I also have Fed BCBS, and initially was approved for a RNY but have had issues with gastric polyps in the past and the surgeon wanted to do a scope and just look to see. Well they found a WHOLE bunch of polyps this time so they fell the better choice for me would be the SG. Now they have to start the approval process over again. Was it a problem for you to get the approval for the SG from Fed BCBS?
I have BCBS Fed and had my surgery last Aug. I was initially approved for the lapband,( by another surgeon, a real a**hole) but decided at the last moment not to get it once I heard about the sleeve (from another surgeon.) I thought at first.... oh since I was already approved for one procedure it should not take long to approve me for another one. That's not quite how it worked out, but I was eventually approved for the sleeve.
Good luck, becuz you will LOVE YOUR SLEEVE!!!!!

Yes, one is 325 lbs. and the other is always ill.
Baby girl.... they are called haters ;-( Unfortunately they are our friends and you think they would be happy for us, but they are not. They are jealous instead. You can either say something to them or let it roll off your back.

WOW!!!
I am 7 months out I had my first Marqarita at Chili's yesterday and I had about 5 sips and could not drink anymore. I felt the effects immediately. However, I was never a BIG drinker anyway, so that might account for it hitting me as hard as it did. Good luck!!!!

I was having lunch the other day with a friend who is an apartment property manager. While we were eating, her maintenance person came in to eat and he texted her that I was hot (totally makes me laugh) I am 43. He is 24. So silly, but made me smile all day - A 24 year old thought I was hot hahaha :heh:
You go girl If you're HOT and someone else knows it..... CLAP YOUR HANDS!!! You better start clapping. I love this one.

Hi Abbey, I don't want to sound dismissive but enjoy it while it lasts! I felt like that for about a month, but there's less to recover from with a plication. I've read that's what termed as your 'window of opportunity' for losing weight generally lasts only 6 months, so once you're closer to your old self you'll probably long to have these days back again.
I totally agree. Enjoy it while it last. There is a 6 month window where you should lose the most weight that u can becuz later it gets harder and harder. Sometimes I long for the early days.

Yeah.... I asked my surgeon about me keeping my stomach and them making a DVD of the surgery. No to both requests. They stated bio hazardous waste and the hospital has to throw it away.

Welcome Randy My decision to get the sleeve is one of the best decisions I ever made. Once you get yours I am sure you will agree.
We offer alot of support here, so feel free to post a question and someone will have an answer. There is a Man's Room forum you might want to check out.
Good luck and again welcome.

Baby girl I know what you speak up. Don't get me wrong. For my age i look pretty good. But to ME my face has change. Some for the better some for the worst. The worst being I see laugh lines that I NEVER had before and I have a freaking turkey neck. On the plus I have beautiful eyes. Boobs, butt and arms.... well don't get me started. My boyfriend doesn't seem to mind, except maybe for the butt. LOL.
Saving money now to fix what I can. Boyfriend says he will not help becuz I will probably leave him when everything is fix. He he!!!!

Congratz Kathy on the awesome weight loss. I think I know exactly how you feel. Keep up the excellent work and you will be at GOAL before you know it.

It's not stupid. I'm 34, and will be having fillers and botox done. I've had 2 consults and Juvederm was mentioned for my laugh lines, and botox for my 11 lines (in between the eyebrows) and deep forehead wrinkles. I'm not sure if I'm willing to have her botox my crow's feet because I don't want "concrete face".
As for the turkey neck, I was able to avoid that one. I've been using Garnier gravity defying moisturizer for over a year now, and I see a noticeable difference in my neck when I skip that area.
I've also looked into a mini-facelift, but my derm thinks that's a little extreme at this stage. I can say that my face has changed several times even in maintenance. Fat redistributes, skin changes, and then BAM a new wrinkle appears. I'm trying to wait until I'm close to 2 years out before doing anything to my face.
Boobs and Tummy Tuck are on hold as well because once again, my body shape has changed, and skin is rebounding.
Have you ever looked into Lifestyle Lift? ?? It's supposed to be less expensive than a full face lift? ? ?
Tiff, I bought Garnier Gravity Defying Cream. I hope it works!!!!!!
