Yay For Non Scale Victories!
Pink, I had a patient come into my office the other day and asked, "Who is the new girl?" This came from a patient who has been coming to my office since the 1980's! She just saw me from the side and was totally shocked when I turned around and she could see me directly.

Yay For Non Scale Victories!
Thanks. My not so secret secret is journaling. I still don't feel like I'm in the green zone. I still get hungry sooner than 4 hours. But I weigh and measure everything and stick to that. Sometimes I go over, but for the most part I stick to 1000 calories a day up to 1300.

Band Buddy:)
Sorry to hear that. I really believe that my support friends have helped me keep on track. I attend atleast 2 of the 4 weekly Monday night meetings and also meet with my emotional eating group once a month even though our 6 week course ended last April. Support is huge, I am here for you. Message me anytime! PS.....let's see them try and lose 10 pounds let alone 50!

First Fill Tomorrow, Maybe?
Honestly, I prefer my PA over the doctor! I don't feel a thing when she does it. They push and feel around to locate it. Mine gives a little something beforehand to numb it,but I don't feel anything she does. The dr just had a heavier hand while trying to find it before. Now you can feel mine no problem.

I admit, I ate 2 slivers of shredded cheese while making dinner for my family one night and I thought I had died and went to heaven!

3 Fills So Far And Still Hungry Between Meals
I'm in the same boat and next week will be my 1 year anniversary. I have had 7 fills. I am told I have 6.5 in my size 10 band. I get hungry about 2 hours later as well. They put me on phentermine, but I don't want to take a pill to control my hunger. I go in on the 7th and hope that fill will do it.

Yay For Non Scale Victories!
Yay for non scale victories! Today I was left to use the last towel in the closet, the one that no one likes to use. And you know it must be small if no one else wants to use it, considering I "WAS" the biggest one in the house! Well, today that towel wrapped around me and I was able to tuck it under my arm! WOO HOO! I am reaping the benefits of a new, healthy lifestyle. I am so thankful everyday for what the band has helped me achieve!

Onederland Is Soooo Sweet!
I was in the same boat as you. Lost 13 pounds the first month and was so dissapointed. Everyone else seemed to be losing 20+ that first month. I think I was down 18 by month two, still bummed. But just think what your scale could be showing you if you didn't have the surgery! Here I am almost a year out and down more than my first goal of 75 pounds! And to add to that, I still don't think I am in the green zone. I have followed the rules of my doctor and figured out what works for me. I am hoping that my fill on the 7th will get me to the perfect spot. So hang in there, the weight will come off!

Having To Start A New Beginning
Ok, because I don't want to gain any of this back, let us learn from your mistakes. What was it that you did differently from when you first got the band that made you gain back the weight? I haven't had a hard time adjusting to the food because I still eat pretty much the same breakfast, lunch and dinners I had before except minus the breads, just smaller portions. Plus my meal is more protein than carbs and before it was the opposite. My downfall was all the snacking I did. From eating chips and sweets before it was dinner time, or lunch for that matter! But if I ate like that now, my pouch would get stuffed and then lunch or dinner would definitely get stuck. Believe me, I have learned from my mistakes. But in the beginning I was a slow learner! Thanks for sharing, and good luck. You did it once, you WILL lose it again!

Please Help Me :(
I like to stay around 1000 a day and not go over 1300. There are some days I have had 1600, but for the most part between 1000-1100. Way better than the 3000 I was prob eating before!

Never Had Surgery Before...nervous!
Good for you and welcome aboard! Maybe they can give you something to take to calm your nerves before you arrive at the hospital for surgery. As far as the fills are concerned, I actually never feel her do it. I can fill the sensation of the saline going through the tubing, which is kinda of a gurlge, but no pain. Good luck!

Looking For Some Post-Surgery Advice
I had protein shakes, protein soup (terrible tasting I may add!) and sugar free popsicles. I did like to freeze the shakes because I am an eater not a drinker! Other than that, I think I was good to go. I did like wearing the support band they gave me, I know others who had lapband and didn't get one. I had a postop dr visit on day 12 and she let me start eating soft foods that day. I made it through the 12 days, but I was dying for some food!
