    1st post op visit

Congrats on the weight loss. That's an awesome start. Deb
  6. My surgeon's office assumed because I work for the postal service I had a very strenuous job. Not true even though I am required to lift up tp 70 pounds if needed. I have never lifted more than probably 25 pounds in the 10 yrs. I have worked then. Anyway they filled out my FMLA papers out for 4 weeks off. No way in hell did I need that much time, but it was nice to know it was there if I needed it. I actually took 2 weeks off, but could have gone back after 1. If you can take that much time off and your surgeon OKs it, go for it!!!! :thumbup1: Deb

  8. Renee.... baby girl, I AM DOING VERY WELL. Really I can not complain at all. You know I never had gas pains or real pain from the time of the surgery. I have been blessed. Right now I would say this is one the best things I could have done for myself. I'm down to 265 this morining. In April when I joined WW I weight in at 321. Soooooo I'm very very happy. Plus I have not felt hungry since the surgery. I do need to step up my water intake, but other than that all fluids and food is easy to drink and eat.

Renee, if you are waiting for the pysch evaul. you might have to call their office again. Tell them it's important for them to fax it over to Dr. H.'s office. That is what I had to do with mine. I hope everything works out great for you. Please keep me informed. I care about you. TTYL.

    Don't want to eat!!!

I was on my pre-op diet for two weeks which consisted of unlimited sugar free popsicles and Jello, broth, and one 8 oz. glass of skim milk, a low carb/cal. yogurt and 60 grams of Protein shakes. My one week post-op diet was the same minus the milk and yogurt. Today is the day I'm suppose to be able to eat cottage cheese, string cheese, tuna.etc.... for one meal, then go back to drinking Water and Protein Shakes for the rest of the day. Well..... I don't have any HUNGER!!!!! Nothing sounds good to me and the smell of food kinda makes me nauseous. I don't want to eat. I know I should, but? :confused1:ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY? Deb
  10. Here's a Nike slogan for you "Just do It. Tell the public, be honest. When.. not if you start losing huge amounts of weight in no time, they are going to think you did surgery anyway, so beat them to the punch. Tell and maybe educate them as well. That's my two cents worth. Can you gives us some hints? Which team? Which sport.... football, baseball or ice hockey.... etc? LOL. Deb

    eek! Tomorrow!

Yep, we all have had those same thoughts in our minds. But, you know what? Everything will be just fine. Clear your mind and think peacful thoughts. If you believe in God pray to him to give you strength. He will you know!!! I think what helped me most was I had resolved to do this and I prayed to God to give me strenght. A calmness came over me after that. Don't worry..... be happy. Best wishes for an uneventful operation and a very speedy recovery tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you. Deb
