  1. Just wanted to let you know they canceled my surgery yesterday. I showed up, they had me in my hospital gown and support hose, ready to give me pills for surgery when the Anethesia person came to check me and sent me home. I have a cold and he felt my lung congestion and cough would not allow them to administer anethesia properly and thus increased risk. So....back to the drawing board.

  3. The good news is when I weighed in yesterday I was down 25 pounds from my pre op diet! Am calling Dr. office today to talk about re-scheduling. My problem is I started a new job and haven't accumulated much sick leave or vacation time. The University closes over Christmas so I am off for 1 1/2 weeks right now and timing would have been great if surgery would have been as scheduled!

  5. How about those Chiefs!!

  6. Thanks Deb. I wish I was closer to KC as I live about 2 hours away. I am hoping I can find a support group locally or maybe start one. Maybe we can connect when I am up in KC for appointment with Dr. Hoehn. I would love to meet you. You are doing great!

  7. Am struggling thru my pre-op diet but doing okay. I have come down with a bad cold. Hoping they will still do surgery on Wednesday!

  8. Good news is when they weighed me in at hospital I was down 25 pounds from 2 week pre-op diet! I'm sure some is water weight as i had to drink a bottle Magnesium Citrate day before surgery to clean me out! Am going to try to stay focused and keep that 25 pounds off!

  9. Just a couple days until surgery! On the countdown now....

  10. Sounds like you are doing great. I have been stalled for the last several weeks. I was sooo good about staying away from carbs and have been eating some carbs lately so think that is probably why. I really need to get focused again!

  11. Will have to wait until I have enough sick leave/vacation time earned at my new job. Am hoping for March - but will have to check at work. Hope you had a great Christmas!

  12. Hey Natalie. How are you doing?

  13. Thanks Deb! Congratulations to you....I see you are now down 112 lbs. THAT'S AWESOME!!!!

  14. Hi Deb,

Thanks for checking in with me. You are doing awesome!! A size 14 and in onederland!!! You must be so proud of yourself...I am so happy for you! I have managed to gain back most of the 20 plus pounds lost on my presurgery diet....guess that is why we need the surgery....to save ourselves from gaining it back!!!

  15. I am trying to figure out when I will have enough sick/vacation days accumulated so I can have the surgery. I thinking it may not be until around Memorial Day in May, but am not sure yet. Take care and stay in touch.

  16. Survived Day 1 of Preop Diet, But Struggling....

  17. have been eating chicken and ground beef most the time. I don't seem to have any trouble with ground beef as I thought I might. We went to Mexican Restaurant and I ordered a taco with no lettuce. Dumped the filling out (ground beef and cheese) and added salsa. It was really good! I also had some of Arby's roast beef. It is sliced really thin and I did not have any trouble with that.
