  3. Im 10 weeks out and down 42 pounds, I work out almost everyday. I do free weights and strength training more than cardio, but I can say that my arms have definitely gotten smaller, but I can already see some extra skin. Im 19, I'll be 20 in sept. so I'm hoping age is on my side, however my biggest concern is a sagging belly and flat chest, so I will have plastic surgery in that department, but I am hoping toning work out for my arms
  4. I can't believe it has been one month since I started my new life. I'll keep this short and sweet, I lost 4.6 pounds this week!!!!!! Bringing my grand total to 25.8 pounds lost since surgery

  8. Hi Meg, I wanted to throw my two cents in as well, I am 2 weeks out of surgery, and am down 23 pounds so far. All is post-op weight loss, except for 4 pounds. I started this journey thinking I wanted Lapband, but after a seminar I decided on VSG. This has been the best decision of my life. The weight literally melts off at first, it's instant gratification. I always knew I didn't want bypass becuase I am so young (19) I thought it was too extreme. As for the psych eval. I like most everybody on here suffer from depression. My psych eval. had nothing to do with that, basically you answer basic questions, and then do a 500 question "test" to determine if you are in the righ tmind to make this life changing decision. Good luck and I look forward to future posts. :cheer2:
  9. This is amazing, I'm here in the hot Fl. wather and there is a crossfit place not far from my house, but I am no where near ready for that!!! Thanks for posting htis and being such an inspiration!

  12. This story made me smile so big I am so happy for you, and girl you are just like me if the B/F says go shopping you don't have to tell me twice!!! lol I've already had to buy new shirts, and as much as I love Ross they can be a bit expensive on some things, so I like to hit up the local thrift shops for gently used clothing, because we won't be wearing them for long Plus that just means that when we hit goal, there will be more money for us to buy a whole new wardrobe!!
  13. That is a great idea sugarland, I hate when i get three bites in and then it's cold I have a warmer and will be putting it to good use!
  14. I am only two and a half weeks out, but down 23 pounds so far.
  15. Hang the dress up in a place that you would see it everyday or hang up your largest size pants as a reminder of where you don't want to be. I have the same problem, I hate going to the gym, especially alone, so I like to go with someone
  16. It probably isn't dumping, usually that is just bypass patients. However I have had this same pain, my surgeon said it is because I eaither eat or drink too fast. I imagine it could be becuase your stomach just wasn't ready for the hard skittles. Nonetheless I'm glad you're feeling better
  17. Right there with ya, Day 7 for me and down 15 since surgery!!! You go girl, rock that sleeve!
  18. One week out today, I just wanted to thank eveyone for your well wishes!! Sugery went successful, worst part was my three hour recovery full of dry heaves (no worries pre-op'ers that is an abnormal length of time) after I go tback to my room it was smooth sailing Again, just wanted to stop in and let eveyone know I was doing well and on the Loser's bench!
  19. Thanks everyone for your continued support! Tomorrow is the big day I've been waiting for. See you guys on the otherside!!!
  20. woo hooo! congrats, you'll be in my thoughts. Can't wait to see an update post-op! I'll be right there with ya next monday

  22. Thanks everyone for your replies, it really helps more than you know. I know this is right for me. That's why i post on this site, because I have an awesome support group on here.
  23. Today is Day 1 of my liquid diet. This isn't the hard part. Like everyone else, I am getting so so nervous. Surgery is two weeks away, am I making a mistake? Do I really know what I'm doing? Couldn't I just lose the weight on my own? Just some thoughts passing through my mind. I'm sure everyone got nervous before hand. This is right for me. I know it.
