  1. Thank you all so much! I figured it would get easier as the month went on, but I was starting to hate that I got the lap band. I called my Dr. and have an appointment this afternoon to get an unfill. YES! Slider foods are the enemy! Right now I am not even able to eat fish or a salad, so I've been eating whatever I could keep down. It was so annoying that I would not even want to eat, which isn't good either. I love healthy food and I am excited about being able to eat normal, healthy foods. I don't think eating should be unpleasant. I want to enjoy this ride. Anyway, thanks again!
  2. So I had my first fill after surgery on April 6th. Since my surgery I have lost almost 30 pounds. I am at a stand still in my weight loss. Maybe I shouldn’t complain because 30 pounds is a lot of weight and I have gotten so many compliments. I’m thinking about never getting a fill again, because everything I eat gets stuck unless it is something that is unhealthy like Cheetos. I have eaten them so much that I can’t stand the taste anymore. So, are there any healthy recipes out there that will allow me to stay healthy and not get stuck!!! I threw up almost every day last week because nothing goes down. It’s almost like torture…so if there is anyone out there who can help me make this a pleasant weight loss journey I would appreciate your feedback.
  3. I honestly believe that my mother wants me to be fat! I told her about my surgery yesterday and that I have tobe on Clear liquids today and Monday to prepare for surgery on Tuesday...so she brings in super nachos from one of my favorite restaurants! I was doing well, keeping myself occupied and she comes in with this to go box. I felt like an ANIMAL who couldn't stop eating!!!!! I really feel bad now. I was wondering what will happen because my doc was pretty serious about consuming only clear liquids...wow! I hope that I can do this. I hope that I stick to this...I really want to lose weight and be healthy...she shouldn't have brought the nachos...but I shouldn't have eaten them... Does anyone know if this will effect my surgery?
  4. Thanks again everyone for the feedback! I want to reply to everyone, but I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate through this site...LOL. But I really appreciate the support, the advice, the encouragment, and the wisdom. You all are awesome!
  5. Pre-op is going well. I don't have to do only liquids like everyone else...not sure why. I have to eat two meals a day with liquids in between, being sure that I eat breakfast. I'm having hunger pains, but I kinda like the feeling of it. I haven't let myself feel hungry in a long time...hmmm...perhaps this should be a blog... =)

Great job, girl!!! 8 pounds makes a huge difference! You aren't in your 270s anymore! YAY! I'm not going to weigh myself until I go in for surgery. I don't want to get discouraged and I want to be shocked when I see how much I've lost doing the pre-op diet. 11 days for you and 12 days for me until surgery! We are on our way!!!
  7. Elizabeth. you are toooo funny!!! LOL!!! Jim... I only have to do liquids two days before my surgery...and before that just two meals a day liquids in between...i've had a few "last suppers"...lol
  8. Thank you all soooo much for the support! I am looking forward to being a whole new me!!! Jim in MA!! Let's do it, baby!!! =)
  9. Thank you, dear! I agree. Also, we have some things in common. I am 280 (4 lbs shy of 276) and my goal weight is 170! And our surgery date is a day apart. Good luck to you on your journey to being fit and fine!!! =)
  10. I have told basically everyone that I am getting banded and only a few people support my decision. My supervisor said, "You eat too much! Hopefully that band won't bust!" She went on to say that I will gain double the weight back that I lose and my stomach will hang to my knees...blah blah blah. FYI: she's fat! I can use the word "fat" because I fall under the category....lol. Another friend of mine thinks that I won't lose weight with the band because she didn't. She says I will be mad at myself later. I LOVE the negative feedback!!!! I LOVE proving people wrong!!! My lap band surgery is on March 8th! I will be successful in this journey! I'm not worried about the people who say I can't make it or don't believe in me! This is something I am doing for myself and for my children. I believe this procedure is perfect for me and I believe I will be a success story! I know that because I found this website and there are plenty of people on here who are a success story! Can't WAIT until March 8th!!!!
  11. I AM!!! So glad I'm not in this alone...(holding tightly to your hand and taking the leap into the skinny/healthy/sexy/fine ocean!!!))) WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!
