    where is your port?

Mine is on my left side about two or three inches under my rib cage. When I lay down though it sort of goes to the side and I can't have fills laying down. Mine actually has dropped since surgery and my surgeon said not to worry that sometimes they do. As we lose weight the skin weight from the tummy will pull down on our muscle is how I understood it. I'm ok with where it is but sometimes when laying on my stomach it's annoying. It's all part of the deal.

Flipped Port Fixed in Doctor's office

Mine is slightly sideways too and I have to stand up to have a fill done because when lying down or sitting in a particular position it is too hard to get to. Sometimes when i wear tighter clothing i do feel it rub and I find myself pulling the waist band of my jeans up or below it to keep it from rubbing. My doctor felt that if I wanted it fixed she would surgically fix it but didn't think it was necessary to do that because she felt in time after losing more weight that it would probably lay correctly. I think I'm getting used to it. Yours may protrude more though. I'm not sure even how it would get turned sideways like ours has. Maybe how it's sewn into the muscle or something. I hope you find a resolve for it. For now I'm just holding out hoping that as i lose more it may settle in.

    One Year Out

Thank you for the congrats Bonnie and you are so right I am 80 pounds lighter and I should give thanks for that. And my band is probably over full as I often in the morning have a hard time with anything other than liquid. By evening I seem ok and can sometimes eat bread and steak. I guess in the am we tend to be tighter. My problem is truly eating comfort food to make myself feel better. So my weight has been stuck since my dad passed away which was back in July 10. I have mourned and probably too long. I know I need to get back up on the horse it's just been so hard. I figured this would be as good place as any to get some support before I can go to a support meeting next month. I know they will help but I have dreaded them because I feel embarrassed I guess.

    One Year Out

Today is my one year anniversary and I didn't come close to my goal. My father died in July and my life seemed to fall apart. I had been doing so well and lost 50 pounds prior to my surgery and then since my surgery in this one year i've only lost 30 pounds. I'm tearing myself up inside that here I am at 1 year and I'm 60 pounds away from my goal still. Did any of you go through this?
