Can't wait to try those suggestions. Thanks
  16. You would need to ask your insurance company how many appeals they offer but I'm aware they often they want the info within a specific time framelike as an example 10 days - to add to current request but as an example- 30 days with an appeal. Every insurance company is different those examples are for mine insurance company. Stay strong and focused even if it takes a bit of time. Keep us updated. Hope all goes well.
  17. Congrats! Will keep you in thought. Keep us updated. :woot:
  18. Oh! I remember feeling that way last week! Hang in there- almost done. I'm day 3 post op and have been trying to get all my fluids in- Not hungry at all. Will be thinking of you and wishing you the very best- keep us updated!

    Is this normal?

Aren't you a bit worried about eating things you "shouldn't" be eating?
  20. It's 3:55 am- my first night back home from the hospital- I'm up.. I barely slept for more than 1 hour stretches post op until last night- I slept from 11pm - 3am.
  21. I'm 3 days post op- Was released from the hospital yesterday. I don't have any regrets so far- I mean it hasn't been effort free by any means- but the struggles I've endured so far have been bearable- and everyday seems to get better.
  22. I came home from the hospital earlier today. I feel pretty good- no complaints to speak of except that I feel so full it's hard to get my fluids in- I did notice this evening that my lower abdomen seems swollen - more than it was when I got home- that's probably pretty normal considering we had surgery but I was wondering if anyone else noticed it when they got home? My incisions all look good from what I can see under the steri strips.
  23. Home from the Hospital - Feel pretty good- having trouble getting all my fluid down but sipping away.

    Doctors PISS ME OFF!

I wonder if your friend could call the insurance coordinator of the surgeons office and explain that he doesn't have a pcp and if they could give him a recommendation of a good pcp in the area who has referred patients to them? Is that considered- acceptable?
