    Pre Operative Diet

Not to mention that it also cleans thing out of your system so your stomach wont contain food during surgery.

    Undergarments During Weightloss!

I didnt buy the real thing...I bought three tanks with the "firm" control for the tummy...They were about $18 at target...they held up pretty well considering I wore them almost everyday. I would say it has been 14 months or so and they are about shot now.

    Hair Loss

Yes, I did experience hair loss...I had really thick hair prior to surgery...I would say I lost 1/2 of the volume but...not everyone does. And most importantly it is temporary. It is almost all back now and almost as healthy as before ( a little dryer). I started taking B-beautiful chewable supplements at about 5 months out. It doesnt help with hair loss but it helps with regrowth.

    Almost Passed Out ...........

I had that happen A LOT during my losing stage... yep just up your water...have you tried MIO? I switched from K2O because it is way cheaper than crystal light and it has no calories no fat no sodium, no sugar.

    What Did I Do?

I was also frustrated with the variances in the information we get from Nutritionists. And I have come to my own conclusion. I think that there is no standard for diet after this wls yet. I think each doctor sticks to what they have seen work in their practice. They dont want their patience to have problems so they go by what works. I think it would be great if they would all get together and 1. realize that sleeve patients are not by-pass or lap band patients and we cant and should eat just like them and 2. give us some consistency! If you are dying to eat something outside your Nut guidelines and come on the board and hear of 5 others at the same point in recovery as you, it tempts you to go ahead and "cheat". That in my opinion is dangerous. We can always find someone doing the wrong thing and it not hurting them right? I mean I know skinny people who ate like I did pre-op and they were skinny. Just because it didnt "hurt" them doesnt mean it is right for you right?
  11. In my opinion you should eat only what you feel like...unless that is nothing all day long...if food isnt appealing stick with protein shakes. You will feel like food again but you will be a lot skinnier when you do!
  12. I was instructed and have followed religiously NO drinking 30 minutes prior to eating and 30 mins after eating. Also, I used a timer on my phone. I would wake and drink a protein shake, set my timer for 30 minutes, eat a mushie, set timer for 30 minutes, drink 8 ounces of fluid, set my timer, eat a mushie, set timer....etc. the entire day. It helped me get in 600 calories a day while I was losing. But I think while I was at 2 weeks I was lucky to get 400 calories a day and I would do atleast 2 protein shakes a day. Can you add milk to your shake instead of water ? helps get in some calories.

    Sleeve, And Deep Water>>>Help Please<<<

I would say that you should check with your doctor...Do you still have stitches, staples, durabond? I would say that makes a big difference . Most likely you should take it easy and just wade in the water and splash around but swimming takes a lot of work from tummy muscles and I doubt yours are ready for a work out. I wasnt allowed any exercise other than walking until 4 weeks and then no strenious until 6 months.

    I Want To Eat!

It took a while for me...but you will get there. Well actually your wont get to your normal energy level again you will go way beyond it! I had a rough time at about 4 weeks and blamed my husband for all the trouble. I wasnt happy and it took a week for me to feel a little better about things. I also took a while to get to 64 ounces of fluids (like 6 months). But each day i tried and i didnt give up. You will succeed if you continue to follow dr.s order. Come read post, look at old picture of you at a heavier weight do what you can for exercise everyday and you will start to feel better.

5 1/2 Weeks Post Op Having Some Issues!

I have only had the slimmes once and I know that it was becuase I was taking too big of bites not chewing enough and eating too fast. It's kind of a trial by error kind of thing at first. But I think a PPI would help with the reflux. I started on Prilosec and switched to Nexium and the doctor changed the dose until I had relief. Praying for answers for you.

    Had Anyone Experience This?

Oh my what a trial you have been through. I am saying a prayer for you right now. Just a quick question...doesnt your doctor come by atleast 1 time a day. Ask him/her all your questions and keep asking until they have an answer. I have learned that if the medical staff treating you cant answer a question now ask them when they will be able to tell me...like can I get the drains out...they may say not until you are no longer draining fluid. Or how long does the average patient with a leak stay in the hospital? For now try not to be down. It isnt like you did anything wrong you just need to let your self heal.

    Woke Up With A Cold

I am a year out and I am also sick...My surgeon said I can take anything that is not an ansaid. I choose not to take anything except tylenol when my throat hurts so bad or I have a headache. Pre surgery I took 3 extra strength at a time. Now 1 does the trick nicely!
  24. Congratulaions. This was my first surgery too. I was pretty nervous the night before but the morning of I was very calm. You really dont need much at the hospital,..I think it would have been helpful to have headphones...I had a noisey roommate. I took a book. and a change of comfortable clothes, a robe to cover up while walking the halls and slippers but they gave be socks with rubber I liked them better. Thats about it. My advice is get up as soon as you can and walk walk walk as soon as they let you especially if you dont feel good. I felt nauseous at first but they gave me something and it helped. Will say a prayer for you, I believe that this surgery was a gift from God for me. I am so thankful others can get it too. Looking forward to reading your posts post op!
