I am getting ready to reschedule my surgery (first time around surgeon canceled as I had a really bad cold and they sent me home). Hi Deb! Just checkin in on you. You are doing great!!! Congrats on the 135 pounds gone. You must feel great. I am looking to schedule surgery again. Looking at April if Dr. H can do it. I wanted to ask you about acid reflux. Have you had any problems with it?

I am trying to figure out when I will have enough sick/vacation days accumulated so I can have the surgery. I thinking it may not be until around Memorial Day in May, but am not sure yet. Take care and stay in touch.

Thanks for checking in with me. You are doing awesome!! A size 14 and in onederland!!! You must be so proud of yourself...I am so happy for you! I have managed to gain back most of the 20 plus pounds lost on my presurgery diet....guess that is why we need the surgery....to save ourselves from gaining it back!!!

Good news is when they weighed me in at hospital I was down 25 pounds from 2 week pre-op diet! I'm sure some is water weight as i had to drink a bottle Magnesium Citrate day before surgery to clean me out! Am going to try to stay focused and keep that 25 pounds off!

I showed up, they had me in my hospital gown and support hose, ready to give me pills for surgery when the Anethesia person came to check me and sent me home. I have a cold and he felt my lung congestion and cough would not allow them to administer anethesia properly and thus increased risk. So....back to the drawing board.

Wanted to let you know they canceled my surgery yesterday because my lungs were too congested from my cold. The good news is when I weighed in yesterday I was down 25 pounds from my pre op diet! Am calling Dr. office today to talk about re-scheduling. My problem is I started a new job and haven't accumulated much sick leave or vacation time. The University closes over Christmas so I am...

My problem is I started a new job and haven't accumulated much sick leave or vacation time. The University closes over Christmas so I am off for 1 1/2 weeks right now and timing would have been great if surgery would have been as scheduled!

Welcome to the Forum Brownbear. I feel your pain. I am having many of the same thoughts you are having on the eve of my surgery. Scared, nervous and second guessing my decision. Just hoping I have the courage to follow through as I am tired of watching my kids ski down the mountain and not being able to participate, tired of having to turn down my girlfriend's offer of a long Saturday afternoon bike ride because I'm simply too fat. But....on the other hand, I can't imagine my life without my friend and comforter, food. You have come to a great forum. There is a wealth of information on this forum and many wonderful people to share their experiences and guide you on your way. Wishing you the best. Renee

Great story Kathy! 90 pounds is awesome. You are doing great. I am finally scheduled for surgery on Wednesday (22nd). Unfortunately I have come down with a cold so am hoping they will still do surgery. Am excited, nervous and not sure what else.... I remember when you were headed to Mexico and look at you now!!! Am struggling thru my pre-op diet but doing okay. I have come down with a bad cold. Hoping they will still do surgery on Wednesday!
