    I So Badly Want..

It has taken me 9 months to get in the green zone. Finally this week I reached it. But I decided even though the weightloss is slow it's still better than gaining. Even lost over the holidays.

    Hilarious Nsv!

You will too......I am 55, my face looked like I had swallowed a basketball. But as I have lost the weight my face has really slimmed down but didn't sag. Exercise and a good moisturizer is the trick.....well and alittle makeup. I work at a Cosmetology school and we do microderm cheap. That helps keep the skin smooth and light therapy keeps it tight. Find one that does Esthetics and go for it.

    Hilarious Nsv!

Same thing happened to me today. I had a student graduating and her sister who had dropped out 6 months ago was at her graduation. She said to me "You look so different, why?" I laughed and said it's that 50 pounds I lost most likely!!!!

I Fell Off...but Now I Am Back On!

Hey don't feel bad I walk 4 miles everyday and have been stuck at this weight since Sept. I remember the head doctor telling me most people lose 40 to 50% of the weight they want to lose and would I be happy with that. I know I will get that last 20 off but it just might take awhile. This band has helped keep my eating in check.

    "thanksgiving Salad "

    Orange with mandrin oranges....yummy
  10. Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed I would be standing in front of a xray machine with a needle sticking out of my stomach saying " Wow how cool is this". Dr. Tim who does my fills got a real kick out of that. Never having done floro I was fascinated. Being self pay I had been putting off doing this but he sure was able to give me good restriction right away without being to tight. I had hit a plateau and wanted to getting things going again before the Holidays.
  11. I was you 6 months ago, I am going to tell you what my hubby said to me " Honey will you please stop worrying. You figured out how to get the money to have this surgery and if you need to have it removed you will figure that out too! Worrying won't get you anywhere!!!" He was so right, I picked an excellent doctor and follow the rules and haven't worried one second since the day I got that surgery. Here I am 50 lbs lighter spending all my (what if I need to have the band removed money) on new clothes.....lol You have nothing to fear but fear itself! I should have kept reading....congrats and keep us posted.
  12. I know you have had problems, but having lost 70lbs I would say your band has done it's job. It sounds like you need a good Dr. that can get you adjusted correct and then stay with him or her.

    Good Morning America

I think your weightloss is great. I think the less one has to lose the slower the process and the closer you get to goal the harder it gets. But hey I am down 50 lbs in 6 months, I would never have done that on my own.
  14. I went thru the same thing and finally went in and he did my fill under floro. Only added .75cc's but wow what a diffference it made. Down 4 pounds in about 4 days. Boy do I have to eat slow now.....found the sweet spot, atleast for awhile!!!

    Fill under floro...so cool.

Update: it has been 31/2 days since the fill with floro and have dropped 4lbs. I couldn't get that darn scale to move for the last 8 weeks no matter what I did. I will say that I have to eat really slow now, so slow I finally give up as I lose interest. Who knew chewing was such great exercise. I have gone back to my protein shakes once a day to make sure I am getting enough protein.

Banded three days ago - is this normal?

Move around a lot, short small walks help and the more you do the better you will feel. I agree by week 3 I felt like my old self just lighter. Second week was the worst for me as I went back to work and sitting was uncomfortable.
  17. I agree go to the ER and then find another Doctor. Did you go to the same place to have it removed as you did when it was put in? and did you use the same Dr.? It seems strange that everyone treated you so indifferent.
  18. How strange as I remember going to a seminar and my surgeon saying if you smoke the only sugery he will do on you is the band. Interesting all the different information out there even between Dr's. Start by doing something simple like walking 10 mins. you will feel so much better and atleast with me helps control the urge to smoke. Then work up to 60 mins. by adding 10 mins a week. By the time you get to 60 mins you won't want to even skip a day. It's addictive. I let myself have one day off a week but I look forward to it as that is MY time. It really helps control those addictions we are prone to.
  19. Stress from worrying about it could be part of the problem. Maybe your too tight? No one can make you take it out if you don't want to, but wouldn't it be nice to know just whats going on with the band? Wait and see if it's caused from that time of the month and if things continue you should do something about it before it gets to bad. Could be a small slip that would be corrected with an unfill? Don't let it get to the point where your only option is having the band removed. Good Luck !

  22. Hello all, Have lost 45 pounds up to now. Go for a fill on Monday, which I need as I haven't lost much this month. As I get closer to my goal the weightloss has slowed. I walk 4 miles 7 days a week which has really toned the body. I have had very few stuck episodes and mostly with chicken that I haven't chewed enough. I am happy with my progress and with the band.

    Restriction finally

I am beginning to realize when you have less than 75 to 80 pounds to lose it's harder, for me anyway. Everytime I get a fill I lose 5 pounds right away then lose my restriction. It's been 14 weeks and I am averaging 3 pounds a week and hoping I can keep that pace for the last 30 pounds. Look at it this way you have lost AND maintained a 30 + pound loss. Like you I only have 5 cc's in the band and I would rather go slow with the fills and weightloss than to be to tight and worry about getting stuck and possible complications.
  24. Sorry to hear you are having to do this alone, not fun but maybe the surgery will keep your mind on other things. At 55 my surgery went great and to be honest I sometimes think it would be easier to not have to be cooking for someone else. He likes my weight loss but isn't interested in getting healthy. I am determined to do this no matter what. I can't believe what a difference 40 pounds makes in my outlook on life. Hang in there, you won't regret it....best thing I ever did for myself.
  25. 22 pounds in 7 weeks is fantastic, I would tell those so called friends to (well I shouldn't say that here, huh?) I know this sounds alittle evil, but I would tell your friend "Your right you better not get it" then keep doing what your doing and watch her squirm as you get skinny!!!! LOL and everytime she asks how much you have lost say "oh, still only 22 pounds....." and smile. Don't let anyone let you think that 22 pounds isn't great because it is.
