    Federal BCBS

I have Federal BCBS of Kansas City. From the informational seminar until approval took me about 3 months. I had a psych eval, met with a dietician, physical therapist and had a EGD in that time frame. Once I got my approval, was surgery was scheduled for 3 weeks later. Two weeks before surgery I had lab work, EKG, and chest X-ray in the same day. Please keep in mind my surgeon is very much in demand and I think that's why it took so long. Because we all know once we go to a seminar and have made up our minds that the sleeve is what we want...... we want it NOW. Good luck to all and best wishes!!!! Deb

  7. I had my surgery on Tuesday the 17th and so far so good. My question is I see so many people talk about gas pains, when do they start? Right after surgery or few days later.... when? Deb
  8. CONGRATS. Your slender hand is the perfect place to showcase your beautiful ring. Best wishes and all the happiness in the world to you and Ryan. :001_tongue: Deb
  9. I hope you are feeling better now, Christina. Really one of the things that scared me about the surgery....well after the surgery was the gas pains. So many people talked about how painful it was. I got scared a little bit, I even brought my Gas-X strips to the hospital, but nothing. And still so far nothing. Deb

  11. Hello, I had my surgery on the 17th of August and my surgeon has never mentioned a need for an acid blocker. Does everyone take it? I see him on Wednesday for my first post-op appointment and will ask him then about the acid blocker. All I can say is I have not felt any hunger at all. Which is kinda cool, the one drawback is I also don't want to drink my Protein or my Water AT ALL EITHER. I really have to push myself to do it. Deb
  12. Congrats!!!! You look amazing.

  14. Hey Mary wassup? How are you doing? I'm feeling pretty darn good if I so myself. The surgery was perfect and I love my surgeon. LOL. I go on Wednesday for my follow-up appointment. It's still kinda of hard getting all of my water and protein in, but I'm determined to do it TODAY!!! Famous last words. I would love to hear from you. TTYL.

  20. Renee, I know just how you feel about chickening out. I thought the same thing many many times. I thought maybe I can diet one more time to lose the weight. But I knew deep down in my heart. Yes, I can diet. Yes, I can lose, but will I keep it off. Nope, I can honestly say NO I wouldn't. I cried about it many many times. Then I prayed about it and left it in God's hands. And you know what? I was so calm the day of surgery, so I think that was what helped me.... praying and knowing what I was doing was right for me. If you need to talk, PM me and I will give my number. You are no alone in this.... baby girl.

  24. Hello from the loser's bench. My surgery went excellent and my surgeon is great. LOL.

I feel great, really I barely had any incision pain or gas pains. It's funny because the gas pains I read on the boards here made me kinda scared. I thought MAN these people are really hurting from the gas. So I brought my Gas-X strips to the hospital in preparation, but nope I never had to use them. My post op pain was very manageable to the point I thought I not going to need any pain meds. I eventually went to the drug store to fill my prescription, but I still felt good without them. Even tho I feel better with them. LOL.

I feel really really blessed this has turned out so good so far.

Dec. will be here in no time. I know you want it like yesterday. But really the time will fly quickly by. At least it did for me while I was waiting. Plus maybe there will be a cancellation from someone and you can get in earlier.

Please keep me updated with your progress. Have a good day.
