wow...has it really been that long since I posted on here?!?!

I took my wife home today. She is recovering nicely. She agreed that taking the drain out SUCKED.

My wife is getting sleeved right now. This is going to be a grand journey.

Tomorrow is the big day...for my wife. She gets sleeved in the morning. I get to see what it's like on the other side. She is so excited. I'm happy for her...and our grocery bill.

So yesterday I was going to wear a smaller size pants to church since I have lost 50+ lbs. I had been wearing a 46 and thought I would wear a 44. I put them on and they were a bit snug but I wore them anyway. I changed after church and looked at the pants a little closer only to discover I was wearing a size 40. no wonder they were snug.

I'm home...again.

Well here I am just 5 days post op and, against everyone's advise, I have been on the scale a couple of times. Well today I broke the 300 lbs mark. I am officially under 300 lbs. I can't believe it. My wife's favorite part is that I don't snore anymore. She said if I don't lose another pound, it was worth it.

I'm going for a walk.. I have got to get out of this house.

I came home today...trying to sip on some water and some protein they gave me at the hospital I gurss I should step on the scale sometime today. I hope it has moved

Well. It's officiL. I am sleeved. I feel pretty good getting to take a nap.

getting ready to leave for the hospital. I have to be there at 5:30. starting to get a little nervous I guess. but I'm ready.

Well I didn't quite make my pre-op weight goal. I wanted to be under 300 lbs before surgery but this morning I weighed in at 305.4. Still that's down 35 lbs and I guess I still have a chance. Clear liquids today might just do it for me.

I guess I am one of those people addicted to the scale. It finally moved again today. It has been stuck at the same weight for the last 5 days. 4 more days and I get my sleeve. yay!!

one week into my pre op diet. last couple of days have been pretty hard. feeling a little dizzy and queasy. sick of water. one week from today and I get sleeved though. feeling pretty good about my weight though, down 30 lbs pre op is pretty darn good.

Day 1 of pre-op diet is in the books. I must say that it has not been too bad yet. Let's just hope it continues to go well. 13 days till my surgery.

I bought a new scale yesterday...man what a difference. I am now down 18 lbs. I start my two week pre-op diet Monday.

I think I need a new scale...I checked my weight before I went to bed last night and after I got out of the shower this morning and it says I gained 5.6 lbs overnight. Can that be possible?

Welcome Pete. turns out you are just down the street from me. I'm in the 40229. I am having surgery on July 11th with Dr Oldham. Have you gone to any of the support group meetings on the third thursday of each month. maybe I'll see you there.

I'm no longer a "Jewel of June". Surgery is scheduled for July 11th.

ok so for the last couple of months my wife, since we are both getting sleeved, has been reading VST over my shoulder. but now that she has insurance approval she has registered her own profile. I guess I have to watch what I say from now on...lol

Yeah. My wife got her insurance approval today.

So my wife can't get off of work on the day/day after I am expecting to schedule my surgery. should I have it with her not there or postpone it 2 weeks until she can be there?

Stress test is next week...Surgery consult is June 9th...then the two week diet. Looks like surgery will be June 27th

Uugghh..I hate insurance companies.
