    Looking for mentor (NC)

Hi Kelly, Good luck on your new venture. I just had my surgery on Jan. 7th. I am feeling good. Really excited about my new journey. Week one is down. All I could have this week was lots of Water, broth, sugar-free Jello and sugar-free popsicles. I thought it would be hard, but it really wasn't. Now on week two... I have the same options but I've added a Protein drink. I use Medifast because it's so high in protein whcih is my goal for this week. I didn't experience a lot of soreness so I don't know if I just came through it well, or if this is the norm. I am really excited about my future. I hope the next few weeks fly by so that I can experience my first fill. I've lot 7 lbs. in the first week and I think that is good. Let's see how next week goes. If you need a friend to chat with, just contact me. I also am from NC. Good luck, Donna

I love chicken... that will be great when I can have it. I am a super fussy eater which will not make this easy for me. I don't like to puree anything and I don't eat vegetables. I will have to struggle with protein drinks for the next couple of weeks. I've done Medifast protein drinks before and can get them down pretty easy so that is what I am hoping to have. When did you have your surgery? How well have you done?

    One day at a time....

Hello everyone, I had my lap band surgery on January 7, 2011. I've waited so long for this to happen. It has been 3 days since the surgery and I am feeling good. A little sore, but nothing to write home about. It's definitely tolerable. I've been living on chicken broth, s-f popsicles and water. I can't say I am hungry yet. Seems like it's not an issue yet. I am scared but excited. I don't want to make mistakes and learn the hard way. I am trying to read as much as I can and follow the rules. If you have any words of wisdom or comments, please share them with me. I am looking for support and encourage on this journey. Also, if there are things I should be aware of or avoid, please share that with me also. Looking to meet new friends who can share my concerns. Good luck everyone!!! Baby Steps

Well Tommorrow is the BIG day.

Good luck to you and your husband.... I just had my surgery last Friday. Today is day 4 and everything seems fine. I am not hungry at all...but I think the water is keeping me full. I've had some chicken broth and some sugar-free jello. They both tasted wonderful. I only have 3 more days to go on this stuff and then I can move to full liquids. I can do this!!! Good luck to you both...
