    Still a Fight!!

I agree with rootman... at your stage, I focused on getting enough liquid and didn't worry about the protein side of things...When you are on pureed food you can start to get more protein in. Chilo recommended putting protein powder in decaf coffee; I've used the plain and vanilla flavour and it tastes like a lattee... nice! Concentrate on healing and liquids; get plenty of rest that your body needs. You'll be fine! =]

    REGRET

Great question bd73, I think regret is too strong for me... Just after surgery, I dod wonder why the hell I just spent 8k on getting rid of half my guts? I am just 6mths out now and there have been moments of 'Oh God is this working... have I done the right thing?' etc... but they are fleeting...to be absolutely frank, without the sleeve I wouldn't have lost 4lb nevermind 47lb! For me the options had all been done and this is literally my last chance to get healthy, fitter and SLIM!!

    Post op info needed

I found that I could drip a lot of fluids in one go early out... still can on an empty tummy... I wasn't worried because even at that stage I could still feel when I was full. If you can tolerate it and it doesn't cause you any problems, go with the flow as such!! Sorry bad pun... but seriously, it is important to be well hydrated, even more so in the first month to 6 weeks! keep up the good work! =]

    Mother in law

hopeandfaith, The sleeve is your decision and it gives you control over your eating, your health and your fitness... bugger what everyone else says! That is a tough one... your mother in law doesn't sound that pleasant... but on the plus side you daughter sounds amazing!!

    What do you think?

Oh that is more in my price range... where do you get yours from? I'll look out for those for sure... especially if they are nice. Is it just Complan and Nestle or do they have a specific name... sorry to be a pain xx

Ain't it Sunday today...lol!! I've got maximuscle ready made before now... the strawberry one is nice, the choc one is ok... certainly drinkable for the first two days. I've been looking at the flavoured ones but they see soooo expensive... might just have to buy it and be done with it!?? x

    What do you think?

Chilo, I've had a look at the pouch test and I think it is doable... shall we go together.,. I really need some motivation and something to get the scales moving ... that at least will keep me going, 'cos right now I am really disheartened! =[ Let me know and give me a day notice if you fancy it, I ain't got any premade Protein shakes in at the moment... and they'll be good for brekkie...

    What do you think?

Hey Stacy... good for you,.. love the way your body has given you an extra christmas pressie...lol! I know what you mean by feeling like you need a clean out ... I am feeling sluggish... I took a couple of days 'off' and had some treats... not too many but enough to enjoy! I have done a little exercise and that has helped. My biggest problem is that my body clock is out of synch now... staying up way too late... so I am looking forward to going back to work just for the routine!!
  12. Hey Kris, good luck for your surgery! I love they way you have set little goals or experiences that aren't weight related... these will defo spur you on through your weight loss journey! Good for you. You must keep us posted on how you're doing...=]

    What do you think?

Thanks for the input... Chilo, I will have a look at the pouch test and let you know... I need to be organised as I am back to work Tues ... Not ready for that, at all!! One thing that is bugging me at the moment is that although I have done well to lose 47lb, I am still obese and I still feel 'big'! When friends comment on my weight loss I generally thank them and they always seem to ask 'oh, how much more do you want to lose?'... When I tell them that I ain't even half way and there is at least another 50lb... they seem surprised! I have even been told I should stop now!! That is absolutley not an option! Why can't people, accept that I need to lose more weight and that I need to have a healthy and fit body? Grrrrrrr!!! I don't think any of the comments are said in a nasty way but it is irritating that they don't understand!... OK rant over... gonna have a look at the pouch test now! =]

    Weight Loss Frustration

Supersweettums, First;y, congratulations on your weight lose to date. That weight has gone and is gone forever. You are still in the early days and your body is still wondering what has happened to it as it enters the final stage of healing. I know it is frustrating, 'cos I was in the same boat... I stall for 3 weeks at 2 1/2 weeks post op, I was also self pay and I agree... it was an awful time and one of doubt. I have now accepted that I am a slow loser and it does continue to get me down ... I weigh every day and in one way it is wrong 'cos those numbers dictate my mood... I am trying not to but... I am about 6mths out now and my average weight loss per week is 1.9lb! Not fantastic but ok. I just have to keep plodding along and wait for my body to let go of the flab! Just be kind to yourself, follow your post op diet guidelines and it will come off! =]
  15. Hey, you are looking lovely!! Beautiful before and after! Keep up the good work! x
  16. Oh well done you!!! Another great success story to start the New Year!! I am chuffed for you... it feeeeeeels gooooooood!! =]

    Brownbear Post Op Update

Hey, I was expected to 'poop' before I left the hospital! Needless to say that didn't happen... I think it was around a week or so before any movement in that area... I still get constipated now, so I use linseed to help; 1 tablespoon and a large glass of water and bingo!! Happy Days! =]

    Brownbear Post Op Update

Hey Brownbear... glad you are feeling better... I had to giggle at the farting part... what sweeeeet relief that was!! Onwards and upwards for 2011!!
  21. Well done to you... I am going through a similar thing at the moment... I 'feel' smaller but when I look in the mirror I don't see much of a difference! I am trying to be kinder to myself... but I fully appreciate how emotional this whole process is... Keep up the good work! =]

    64 oz water, really?

thanks foxbins... that is good news, cos when I am on track, which is about 80% of the time, I am getting the right amount. I have a beaker that measures about a pint of water when full and I aim for 4 of those a day... Thanks again =]
  23. No probs... keep your head up high,,. you can and will be successful!! Good luck =]
  24. Perhaps a good ole fashioned poo would help.... lol Sorry, couldn't resist xx HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  25. Jollyj1977, I don't have PCOS offically... but I suspect it as I do have a lot of the symptoms... my monthly friend is erratic and irregular with no pattern or format whatsoever. I too experience stalls... and I don't lose every week of the month and I personally feel that there is a relation between hormones and my weight loss... However, I ain't a medically professional ... just my personal opinion! BUT... I am losing, albeit it slow... so you just hang on in there... be kind to yourself and stick to the post op programme and I am sure that you will see the results you want. Remember, this isn't a sprint ... it is a marathon!!
