Hi! I was an uncontrolled diabetic for 15 plus years. I had a heart attack and had my lapband surgery 2 months later. I weighed 368 pounds. I am very happy to report 3 days post op I was off all heart related medication and 5 days post op I was off all Diabetic medications. I was on a total of 23 different medications for both diabetes and heart. I was told I will always have diabetes, it is just controlled with diet now.
