Good Job, I was looking to see when you had your surgery but couldnt find it. I am now losing slowly myself. I have platue and as of last saturday, I put the scale up. Good for you!

I'm in Hillsboro. I was banded 7/27/2011. I have lost 45lbs so far.

I am doing the same thing with the pills at night. I don't take anything during the day because I am just tolerating the pain ( I think I should take something). The port incision is bothersome. I noticed that I cant bend over because i really feel the pain in that area. I still have not taken a poop yet. I hope it doesn't hurt when I do. I lay on the side that is opposite of th port at night and this relieves the pain a tremendous amount at night. maybe you should try that ( along with a pain med). Anyway, YEAH US! WE DID IT!

I am 4 days out and feeling the same way. I purchased red roasted pepper soup. It works for about 4 hours. Maybe we are getting hungry in the normal amount of time. Every three hours?

I was banded on Wednesday July 27th. I noticed that my tongue has been numb ever since. Has anyone else had this problem? Its only the tip of my tongue that is numb.

Ok, so it is 9:04pm. I am finishing off my protien shake and milk. I have another 2 hours left to drink anything. Iam nervous, anxious, scared, and excited. I am praying that GOD protects me tomorrow and I make it out ok. I have to be at the hospital at 7:30am and surgery at 9:30am. 12 hours to go.!

Ok, so tomorrow I start my all liquid diet. My daughter went into labor tonight. So, my granddaughter will be born tomorrow and I will be having my surgery the day after. Wow, good timing. Today I was thinking of what I couldnt eat tomorrow and became extremley hungry. So after work I ate a chicken wing and a biscuit. I feel for those who had to do a two and three week liquid diet. I couldnt even last with just the thought of not eating food. Anyway, I will be doing milk and unjury chicken protien shake tomorrow. Good luck to all those having surgery tomorrow. YOU MADE IT!

Thanks for reposting this Shauna. I fdorgot this was on here. Today my preop was moved up a day. Every since I hung up from the dcotors office I have not been able to focus. Im so excited that I just cant take it.

I GOT A SURGERY DATE!!!!! JULY 27TH. @ 9:30am!!!! YEAH!!!!

YEAH!!!!! MY SURGERY WAS APPROVED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY YESTERDAY. I WILL CALL THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT IN MY DOCTORS OFFICE TO SCHEDULE MY SURGERY ON MONDAY. HOPEFULLY I WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE THE SURGERY ON JULY 27TH. I MIGHT BE STARTING A NEW JOB AND DONT WANT TO HAVE TO ASK FOR TIME OFF SO SOON.

All fat people are lazy. I cant eat that much right now and I have not had my surgery yet. Sometimes gentics and other health factors play a major role in obesity. The first mistake was assuming that overweight people are lazy. I had a similar situation with a doctor this past week. He told me to get off my but and get active and I would eventually lose weight and get rid of my diabetes. He obviously was a quack because for one I dont have diabetes, not all overweight people have diabetes and for two I excersise everyday and have done so for the past 7 months and only lost 3lbs. Someone should put up a billboard reading, "Dont ass-u-me, do you your research!"

Yeah, I have a pre-op appointment July 22nd. I still don't have ea surgery date but this is promising! I called my insurance company today and was told that the request for surgery uploaded today and I should have an answer by the end of this week. At this rate it looks like I might not be a July bander BUT I still want to stay with you all, if you will have me?

So, I completed my 6th and final nutrition class today/ tonight / July 6. My doctors medical assistant is sending the preauth to my insurance company tomorrow July 7. She made a comment to me that I know cant sleep over. She said well it looks like you are doing OK and all we need to do is get the preauth sent and schedule your surgery for August. WHAT!? Thats not what I was told when I first signed on. Anyway, I will keep you all updated and continue with my low calorie diet. I was a bit depressed when I left the doctors office so I went and ate fried greasy fat food! Guess what I don't feel bad about eating it either! lol

I also started my two-week diet. My doctor called me this morning and told me to start this morning because the turnaround for my insurance company would take less than a week for an approval. Therefore, I started my protein shake for breakfast. I had a chicken soup flavored shake. I am using Unjury. I must admit it was tasty. For lunch, I had Progresso soup chicken and beans and for dinner, I had chicken and a spoon of mash potatoes. I know the mash potatoes were a no but I had to make sure the potatoes didn’t need any salt ( for the kids) hahahaha. I was so hungry when I got home I wanted to eat everything in the house. I have found a way to curb my hunger. I am now eating pickles between meals and for some reason the pickles ease the blow. I know I’m crazy but it works. I will be seeing my doctor tomorrow and hopefully have a surgery date by this time next week. I think a lot of my hunger is related to PMS this week so the pickle thing might be a fluke.

This is good to know. I am writing this down now so that I can ask the doctor tomorrow about what I need to start doing after my visit. I will also look online tonight to find out if I have meet my deductable. I belive I have but I want to make sure all my ducks are lined up tomorrow. I am so excited. Thank you for replying.

Shauna I had not been on in a week or so. Work has kept me really busy. Congrats on getting your surgery date. How long did it take for the insurance company to send the approval back?

Im just curious, how long did it take for your insurance company to send the approval or denial for surgery back to your doctors office? I will be attending my 6th medically supervised diet visit on July 6th. I know I still have a pre-op class to attend so that will also take time. Does everyone have to get blood work, EKG, and additional work done if you had it performed before? I had all that done except for the chest x-ray in February. Im just curious and trying to guesstimate when my surgery will occur because I will have to request time off of work. If anyone wants to share what occured after your last medically supervised visit up until the date of surgery, I would appreciated it.

I purchased a few clothes online in smaller sizes such as dresses, shirts, and skirts. We still have to wear clothes once we start to take off the weight. I also purchased a few pants once size smaller than my regular size ( tight 20) so I have a few 18's. I know that the weigt wont come off right away but I want to look good at the same time.
