  1. Phatphotog, please keep in mind that you will need to also meet your Protein requirements and be sure to check and see if you are taking in your carbs, sugars and your protein in the appropriate amount. Maybe you should look at my Fitness Pal that will also help you to track how you eat what you eat keep track of your protein, carbs and all of the above. I know different things work for different people you might also look at your calorie count if you're not getting enough calories your body is going to be storing fat (starvation mode) and that will also stall your weight loss.

  2. Hello everyone. Do you feel like you have hit a plateau? I had my gastric sleeve done May 5th. This was a conversion from lap band. Is there anything you can be doing different to re - kick start your weight loss? I am facing my short comings and realize it's time to push myself in my exercise regime. What is working for you and does not work for you?

  3. @@MisforMimi, it is best to get negative and positive feedback. The feedback wither it comes from "black" or "white" people should all be taken into consideration. Stay open minded and remember anything that is not natural to your body will have some sort of consequence. I have had a lap band revised to the gastric sleeve just over a week ago. I can attest to both sides of the coin. In the end it's really what you make it and your mind frame.

    Hope this helps

  4. surgery is May 5th and I have to do a one week liquid diet. I started the diet diet on Monday April 28th. My diet consists of oatmeal or grits and no sugar. sugar free Popsicles, pudding Jello, all the veggies veggies I can eat. broth and 3-4 Protein shakes a day. I am skimping on the Protein Shakes because I am lactose intolerant. I have been pretty hungry today which is Mt second day, I ate a bowl of grits for dinner and it was so delicious.

  5. I initially was denied. My denial was returned in 72 hours. I wrote an appeal letter and got an approval in 42 hours. Would have had my surgery this month but I was still on my estrogen patch. So I have to wait 30 days. I sure wish someone had told me to get off the hormones sooner. My preoperative is April 21st and I have to take a preoperative nutrition and diet class the same day. I am doing a lap band conversion to gastric sleeve. The lap band has ruined my quality of life. May 5th will come soon.

  6. i had my port replaced in december and all is well so far. idk if this is the place to ask...

i have been having lower abdominal pain for almost a week. it began in the lower left side, now it's in the front. super low. almost like menstrual cramps to the max!!!!! anyone else experience this? i feel like poo! it's making me not want to eat.

my husband keeps telling to go to the doctor. we don't have insurance, so that's my last resort.

    thanks in advance.

Go to the doctor, infection is a possibility. You can always make payments on doctor bills but your husband won't be able to get another you.

  7. Hi all, I have BCBS of MI and I am required to do a 6 month nutrition evaluation/weigh in, sleep study, receive a letter of support from my pcp, & psy evaluation. Nutrition eval could be omitted if I had 6 month documentation from a medical professional.

I'm truly grateful for the waiting period. You really have to train your body for the lifestyle change.

I also have BCBS of Michigan. If you go with St. John hospital, I think the wait maybe less.if that's an option for you. I am going with St. John and the only hoop that I have to jump through is have an approval by my regular doctor and then submit for approval. Hopefully, I will be having surgery in the next 3 weeks.
