  1. I guess I may be getting a bit anxious. But no period for me. Menopause took care of that 2 years ago.
  2. Exactly! I'm just hoping that it will kick into gear here soon. I mean what choice do we have it to keep ding what we're doing. Which is whole point of doing something ass drastic as surgery. So we can't bale when we get discouraged. I'm going to try adding more calories, water, and protein and see if that helps. Although I feel my protein and water has been going considering what I'm limited to.
  3. I'm feeling exactly the same way.
  4. I understand Stalls. This is not a stall. It's a never starting.
  5. As I said, I'm getting more than the required protein most days and plenty of fluids. No I didn't lose anything pre op. Prior to surgery my calorie intake was probably around 2000-2500
  6. I can certainly see your concern. I can't imagine he'd have done anything you didn't sign a consent for, especially without telling you. Surely there's a good answer for what you're seeing on the report. Please do keep us updated. Praying for positive answers for you. FYI I am also a band to sleeve revision. Day 11
  7. Some friends of mine have introduced me to this thing called Ulla. It's supposed to help you remember to drink. It goes on your cup or bottle. I've got one ordered but haven't tried it. Maybe you should look into it. I have a hard time getting more than about 20-24 oz in.

    Low acid coffee

I've been drinking my coffee since day 3. My Dr allowed it but I must say it tastes the same.

2 Days Post Op, any tips?

Sounds pretty normal to me except that you are allowed a lot more to eat than I was. The first 5 days I was only allowed clear liquids. Applesauce and tomato soup didn't come for a week.

    I messed up

My pre-op was 7-10 days of South Beach Diet Phase 1 which is basically low carb high protein. Then liquids only the day before surgery. My surgeon also said it was to shrink the liver and even had me sign something stating I understood if the liver was too fatty, swollen, or firm he would abort the procedure. I was not very successful with my pre op except the liquids the day before. I mean I didn't blow it to the wind but I didn't lose anything. Guess it was ok.
  11. Man this has been a crazy day. Started out feeling great! I couldn't believe how good I felt! Then around 2pm I went down hill fast. I got super hungry for the very first time. I felt so weak I could hardly get up and walk. My vision was blurry. I was almost in tears when I took an account of all I'd done and had taken in prior and I realized I hadn't drank nearly enough water. So I fixed that over the next two hours and I feel so much better. Plus my dr called and gave me the go ahead to try some applesauce or yogurt tonight to help with the hunger. I gots tell you. That was the best applesauce ever!! One more day almost behind me. Still looking forward to "real food" but hanging in there.

    Leak test

Perfectly described my experience as well only mine was what appeared to be about 1/4-1/2 of a cup. A huge amount to drink at that point! And let me just testify that it is by far the most horrid taste I've ever put in my mouth. I don't know how I didn't throw up. Ugh!!!

    Band stopped working

I had heartburn and could not sleep because of it. If I ate anything after 8pm I had sleep upright just to get even the smallest amount of sleep because it would wake me up. No pain at all. But immediately I could eat things like pasta and bread that I couldn't before and larger amounts of other things. There was still restriction but it wasn't the same. My slip was only diagnosed when I had an egd in order to be approved by insurance for removal of the band and revision to sleeve.

    Band stopped working

Same with me. Banded in 2011. Worked then it didn't. I actually felt mine slip. I'm now 6 days post op from having it removed and converting to the sleeve. I'm really glad I did even though this by far the tough part of the journey.

3 years out, starting to struggle

Go with your instincts. Start over with a day or two of liquids. Maybe that will remind you if all the hard work you did and give the boost of encouragement you need to restart your plan. You can do it!

    Day 1 post op

The incisions do take a good while to completely heal. I'm speaking not only from this experience but my past experience when I had my band in 6 years ago. But they will heal and become hardly noticeable. If it gets too bad you ibuprofen helps me. Approved by my dr of course. Hang in there. We can get to the better side of this. What choice do we really have now, right? Stay positive. You will feel better soon.

    Missing food: so emotional

After reading all of the responses I'm so encouraged. Thank you guys for coming back and giving of your time to encourage those of us just beginning the journey.

    Missing food: so emotional

I totally relate. I'm only 6 days out but I feel the same way. Can't wait to be far enough out to be able to eat real food again, even if it's only a few bites.

    Day 1 post op

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. I'm 6 days out and feeling better everyday but really wanting to eat something crunchy. What's making you so miserable?

    Levinox injections

Ok so I managed to get one done this morning. Well my husband did.

    Levinox injections

Thank you all for kindly responding. I did speak to my dr about it yesterday. He said it was just precautionary and he just does everything he can to prevent clots. If I don't do them most likely I'll be fine but it's more like insurance. He still suggested I do it. But if I choose not to then ok. I still feel guilty for not doing so I may to get at least a few in during the time frame. I am already very active so I know that helps. Weird thing is I'm not afraid of needles. Idk what's holding me back. I think it's trying to do it to myself. I'll see if it's easier letting my husband do it. Thanks again!
  22. I was just reading all of these very kind and compassionate replays to my struggles with the band early on and I wanted to update you all. First of all I just caught the typo where I said in my last post "I'm a tough but to crack" [emoji102] lol! Yeah that was supposed to say nut. Anyway my struggles never really changed. My mind change after a few adjustments to the band and I began a very low carb regime for about a year in 2015. I dropped another 30 lbs! Then my band slipped because of my own poor choices and I gained most of that back. By this point there's been much talk and much proof that the sleeve is s better option for some so I spent the last year or more researching a revision, while suffering with a slipped band. As of last Friday, 4/14/17 I have been converted to the sleeve. Now I'm on a whole new journey but with a lot more life experience and education behind me. And I know I have a great support group of total strangers who actually care enough to take the time to respond during the tough times. Thank you all again!

    Levinox injections

I think I'll just call the dr and ask if it's really that important for me to do since I have no health problems.

    Levinox injections

I'm not sure why I'm so hesitant. The shot part is part of it but I think I could get over it but I just don't like the idea of thinning my blood for two weeks. Idk why. I just don't think it's necessary for me. But idk.

    Levinox injections

No I have no history of clots or anything else. I'm actually very healthy other than being overweight.
