  2. Hey Chilo... how's thing 'up north'????

Hope you are well... ready of the big guy in red!!??

  3. Yep, the first couple of weeks are a pain in the ass.... but it is worth it!! I took nanna naps a lot; firstly cos I was knackered ... and secondly to keep me off the wanting of food. Do you like marmite or oxo? Perhaps you could make a drink out of those... worked for me. Got an oxo cube and just added hot water! Also the herbal tea idea is a good one! Good luck and chin up... it does get better! =]
  4. Interesting to read this... my inital goal weight was to get into a healthy BMI, pretty much like everyone else's!! That is a goal weight of 133lb from a starting weight of 238lb- a difference of 105lb. When I spoke to my surgeon he suggested that I lost between 5 - 61/2 stone which is 70lb - 91lb! So there is a little difference of 14lb!!!!!! I suppose it isn't that much in the wider scheme of things. At the slow rate I am losing I will be more than happy to get to my 'lower' goal weight, which would mean a 70lb loss... however, in the fantasy world of 'The Coopster' I would LOVE to reach my own goal weight and a healthy BMI. Time will only tell!!
  5. Hello, Would you be able to advise me on my weight plateau please? I am now 5 weeks post op and feeling great... I have lost 24lb, but this was in the first 2 and a bit weeks... since then I have not lost an ounce and I am starting to feel a little down... from what I have read this seems fairly common and I have also read that the weight will start to come off again... Am I just being impatient? Obviously, I understand that I won't lose weight at that speed but I would like to see a steady decrease over the weeks. I spoke to my nurse and she just repeated the post op advice of three meals a day, no more no less and that I have 100gms of Protein... I am not ready for full on exercise, but I do walk at the moment. Any help would be really appreciated... Thanks in advance Coops

    July Surgeries

Thanks ladies, I am sorta losing a pound a week over the last two weeks, so at least that is progress... the whole 3 weeks with no loss was seriously doing my head it... I need to up the exercise to what it used to be, I had to take it steady for a while but I do feel really well now. I have my follow up appointment on Xmas Eve and once the specialist has given me the all clear I get get back on the exercise as I used to and crank it up a gear or two...lol I have been tempted to post some before and after pics... what I have decided to do now, is to post when I reach the half way mark, which is 7lbs away, and am hoping that this will give me a little more motivation too!! Have a great christmas holidays... I am not going to deny myself cos i know that after a mouthful or two that will be enough... happy days!
  7. Hey, mine grumbles and growls during and immediately after food... not before... no idea why and it started at around 4mths post sleeve, which is a month ago ( now 5 mths out) Does anyone know why it does this? =]

Where did the chat room go?

Hey Oregondaisy, Yea, it has vanished from my screen too... the individual option and the chat too... I used to like going in for a chat too! Didn't someone say that we were going to get it back to normal once the site was up and running...?????

When I hit my goal I'm going to...

Hey Chilo.... you know it is all TRUE!!!!! I do actually love Robbie and need to look my best when I see him...lol xx
  10. Nice one... I noticed your ticker had gone down again... how did it go? What did he say? I bet he was chuffed with your progress. I'm still in limbo... lost a pound last week, will offically weigh in the morning but I think it is aound this week too...*boo hoo* So since the pnuemonia I have managed to get rid of 6-7lb... I know I haven't done as much exercise but I have been doing some and I am a little disheartened... but I ain't beating myself up like I did a couple of weeks ago!! It has been hard work to be honest, but without the sleeve I would have put a lot of weight on... so that is a bonus!! =]
  11. congrats.... good job well done... looking leaner!! Keep up the good work! =]
  12. Cheers Chilo... I will try those for sure... how are you doing with the extra protein and less carbs... you are soooo near to your goal weight now... exciting!!!! x

When I hit my goal I'm going to...

I'm with lasajata!!!! defo gonna cry!!! been a long time coming. Then, once the tears have dried ...!! I am going to see Take That June 16th and I am hoping to be goal or very near goal by then... I have a mental idea of my outfit to see my fab five - Robbie in particular - a size 12 pair of Bench jeans and a 'fitted' tee-shirt saying 'Coops loves Robbie' ...lol x
  14. Hey Chilo, what Protein shake are you taking...I have been thinking about using them as a snack to see if they help my weight loss... I occasionally have a Protein Bar for brekkie but I am reluctant to buy the powder in case I don't like it cos it is really expensive! Tiff, I can see the difference you mentioned with your hair, but to be honest, the dramatic weight loss overshadows it completely... I showed my husband the pics and he didn't even notice that your hair was fine, just said 'Bloody hell, where did she go?' So I guess the moral of the story is that, those who know you/us will be drawn to the weight loss not the hair loss and those who don't know us will just think we have fine hair... everyones a winner...

Hey Ladies, Glad everyone is doing well... Cheri way to go lady.... 62lb is amazing!!!!! I am with you Kathy, I still see myself as fat round even though I 'know' I am not anymore... down 3 dress sizes but I still see that woman who went into hospital 5 mths ago! Weird, but I think it is going to take my head a long time to catch up with my body. The last couple of months have been really hard; I had a dose of pneumonia and my weight loss has all but stopped since then, despite my eating habits remaining the same- I have lost 6 lb since 11th Oct. Yea, I am a little disheartened but I realise that it is my body's way of reacting and trying to keep me well. I am sure that the slow but steady weight loss will return soon! I am still getting a lot of regular and positive comments; from my new clothes to the weight loss. It was difficult in the beginning and I felt awkard, but now I am more accepting of the attention and for the most part it is nice and a little bit of an ego boost too! I still don't have a single regret, even with christmas on the door step ... this would normally be a time of chocolate and cake and drink and...well, you get the general idea! Not this year though. I haven't denied myself either, but the difference is simple... this year I have a mouthful or a bite and stop.... WOW... what a great sense of achievement that is!!!!! Keep up the good work fellow sleevers... xx

    Three months Post-Op

Hey Irene, you are soooo right; last week I was going 'down'! Moody, feeling low and basically beating myself up cos I wasn't losing 2,3,4 lb a week! I now realise that this is the lowest weight that I have been for over 13 years... I definately feel more positive, and that is without a massive weight loss recently. It is important for me not to rely on the scales for that feeling of success... and although it has been a long and hard 2 1/2 mths of very little movement, I think I probably needed this to reassess my own state of mind - if that makes sense. I ain't a failure either... thank you for the positive vibes that you continue to give us all... I, for sure, need to hear these once in a while xx
  19. Hey KathyM, well done you... what a fantastic result!!! I am close to my half way goal and can't reach to make it!! You were sleeved on my wedding anniversary... what a great day !!

  22. hey, congratulations on a job well done... stalls are a complete pain in the ass ... I think you are spot on with the water advice...I am in a stall and am struggling to get my water in!! Keep up the good work x
  23. Hello fellow sleevers, Just thought I would post... I need a pep talk and I know you lot are brillant at this, as I have already read in abundance! Ok, here goes... I am feeling a little hacked off here... since the 9th Oct I have only lost 4lb and 2 inches! I know I was ill during that time- I had pnuemonia and was really poorly... I managed to put 4lb on too - but I just feel like I am failing myself! Since the 2nd Nov I have been feeling 'well'... eating as planned, Protein, protein, protein... low carb and plenty of Water. I am also back in the gym 2-3 times a week, I also walk and swim now too... So, what the heck is going on... I know I am a slow loser and that is fine, but I really feel like the last 6-7 weeks have been a waste!!! I am usually quite a positive person, glass always half full etc... but I have to be honest with you, I am starting to feel 'down' about it all and all my bad body images and feelings are coming back as I can't see any kind of change in myself in the last two months! I really wanted to be around the 170- 180lb stage for christmas but I am currently 194lb.... GUTTED! My weight loss has dropped to less than 10lb a month now too.... Sorry about the moan, but I know this is a safe and honest place to let it all out, so to speak... any words of wisdom, kindness or just a kick up my ass would be very much appreciated!
  24. Hey Muffinsmom, I never thought of it like that... you're right, as far as I am concerned the pneumonia is long gone and I am back to normal... the Dr did warn me that it could be 'a 6 mth project'... so yea, that is probably why things have gone a bit pear shaped... I am doing the right things... but yea, my pure water intake has gone down, but I do drink plenty of tea and de caf coffee (skimmed milk and a tiny amount of sugar... I've been doing this all along)! Will focus on my water and take it easy!! Thanks x
  25. Hey Diva...

    Happy Birthday my lovely!!

Thanks for the mess... yea I am ok, still sticking to the programme ...lol! It is really cold over here and it is nice to wear a jumpy without looking like a complete frump!!

How are you...? Great pics btw xx
