Nausea
I'm about 3 weeks post op and this is happening to me all the time. I take meds daily for reflux so im not sure why I am still nauseated all the time. It gets worse as I eat, and I only eat a bit or 2 in one "meal." Hopefully some reflux meds work for you!

Help I Don't Want To Eat Or Drink
I didn't mind the powders pre-op. Post op was a totally different story. I hate them now! So needless to say im not even coming close to my protein intake as I am 8 days post op. Thank you for sharing the Isopure drinks. I will need to try them for sure. DPS Nutrition has them for $42 bucks for 12 bottles. Pricey yes but hopefully worth it.

How Long Are You Out Of Work?
I was back to work 6 days post-op. I am a Financial Manager for a large law firm so its mainly desk work. I only went back 6 hrs a day for that first week but now I am back full time. The hardest part is that you are tired and weak from the lack of calories.

Confused With Post Op Diet

Sleeved On 4/24
I'm now 5 days post op and feel great. Very little pain and and hardly ever hungry. I'm VERY bored with liquids and soups already. I have had a little chili and other things that's aren't in my diet until next week. Hopefully I'm not hurting anything, I feel fine and only take a couple bites and I'm done. I started at 322pds and was 308 day of surgery. Today I was 295. Down 13pds in 5 days!!!

Calling All Men To The Man Room!
I had surgery on 4/24 with a hiatal hernia repair. My surgeon didn't know about the hernia until he got into the surgery. He fixed everything while he was in there. I'm 24 6'3 and started at 325 pds. Day of surgery I was 315. I'm down to 305 only 4 days post op. My goal is 200-225ish.

1St Day Home From Hospital
I'm 3 days post op and first day home. I think it's easier to drink warm liquids rather than cold. Try some warm broth. Just keep sipping allday long. Never keep water more than an arm reach away. It's gets better everyday.

About To Go Into Surgery!
Had my surgery in Saranac Lake NY by surgeon Michael Hill. Was a great experience. Everyone at the hospital was amazing. I am doing very well. I'm home and still taking pain meds but feel well. Trying to get my water in, it's hard to do at first but I just keep sipping!

Surgery Tomorrow And Im Freaking Out Mentally.
I have surgery tomorrow and im freaking out in the head about if im doing the right thing. I know its what I need for long term weight loss success. I guess im scared that Ill eat like a bird forever and be looked at differently and wont feel confident out at dinners with friends anymore. But obviously I am overweight because I abuse food and somewhat have an addiction to it. Breaking any addiction is hard, so I shouldnt expect this is be any different. Does anyone have any advice? Its hard to talk to people about it because I dont know anyone that has had it done. I dont have a lot of support and everyone keeps saying that Im not that big and dont need something this serious. Help!

Hello Fellow Losers
Hey guys! Its nice to see more men posting. I am a 24 year old guy that has my VSG approval for 11/3/11. Can anyone help me out with life post op? I am nervous about social settings, going out to dinner, going on dates? How does the sleeve's restriction affect any of these?

FLMA or Leave of Absence question?
I took 7 vacation days that I had left plus the 4 weekend days and then I'm back to work. I told work that I'm having a surgery done and I will be totally unavailable for those days. I'm hoping this is enough time for me, if not I'm in trouble. I handle a lot at work, and there is no one cross trained to do my job, therefore I have a LOT of prep work to do to get ahead.

Timeframe for going back to work?
Thanks for all the insight! I'm using my last week of vacation time but feel its worth it and should be enough time. I have a high pain tolerance and normally recover quickly!

Timeframe for going back to work?
I was wondering what the average timeframe people are taking off from work for recovery. I work as an accountant and am planning a Thursday surgery. I plan on taking the rest of that week off and all of the following and returning to work the next Monday. So basically 10 days off in a row. Should this be ok?
