    Unrealistic goals

Hi Queenie- You and I are band sisters as I was banded on the same day and it also sounds like we have similar goals. I agree with the others regarding the weight loss and how to best approach. It will def get harder the closer we get to our goal. They key is cutting back the calories and adding in activity. I have been ok cutting back on food but have yet to move my fat ass and get in any exersize...maybe that should be my first mini goal...I need to even just take a walk around the block...ugh!

    UGHHH!!! Cheating!

So glad you posted this! I'm sure I should'nt say this I was eating pizza while reading this thread. Is it cheating or is it a choice. I chose to eat it and will eat accordingly for the rest of the day. I am almost 5weks post opp and just had my first fill last week. While I'm not saying you should eat pizza all the time I think that a little treat every now and then isn't so bad. I love this site b/c it is my primary place to go for support. I appreciate all and any input. We all come from different places and have different ideas of what weight loss and healthy living means to them. Don't be so hard on yourself. No one can be perfect ALL the time. Just do your best and take it one day at a time...YOU CAN DO IT!!! Peace~ Ally

    Greek Yogurt

I like the fage greek yogurt. I like both the 0% and 2% fruit varieties...If I get plain I will add all fruit strawberry or peach. I love the sour cream like consistency.

    First Fill

I am just over 4 weeks post op and had my first fill yesterday. All went wekk. Not much pain but very strange feeling. The Dr started with a lanicane shot which burned like hell but was over quickly. Next he felt around for my port which was pretty easy since its very close to the surface. Thats odd in itself since I can always feel it and even see where it is. Dr says that's fine based on my weight. Next the dr injected teh saline into the port. Its a very feeling b/c I could feel the Fluid entering the tube and band. It took only a few seconds to add 5cc's. That seems like a lot but the dr was comfortable with that. Not sure what I am now supposed to feel. I think there is some restriction but not sure what that should feel like. After the fill i drank about 8oz of Water to see how well it went down. I drank it down over about 5min. It seemed to go down just fine. I was told to see if it felt like the water was backing up or feel like it wasn't going down ok. Seemed like it went down ok. While I was drinking the water the needle was still sticking in me incase the water didn't go down well and the dr needed to take out some fluid. Now that was weiered. I didn't like seeing the needle just hanging out... All went well...the needle was taken out and now I am back to 2 days fluid, 2 days mush and 2 days soft food before going back to regular food. Today I'm a bit sore in the area but overall doing ok. My next fill will be in 6 weeks. I hope to loose 6-8lbs by then. Continued success to all. Peace~ ally

    First Fill

Thats what I figured...so what does restriction feel like to you? I'm not sure what I feel. Also were you a little sore after? I feel some pangs near my port or maybe near the band.

    Any february bandsters out there?

Hi Everyone! I was banded on 2/7 and I'm feeling great. I am down 25lbs so far. Yeah!!! I had my first fill yesterday and not sure if I am feeling any restriction. The dr added 5cc's. Seems like a lot but I feel fine. I am back on liquids for the next few days. So far so good...thrilled that I made the commitment to do this! Oh and I have yet to start going to the gym...not sure whats holding me back. I need to get motivated... Congrats to all!!! ally
  14. I cant say there is one food I really miss but what i miss is a good chow down of lots of food. Honestly I miss that totally over stuffed full feeling. I miss bulk. I am 4 weks out and haven't found anything I can't eat yet. I get my first fill tomorrow so maybe that will change.

    So miserable. Please help!

I have had to take correctol a few times...I take the on Fri/Sat night when I know I will be home the next AM. I have also had it kick in at the wrong time and it is NO fun... I am also having a hard time staying regular. I am adding benifiber to most of my food and drinking tons of water but nothing seems to work. I go for my first fill on Wed and plan to ask the dr. Good luck to you...being bunched up is no fun!!!

    My first follow up w/Dr

So I am 2 weeks and 2 days out from surgery and had my first follow up visit today. The Dr said I am healing nicely and has upped me to soft foods. I am scheduled for my first fill in 2 weeks. Since I'm not at all restricted and starting to feel hungry I just hope to make it through t he next few weeks without overeating. I did have my GP refill my phentermine rx. I know its a crutch but I promised this would be my last refill. I took it for the 2 months leading up to surgery and I found it very helpful. I still need to lean better eating habits and self control...baby steps right. The best news is that I am down 25lbs since I started on the nutrition program 3 months ago...wahoo!!! :D I also hope to add some activity to my day. There is a huge gym in my apt building but I have yet to use it...not sure what keeps holding me back...maybe its that I hate sweating or hate seeing all the young skinny girls. I am also so out of shape that working out hurts sometimes. I get out of breath so quickly. Back in the day I used to play tennis 5 days a week. I so badly want to play this year when the weather gets nicer. I signed up for lessons last year but had to quit after two weeks b/c I couldn't keep up with all the drills. I literally had to leave miss class b/c I couldn't breath...I was so embarassed and it makes me so sad to know how much I let myself go over the past 7 yrs... :( Ok so now I'm babbling...just wanted to check in. Hope everyone else is doing well too! Peace~ Ally

    My first follow up w/Dr

Yes I'm cleared to exercise...I just need to get my ass off the couch and do something. I was going to try Zumba on wii. I am a TOTAL spaz so I figured maybe doinging it in the privacy of my home would be best.

    What are you eating?

I will be 3 weeks post op on Monday. Saw my Dr on Wed and he moved me to soft foods...that goodness. I have been doing ok. Fish, masked sweet potato, mashed veggies and fruit...No MAJOR cheating...just a few minor slips. He said the next few weeks will be tough before I get my first fill b/c the swelling has gone down and I could eat totally normally (or not normally in my case) should I be so inclined. I need to keep control these next two weeks. But OMG the constipation is brutal. I will try the mirilax and see if that helps. I think I've pooped 3 times in the past 2.5 weeks...uuuggghhh!!! So glad someone else brought that up... Keep it up fellow bandsters! We can do this!!!

Glad all went well...wishing you a speedy recovery and lots of success!!!
  25. I say keep at what you are doing for now...Its way more then I do. I have visions of doing the couch to 5k but I have yet started to do any exersize...I need to get off my butt and go down 2 flights to the gym in my building... I'm not sure what always blocks me from working out. I can't seem to do it. Way to go keep it up.
