  1. Hey Natalie. How are you doing?

  2. I'm 4 weeks Post Op and feeling pretty good. I was surprised as recovery has not been as difficult as expected. No trouble eating or drinking as I have not throw up at all. No trouble with gas (other than in hospital) - not even taking a PPI for gas. I am tired at the end of the day, but other than that I'm feeling pretty normal. My only regret is that I did not do this sooner. I'm 50 years old and have struggled with my weight for a long time. I am down 42 pounds since I started Preop Diet 6 weeks ago and even though I have a long ways to go, I am already feeling and moving better! Good luck to you on your journey.

Sending my prayers your way. I hope she is feeling better soon. I am just sleeved also, so not much advice here. Hopefully Tiffy and some of the others have some words of wisdom.

    April Update from everyone

I'm doing pretty good in that I am losing steadily. I am now a little over 3 weeks post op and have not got sick yet! I am careful to eat slowly and chew my small portions really well. I had some pain in my left side last week and had to call the doctor's office. Nurse advised it sounded like muscle issues as they do a lot of work during surgery thru the left stomach side of your stomach. It is better, but still there. I need to do better on walking - I have a desk job and spend too much time sitting!! No regrets about surgery - I'm down 40 pounds and excited to be on my way to a healthier me!!

Of Egg Salad and Muscle Relaxers

Hey Virginia. I have been having that pain in my left side too. I called the doctor on Monday and nurse said it sounds muscular. I have been taking Tylenol and sleeping with a heat pad on my left side. It seems some better, but I am still concerned. Not sure what to think...... I was getting along so well, and now I seemed to have had a set back as I really don't feel great and am trying to work on top of it. Hope for you and me both, we are feeling better soon.
  10. Hi Dee Dee. I got a friend request from you. Hope you are doing well. I see you are from Kansas City. I'm from Topeka. Have you had your surgery yet?

  11. Hope you are back on track soon! Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
  12. Sort of. I'm having some weird pain in my left side. I called the doctor's nurse and she said it sounded like muscle pain, but to let her know if it gets worse.....not sure what to think. It comes and goes and sometimes really hurts. Other than that...I'm good. How about you?

  13. Thanks for your help. It sounds logical, especially since I have been coughing this weekend. I also wondered if it could be constipation pain.
  14. I woke up this morning with a pain in my left side. Sort of like a stitch in my side. I came down with a cold and was coughing really bad on Friday night, but it is better. Still coughing some, but it is definitely better. Not sure what to think about the pain in my left side. Could this be gas pain? Do I need to call the doctor? Thanks for any advice.
  15. Yum. Grilled Fish and Grilled Shrimp. How did you cook them? Any butter or spices?

  16. Forget to say - I am 18 days post op.
  17. Deb.....are you there?? Are you still having computer troubles?????

  18. I sent you a friend request. I had surgery April 13 and started at about the same weight. I like the idea of setting mini goals. Let's stay in touch.

  19. I just wanted to share that I have reached my first major goal---I'm under 300 lbs! I was sleeved on April 13 -just 2 weeks ago, and have lost 36 pounds (including 21 on post op liquid diet). Can't hardly believe that I am 36 pounds lighter than I was one month ago!!! Ya Hoo!!! I have a long way to go, but I actually believe I will get there. I was really nervous about having the surgery, but it was a breeze and I am feeling stronger everyday. Thank you all for your support. Renee

    Healthy Eating for April Sleevers

It's weird how all doctors are different on their plans. I would try warm liquids. My first week postop I drank hot herbal tea, warm chicken broth and Protidiet Hot Cocoa a bunch. The warm seemed to help sooth and just went down better.
  21. Good to hear from you. I love your new picture!! Too fun! I seem to be getting along well, other than I have come down with a really bad cold and am coughing a bunch. I am concerned I may cough open my staple line since I am only 17 days post op. I took some Robitusson Cough Syrup last night and that seemed to help. I am down 36 pounds (21 preop and 15 post op). I am sooo excited!!!

  22. Tell me what you are eating these days. I have been kind of stuck having the same things, i.e. egg salad, turkey cream cheese rollups, cottage cheese, scrambled egg with cheese. Any suggestions??

    Need Medical Advice

Thank you all for your help. I did take some Robitusson DM Cough Syrup and it seemed to help. Hopefully I am on the upswing.
  24. I am 16 days post op and have come down with a terrible cold. I have been coughing some the last couple days, but tonight I have started coughing really bad. I am concerned it might cause a leak in my staple line. Should I be concerned? Can I take cough medicine? Any advice would be appreciated.
  25. CONGRATULATIONS. You are doing great!
