  1. So here I sit Saturday afternoon 4 days post op. I weighed in at 295 the morning of my surgery and weighed 299 right after. This morning....281lb!! My experience has been nothing but pleasant. No pain, gas has been under control, but I have been hungry. sugar free popsicles have been my saving grace. I am so excited to go from Clear liquids to something with a bit more substance. One day at a time. I have been feeling so good in fact that I stood in line yesterday for two hours for my iPAD 2! LOL! Probably not one of the smartest things I have ever done, but I was determined. So hang in there all of you! I won't say it's the easiest thing to get through, but I thought it would be a lot harder!
  2. To all of you on the verge of having your bands placed soon, I write to you from the hospital I had mine put in earlier this morning. I assure you that my experience thus far has been pleasant. I'm in zero pain. A bit of gas remains from the carbon dioxide that is put in your abdominal cavity, but I'm doing well. Ice chips are my best friend! LOL! Tomorrow, clear broth! Anyhow...have no fear fellow future Bandsters....take it from me, it's a walk in the park!
  3. Glad my words have helped out many. I'm home as of this morning. No pain, best way I can describe how feel post op, a bit of indigestion feeling. I am hungry though. I'm hoping once I can tolerate real food, the real hunger pains will subside. There's lots of swelling that I could see on my barium swallow this morning, which thankfully will subside. Overall, I feel great. It's actually quite a surprising feeling. Good luck with your progress as well.
  4. Thats great news! It'll be here before you know it. My boss had the band put in on 7/7/2010, today he told me that it's the best thing that has ever happened to him. Great to hear 5 days before mine goes in!!
  5. Looking for anyone who is getting banded the same day as me. There's something oddly comforting knowing that others will be having the procedure on the same day.
  6. Glad to see so many people will having the procedure on the 8th, or very close to it at least. I'll be thinking of all of you. It is comforting knowing that I'm not alone. This forum has been great. I have a great support team in my life, but really everyone here on this forum are truly the only ones that can understand what we're going through. Thanks everyone for "being there"!!
  7. I'm getting banded the day before! I sooooooo know how you're feeling. I start my pre-op diet this Sunday. Tonight I'm diving into a nice prime rib...I feel it may be my last one for awhile! LOL! Hang in there...just know you're not alone.
  8. Great attitude! It's a shame that some people out there have to be so negative. Way to NOT let them bring you down! I'm right there with you...on March 8th we both will be taking a that proverbial leap of faith and we will not fail!!
  9. So glad to know we'll be "together". I'm scouring all these threads for liquid diet recipes. 10 days of nothing but liquids. Talk about a shock to the system!!!
  10. Oh awesome!!! I'm a bit nervous with this pre-op diet. I'm suppose to start it this Saturday, but I'll be still on vacation. Am I suppose to realisticly start a liquid diet while on vacation. Instead of 10 days, it's going to have to be a 9 day liquid diet.
  11. I start my pre-op diet in 5 days. Tick...tock...tick...tock.
