    Getting Sleeved Young

I am 19 years old, I have been overweight all my life, and have tried time and time again to lose weight. I am having surgery in May and it is a life changing experience, but think about what will happen if you don't. All of the health problems as we get older, I am 19 years old and I have back and knee pain daily! I'm not trying to push my decision on you, just giving you my side. Good luck in your decision, message me if you want to talk

    7 months, 67 pounds down....what's next?

I know I'm a little late, but first off congratulations! I'm currently in Nursing school, and also made the decision based on the fasct of 12 hour days and I didn't want to be the fat nurse. My question to you is how where you able to lose all that way and manage to not have sagging skin? Thanks so much

Dating Fears When It's All Over With

My plan to handle a situation like that is, if you didn't want to see me as a heavy girl, then I sure as hell don't want you to see me when I'm "pretty". My boyfriend saw me when the rest of the world thought I was invisible, same with my friends, whether I'm heavy, or skinny I'm still the same person inside and I want people to like me for me, not my appearance, so those people aren't worth my time nor are they worth yours. Stay true to yourself

Have all my ducks in a row, I've got my initial consult tomorrow, but I've been talking to the staff at the office and hopefully end of may!
  9. Praying for a safe surgery and quick recovery! Update us ASAP so we know you are doing well
  10. I'm sitting here reading all these wonderful success stories knowing that hopefully by June I will have VSG. I couldn't be more excited to be honest, I have had surgery before so I know the ins and outs of the hospital so that doesn't worry me, what worries me is when I have this new stomach and I can't sit down and eat a bowl of pasta, or a hamburger, what am I going to do? I can admit that I am and emotional eater and when I'm bored or upset I head for the ice cream. So, I guess my question to you guys is how do I break up with food? Thanks everyone.

    Breaking up with food

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have been considering OA, or a psychologist after surgery, but eithe way I know I will have to do one or the other for this to work. @used2be575lbs- you ae such an inspiration! It's amazing that you've been so successful adn able to keep it off.

    BCBS of michigan

I have my initial appointment on Wednesday, I have my documented diet and exercise, but I'm wondering, has anyone been approved for VSG with BCBS of Michigan? I'm afraid that they will only pay for the Lapband and Bypass. Thank!
