  1. It does curb your appetite! It depends on your doctor though. My first fill was 5.5ccs which is a lot apparently.. a lot of doctors go 0.5ccs, or 1cc at a time, in which case it'll take longer to curb your hunger.. I'm at a point I can go 5 hours without eating.

I'm not sure if I will need more, I'm thinking maybe a tad more in the future. It takes a few weeks for the fill to take full effect. I think if you get very little Fluid in your fills then you go every few weeks.

  2. I had my surgery about 5 weeks ago and am going in for my first fill next week. I have had no restriction and am very miserable. I am aware that I am suppose to follow a program; so this is not the issue. My issue is the feeling of hunger after meals and in between. I got the band in hopes to have help with curbing my appetite. I know everyone's bodies are different. I want to know, if you have had a fill can you tell me your experience of appetite control; how long did it last? How long did you have to wait for your second fill?

  3. I don't think I can really help you with food choices however, I can refer you over to a free site that will help you track all calories, Proteins, carbs and exercises. It is Sparkpeople.com. You can put in just about any food you east and it will break it down for you. Good luck

  4. thank you. i feel better today only had cereal and Jello and Protein Shake. how long have you had your band and can you give me food ideas you are at a good weight and are you excersing i not big on that so walking for now until i get used to band. any food ideas would be so helpful. maybe i eat to fast and that is why it hurts. have you eaten pizza before and had any problems? the stomach flu was going around school 24hour maybe i had a touch of that cuz i have never gotten sick. thank you for your support i am new at this and i was ready to stop i feel restricked.

  5. Thank you for this info. I have been getting discouraged since I got banded. I lost 6 lbs and have come to a halt after I started eating somewhat normal food. I am counting all my calories however, the scale is not budging. I feel very little restriction and feel I have went through all this for nothing. I have been looking for someone who at least knows a little more about lap band so I can ask questions. I think you summed it up in one post. I guess I will see how it goes after my first fill.

  6. I was banded on 01-20-2011. I was told I had to be on Clear Liquids for two weeks; it was the most horrible thing I ever had to do. My physician told me after 1 week to start blended foods. I started doing this about 4 days ago. I am still wanting to eat normal foods. It seems everything I see is foods I want to eat. I sometimes feel so desperate I want to blend foods I would not normally eat just to be able to eat something different. I know this is not normal for me however, this makes me feel as if I'm off to a bad start.. I was told I had to continue one blended foods for another week. How do I know when my body is ready for different food, more solid food?

  7. I was banded on 01-20-2011. I feel I am completely restricted on everything I eat however, I know in a few weeks I will be able to eat once again. I have always craved sweets. I know I will be able to eat some and many other foods I love however; this to me is odd; I have never been able to do this. I know I will need to still monitor what goes into my body. I am really scared that because I have the band I will have the mind set that I can eat what I want. Is there many people out there that have similar issues? Is there many people who have had failure?

  8. Hi, live in Los Angeles County and I want to change doctors for my fills. I would like a doctor who uses the fluoroscopy technique. I would even be willing to travel to Tijuana, Mexico if I could get a referral from someone. I hear that pricing is much more affordable than my 350.00 quote that I'm getting from my present doctor. Thank goodness I get 6 for free. I've had three and I'm worried about where to go after I've used them all up. If you have any recommendations for anyone within the Southern California region I would appreciate the tips.

    Thanks
