  1. That is awesome Kim! Good luck with your diet, I am so worried about it. I have been watching everything I put in my mouth!! I am very excited though. I know this will be my turning point and I cannot wait until it starts!
  2. Hi everyone, My name is Dawn and it has been quite a while since I have posted on here. I finally have gone through the long process of my approval and now I have my date July 25th. It is all coming so fast. I know this is what I want, I am just a little nervous. My surgeon is requiring me to lose ten more pounds and I am so afraid I will not do it! I need some encouragement please. What is it the best way to actually make sure this will happen. I am already cutting my fat grams to what I will need post op, drinking a ton of water, only eating when I am supposed to. I just would love to have a pre op diet that will keep me on track. He didn't actually give me a diet to follow pre-op, just one post op. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  3. I need help with a pre op diet. I only have to lose ten pounds and my surgery date is July 25. I am very excited/nervous but more excited. Any suggestions on how to get this last 10 pounds off would be great!
  4. Thank you all for your support! It is so important to come to a place where people understand where I am coming from. The only thing I think I may be worried about is the longterm effects. There isn't any long term data. I am pretty confident that the sleeve is what I am going with. I just have to get all the other stuff in line and get it scheduled. I know this is what I want. I want to feel better and look better. Way to go on your surgeries and I wish you all luck with losing!
  5. I would like to have it too please! Here is my email dholman0307@comcast.net Thanks for offering! Dawn Back at the beginning of December I received a spiral bound booklet from my doctors office that explains everything I would need to know about getting a Gastric Sleeve/Bypass. From pre-op to post-op and it has helped me sooo much!!! This morning, I happened to have a few minutes to myself and decided to unbound the spiral and scan the whole booklet. If anyone would like to have a copy of it, please let me know. I emailed it from my work to my yahoo account with no problems on the size. Let me know if your interested - Tiffany
  6. My name is Dawn and I weigh 348lbs. I have been overweight as long as I can remember. Four years ago I decided to have gastric bypass surgery, my insurance denied me twice. I gave up and have gained even more weight in the last 4 years. My weight has held me back for a very long time. I took my daughter to an amusement park two summers ago and she felt bad because I couldn't fit into the seats on the rides. I was humiliated and sad for her. She worries about be constantly. My other daughter and son are on the same self destructive path I am on and I am afraid for them. I went in for my surgeon consult today. Before I went to the office I had my mind made up, I was going to have the lap band procedure done as soon as possible. During the time I watched the video and talked with the nurse I started to doubt my decision. I am not sure the lapband is going to be enough to help me. The one thing I know for sure is I want my real body, I want my health, and I want my happiness. The more I read through this forum the more I feel like maybe this surgery is best for me. I see my doctor on Thursday and the nut and psy consult next week. I hope to be able to submit to insurance within two weeks. I am hoping to find some support here and some words of wisdom. Your stories are very encouraging and I look forward to coming back here and continuing my journey!
