It does curb your appetite! It depends on your doctor though. My first fill was 5.5ccs which is a lot apparently.. a lot of doctors go 0.5ccs, or 1cc at a time, in which case it'll take longer to curb your hunger.. I'm at a point I can go 5 hours without eating.
I'm not sure if I will need more, I'm thinking maybe a tad more in the future. It takes a few weeks for the fill to take full effect. I think if you get very little Fluid in your fills then you go every few weeks.

Check into http://www.fillcentersusa.com; they should be able to locate a Dr. in your area. They are very reasonably priced.

I have the same problem with Drs. My Dr. is 4 hours out. I found Fill Centers USA at (http://www.fillcentersusa.com) They should be able to find a Dr. in your area. They have very reasonable prices. I hope they can help you with what you are looking for; even if it is not a fill.

I had my surgery about 5 weeks ago and am going in for my first fill next week. I have had no restriction and am very miserable. I am aware that I am suppose to follow a program; so this is not the issue. My issue is the feeling of hunger after meals and in between. I got the band in hopes to have help with curbing my appetite. I know everyone's bodies are different. I want to know, if you have had a fill can you tell me your experience of appetite control; how long did it last? How long did you have to wait for your second fill?

Thank you for this info. I have been getting discouraged since I got banded. I lost 6 lbs and have come to a halt after I started eating somewhat normal food. I am counting all my calories however, the scale is not budging. I feel very little restriction and feel I have went through all this for nothing. I have been looking for someone who at least knows a little more about lap band so I can ask questions. I think you summed it up in one post. I guess I will see how it goes after my first fill.

I was banded on 01-20-2011. I was told I had to be on Clear Liquids for two weeks; it was the most horrible thing I ever had to do. My physician told me after 1 week to start blended foods. I started doing this about 4 days ago. I am still wanting to eat normal foods. It seems everything I see is foods I want to eat. I sometimes feel so desperate I want to blend foods I would not normally eat just to be able to eat something different. I know this is not normal for me however, this makes me feel as if I'm off to a bad start.. I was told I had to continue one blended foods for another week. How do I know when my body is ready for different food, more solid food?

I was banded on 01-20-2011. I feel I am completely restricted on everything I eat however, I know in a few weeks I will be able to eat once again. I have always craved sweets. I know I will be able to eat some and many other foods I love however; this to me is odd; I have never been able to do this. I know I will need to still monitor what goes into my body. I am really scared that because I have the band I will have the mind set that I can eat what I want. Is there many people out there that have similar issues? Is there many people who have had failure?

I was recently banded in TJ. I am currently looking for a good fill Dr in the county of Kern that charges reasonable fees for Mexico patients. Could anyone send me fill Dr.s in the Kern area along with costs?

I was just banded in TJ; they use the fluoroscopy technique. I believe they charge $100 a fill. You can contact my facilitator @ 760 779 9178; her name is Terry, she should be able to help you.

Hi, live in Los Angeles County and I want to change doctors for my fills. I would like a doctor who uses the fluoroscopy technique. I would even be willing to travel to Tijuana, Mexico if I could get a referral from someone. I hear that pricing is much more affordable than my 350.00 quote that I'm getting from my present doctor. Thank goodness I get 6 for free. I've had three and I'm worried about where to go after I've used them all up. If you have any recommendations for anyone within the Southern California region I would appreciate the tips.
Thanks

Do you all know there is a free tool very similar to this one? it is www.sparkpeople.com. These are the same exact tools however; you aren't using points. I have had great success using this tool. I also previously used Weight Watchers; to me, this is the same minus the cost.
