  1. I'm learning how to eat all over again...my eyes are definitely bigger than my stomach.

  2. The doctor gave me the okay to move on to soft foods. Yippee! Now what am I going to do with all this soup?

  3. Thank you posting this. I am having the same struggle. The scale hasn't moved in a week and I am 2 weeks post-op. I get more than enough fluids and protein. My calories are between 600-700. I am going for my follow-up appointment this afternoon. I am hoping for some encouraging words from my doctor.

    2 weeks post op today

I am on birth control pills. After surgery, I started my period the same day in the hospital. It wasn't due for 2 more weeks. On top of all the nausea and pain, I had to deal with a heavy period which caused severe headaches during my hospital stay. The doc said the surgery had shocked my body into having a period and the blood thinners didn't help either. Needless to say, I tossed out my birth control pills and am waiting for the next cycle to come around before I start taking them again. I am NOT looking forward to the next period because all indications say it will be bad.
  5. Today was the first day I cried since my sleeve on Jan 26th. The frustration of not losing is really getting to me. Thank you everyone for all your postive comments and posts. You help me stay optimistic.

  6. Very frustrated...no weight loss for 5 days and only 13 days post op. I wish I could say my scale was broken. :(

  7. OMG...I actually drank 92oz of liquid today. Is that really possible?

  8. I 'm glad I stayed two nights in the hospital. The day of and after surgery was miserable for me. I spent the majority of the day and night either dry heaving into a bucket or sleeping with my head IN the bucket. My doctor decided not to discharge me because I was having such a hard time holding down even the smallest sip of liquid. I was given anti-nausea meds which helped me relax a little but I still found myself reaching for my trusty bucket frequently. The second night I was able to sleep most of the night and by morning I had recovered enough to begin holding down some liquid with the help of the anti-nausea meds.As far as pain, I had some in the hospital and the doc sent me home with Percocet but I haven't taken any pain meds since I have been home. The only pain I have is tenderness at the incision sites. I believe it depends on the person ... having read many posts on this website (as I'm sure you have) everyone has a different experience.
  9. Hooray... for creamy organic soups like butternut squash. I'm so happy my tummy likes them. They are low fat and add a little bit of flavor to the full liquid stage.

  10. 12 days post op and experiencing my first stall :(

  11. So I decided to layoff the milk and just mix my protein powder with water. I feel better this evening...tomorrow it's on to cream soup.

  12. Today is a bad day...

  13. How can I survive on less than 100 calories a day?

    Crystal Light Hardcandy?

I am 3 days post op and my mom bought me two bags of Crystal Light Hard Candy. I am on clears for 10 days. Is it ok to have these sugar free candies too?
  15. Is it okay to take the chewable calcium during the post-op clear liquid diet phase? I am trying to make sure I get all my nutrients in so I don't have too many deficiency issues.

    Chewable Calcium?

Thanks everyone. I'll take one and see how I do.
  17. 3 days post op, at home with my kids. I am worn out!! 10 days of clears coming up next...where will I find any energy?

  18. Great news!! Today two days post op and my nausea is pretty much gone. They are discharging me today :)

  19. Surgery yesterday...still in the hospital. Very sick. I can't keep anything down. The nausea is awful.

  20. I'm afraid!!! 4 hours till I have to be on the road to the hospital. Not sure why I am so nervous.

    Family Photos

Thank you for sharing! I am new to the forum but I have found inspiration in all of your posts. These pictures are truly amazing. You're family is so beautiful and radiant with happiness. I can only dream of being so successful in my weightloss journey. Thank you!
  22. Only 3 more days...I've waited all my life for an opportunity like this one.

  23. Just trying to take it one day at a time...and I haven't even been sleeved yet.

  24. Thanks k8! It's an old nickname from college and yes...my eyes are blue. I started my pre-op diet last wednesday (2 weeks prior). It's about the same: 3 protien shakes, 1/2 oatmeal, 1 sugar-free Jello and 1 pudding,1 fat free yogurt, and 1 unsweetened applesauce. No caffeine and no soda. As for the chart, it's pretty simple to put in the tracker. Just go to TickerFactory.com to customize your weight loss tracker. It will give you the code to use for web forums and blogs. Copy this information and then go to Profile>Change Signature and add the code in the Edit Signature block. Let me know how it goes. Keep in touch. It would be great to have someone to talk to as we go through day by day.
