I am having the same problem with my Fiance. He is being so stubborn. He thinks I won't succeed and that I never tried hard enough. He is upset that I made this decision for myself and by myself, he thinks he should have a say in it. I understand that we are in a partnership here and should make decisions together, but this is my body and my health and I think it really is my decision to make. So I was very frank with him. I told him that this was something I had to do for myself and that I'm sorry that he doesn't agree with it, but I promised that it would make our lives better and he would be so much happier when it's done. I told him that I really needed his support on this. He decided to back down and just support me. I think you need to just be honest with your wife and tell her you need her support and will be sad, but okay if you don't have it.

I read a book today that said that even the most finicky Protein Shake person would love these recipes

I looked at your gallery and I think you look better overall now. Maybe it's a psychological thing you are suffering from. Having a hard time accepting the change.

I will be 4 weeks this Wednesday! Holy crap it's coming up soon! I'm freaking out

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have been getting so upset about it too. But something that makes me feel better is that you look at the requirements for this surgery, and one of them is having tried and failed before. And still you see a good success rate among all the patients. Plus, this one is different than RNY because it gets rid of most of the ghrelin factor, bonus!

trust me, I know EXACTLY how that goes. I went to my seminar beginning of Feb, just recently had my psych eval and now I have to wait about 3 weeks to hear aback from insurance. Waiting...

I have PCOS and it was regulated well with birthcontrol, but recently had to get off birthcontrol but it seems it's still being regulated with the IUD that I have. I am interested to see if the PCOS just goes away completely after I have my surgery.

You know, my fiance isn't super supportive of it either. But what I told him was that I appreciate his concern, but that it is my life and this is something I have to do for myself.
Now, a sister should have even less say in it than a fiance! Tell her that you know she thinks it's a bad idea, but this is something you want to do for yourself and she needs to BUTT OUT!

The sleeve is much less drastic, and doesn't limit the types of food you can be eating. However, it does get about the same results as the bypass without al lthe negative side effects. The sleeve can always be turned into a bypass down the road

Any carbs will go through you a lot quicker than the Protein will. Which is why you are supposed to limit the carbs

Be careful. Those are slider foods. no wonder they go down so easy

My doctor is scheduling me before I even do the prerequisites because my insurance is through the hospital I am going through so he knows I will be approved.

You could be burning very low amounts of weight. Have you checked your thyroid?
I have thyroid problems, and no matter what I did I gained weight. Now it is fixed and I have stopped gaining, and I am getting ready to have the sleeve.
You may be burning very low amounts of calories, an the sleeve takes you down to about a thousand calories a day.

Hey there girl! I know how you feel. I just made my surgery date and I am feeling guilty about this decision, like I'm a burden and I am taking the easy way out.
I went to BariatricChoice.com and got some Protein Water and sugar free pudding that is high Protein.< /p>
You can always e-mail gaylecampbell-adams@u.boisestate.edu if you need support. I'm here for you

I am super nervous, so any advice you can give would be great
What can I do to prepare,
And tell me about your story! I'd love to hear what to expect during surgery.
Thanks everybody!

My name is Gayle. I was originally going to have the Lap Band, but the surgeon doesn't want me to do it so he is suggesting the sleeve. I have decided on the sleeve and am pretty nervous about it. My surgery is April 6th

I am having my first consultation with my surgeon (Dr. Valentine) on Monday (which is Valentine's day, how funny is that?).
I scheduled my visit with the psychologist but it's a whole month away that they could see me!
I am really hoping to have my surgery in the middle of April, because I have a pretty hectic school schedule. I guess we will just see!
Did anybody have that psychological evaluation? What goes on during those appointments?

I can't decide if I want to name it Bandy, or Mr. Bandit, something along those lines.
However, I bought a pillow pet to help me through the surgery and I named him Mr. Lappy Bear.
