  1. I pretty much have the same intake as you. Lost huge in the beginning, now it's very slow, but it's coming off.
  2. Hey, it's good to hear from you. My weight loss has slowed considerably. Still want to lose another 75 -100. I try not to be discouraged. We will keep losing, just slowly. I'm trying to embrace who I am, something I have never really done before. My aunt only has the band and 2 years out she still loses little by little. It will be the same for us. :)

  3. Before and after surgery I was drinking 45-60 grams of Protein a day in a powder mix and skim milk (which added more protein as well). Then I found a convenient and tasty premixed Protein Drink that had 20g protein in each drink. So maybe 3 a day. After my weightloss slowed down some I decided I needed to cut my carbs down again like I did for my preop weightloss. I realized that skim milk has 13 g of carbs in every 8oz, and the convenient little Protein shakes had 20g carbs per container! So then I quit all that and tried to do low carb and high protein purely dietwise. But it was hard to get that much protein in like I had done before. Then I scoured the protein aisle at Target and found a low carb Protein shake. 17g of protein and 2g of carbs! I felt like such an idiot because it was probably right in front of my face the whole time. DUHHHH!!!
  4. Yeah that's the kind I drink too!
  5. Low carb protein shakes... best way to break a stall ever!!

  6. Whatever works for you is best! These shakes don't taste bad and I drink about 3 of them a day. I started these low carb ones yesterday and today the scale already went down a couple pounds! I had 3 of the low carb shakes during the day yesterday and then had a hamburger patty later on. It's weird how before surgery I was a carb-o-holic. Now I have no appetite for any kind of bread. Thank god for this sleeve!!!

WTF do I wear to this wedding?!

I had been watching this thread in the spring right when I had my surgery. I hope you had a good time at the wedding.

    Undergrad reunion coming up...

I feel for ya. Whenever I think back to college or high school I get very mad at myself for being such a complacent doormat. I wasn't very overweight back then and I let people tear me apart. I regret most of my time in high school. Can't really think back to it without cringing.

Has the medical establishment gone crazy?

The dude with EKG was a total creep, and the secretary had no manners or common sense whatsoever.

    One month out

    You are doing great!

    JUST CURIOUS....6 months out!

This really makes me feel so much better. I have been pretty hard on myself with my weight loss since it came off so fast early on. This week I have stepped up my workouts and I am going back to low/no carb. Will remeasure myself in 2 weeks. (crossing my fingers!)

    will I ever get sleeved????

Preop felt like the longest time of my life. From the point where I filled out my application with the doctor until the surgery it was 11 months for me. If I had lost the preop weight properly and didn't procrastinate then I could have had it done within 8 or 9. But I realize that I usually do everything the hard way. Hang in there!

    in tears right now

I had my surgery cancelled at first. I was devastated. I was pretty sick with a bad cold and I pretended everything was ok. I'm glad that they cancelled it now because when I went home my coughing got alot worse and I felt bad for a whole week after. I cried and worried all the time after too. But they will try to get you rescheduled right away. Especially if you have insurance covering it. Insurance coverage is usually issued and valid for a month past the date it was approved for. The doctors don't want any trouble from insurance people either! Good luck to you and let us know how you are doing.
  16. yeah, for sure do not say anything. I started a new job around my surgery and I had meant to have my surgery inbetween ending the first job and starting the next. Then my surgery got cancelled and rescheduled for when I was already at the new job. When I got the new date I just went to the scheduler and told her I was having a surgery soon and I didn't have much notice and they worked around it. I took only a week off and that was plenty, and I have a busy job where I'm on my feet all day. 2 weeks is probably better, but I didn't want to push it. with luck, you can have the interview and it may still take a couple weeks to get into the job anyway! good luck!

Not in the mood -warning TMI

I know my weight totally affected mine. When I was heavier I would just have the image of myself and how horrible I must look and couldn't even bear to mess around with my husband because I was overthinking it from the start. Feeling better now, but still overthinking it a bit.

Why must I finish it? WHY????

I still feel that way. But before surgery I would spend tons of money on healthy fruit and veggies and not really finish it, so this isn't as bad. Also, when I am trying not to waste, I make little portions and put them in little tupperware containers, and sometimes I get depressed when I grab one because it's so little. I really think I enjoyed eating alot before. Like a mental bandaid or something.

    Day 18 Post Op

I got pretty bummed after surgery for a little while. I think alot of it had to do with the crappy weather. It has rained almost everyday this spring to make for the wettest spring ever here in Buffalo. Just so dark and dreary. I am just thankful that we are not flooding and having horrible storms like some other areas. While even a week postop I felt an increase in energy, I got really bummed when I wasn't losing pounds a day. I actually gained a few pounds during my hospital stay from all of the IV fluids, so when I got home the weight just flew off for the first week and a half. When I'm feeling down, I just need to put myself in perspective. Like, look at what I was like last year at this time. Cheer up, things will get better, especially since you can have mushies now!

    Reward for 50 lbs lost?

I get botox every 3 months for migraines. They put 50 + injections in my forehead, back of my head, neck and shoulders. It hurts alot! I wouldn't ever consider that a reward. I'm too shy to go to a spa, but I love the idea of a really nice back massage!

Duuuuude! I am totally doing what you do!

    Post OP pain

I had a feeling like that postop and I really think it was my drain too. It ached most days but it hurt to touch the area and when I bent or twisted a little. After they took the drain out (which was sucked beyond belief), I felt great.
  24. You are doing fabulous!!!! What will you be like a year from now???
