    I met a 4-year sleever today

Globetrotter please stay focus and positive. YOU WILL MAKE YOUR GOAL. At first when I was reading the post I was like OMG,but like Mini said we don't know anything about this woman. Remember the sleeve was the first part of DS and the bougie size was bigger for those sleever. Plus maybe she was 500 pounds before she had surgery and is now 250. Is she still trying to lose or has she given up ???? WE just don't know. If we do what we are suppose to do, WE WILL LOSE OUR WEIGHT AND KEEP IT OFF {{{{HUGS}}}} Deb

Easter Sunday - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

Girl you crazy!!!! HUGS BACK AT YOU Deb
  8. Here is a sample of my pre-op liquid diet. *Unlimited sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles, decaf tea and of course Water. *Low carb Protein drink- make sure you getting at 60 grams of protein/per day. *Consume these liquids in moderation as they contain larger amounts of sugar: Gatorade, or Powerade, regular jello, popsicles or no sugar added fudgsicles,1 cup of skim milk * 8 ounces of lite carb yogurt. I did this for 2 weeks and lost about 20 pounds. What keep me on the straight and narrow was my surgeon's office said the pre-op diet was to reduc the size of your liver to increase the safety of your sugery. In some cases the liver can be to large to retract out of the way, making it impossible to visualize the stomach. At that point the surgeon would be unable to complete your surgery. What!!!!! I stay on my diet. Good luck. Deb

    Calling all VSGers

My surgeon uses a 34 bougie and three rows of titanium staples. One week after surgery I could two bites of a hard boiled egg and could not eat eat anymore for several hours. Now I am 6 months out and I can eat the whole egg. Progress. LOL. :-) P.S. Just curious is this a KC surgeon? Deb
  18. Also I just wanted to add. I am very proud of you. You are doing GREAT!!!! As we get closer to our ultimate goal we mite only be losing 4 or 5 pounds a month, so I am trying to prepare myself for that.

  19. I always focus on protein first then if I am still not full I will eat green veggies and then a little bit of carb friendly fruit. I really really try not to eat to many carbs. I probably average about 40-50 carbs a day. I try to drink at least 8 glasses of water. It is getting harder each day as I feel completely normal. Sometimes I do eat a donut or chips, but I don't beat myself up over it.

  20. I am almost 6 monhs out and I can drink from a straw( never had an issue even tho I was told not to by my nut) and I too can drink 20 oz. of Water in minutes. I've been drinking water normally for months now. Thank goodness becuz sipping truly got on my last nerve. Deb

    Hyperspeed Process

Welcome and congratz Dawn. This probably ONE of the best decisions you will make in your life time. Please read up on all the info you will find on this board, so as to best prepare yourself since this is happening sooooo fast. Most of us had several months to think about our life changing event so this can be overwhelming for you. Hopefully your surgeon has a support group you can attend once you have had your surgery, if not this board will give you great support. If you have any questions fire away, I am sure there is someone here who can answer it. Good luck and please keep us updated with your progress. Deb
