  1. Hi all... saw Dieticain and that was straight forward. Then went and saw Physician ( Dr Tran) and he is sending me for an ECG and respiratory function tests. All that will happen on the 28/2. If he finds something in the Respiratory test i may then need sleep studies............. ho hum!!! I hope they dont postpone my op....... Im really worried cause i am a past smoker and i know my lungs arnt good. I get short of breath easy.................:help:

  3. Bet your getting excited.... the 19th isnt far away. Then it appears its going to be my turn. My mum was suppose to be away when im scheduled for my op but has changed her plans which is a good thing as i think im going to .... need my mum!!!:cry 36yo sooky lala i can be
  4. The stockings help to prevent blood clots post op. They are a great idea and we use them on the majority of people in the surgery ward i work on. Blood clots are unfortunately a risk with any op so best thing to prevent is 1/ stockings and 2/ to walk.

  6. OMG Karenb.... that makes 3 of us with MS. Myself and susannah have it too. My neurologist thinks this is a great decision. I was diagnosed with MS in 1997. I have betaferon injections every second night. Ive been extremely fortunate with the MS.

  8. mmmmmmmmmm.. why did you have a liver ultrasound?? Im off to see the physician tomorrow... what can i expect?? what tests may he do. I'll scream if he sends me for sleep studies. Both Dr nottle and my GP dont think he will. Dr Nottle usually doesnt do a barium swollow post op so im happy about that. Also.... i read somewhere that i may wake up with a 'Naso- gastric tube', true or not true??

  11. Thanks fee. People continue to try and talk me out of the op but this is my life and ive chosen my journey.
  12. Morning all........ Yes im seeing the dietician at Dr Nottles in the afternoon and the Physician in spotswood in the morning. Busy and expensive day for me. Was reading through all the paperwork that Dr Nottle gave me last night. I then paused and looked at the consent form....... it all signed by Dr Nottle and myself so i guess that means..... im getting banded :clap2: . It hasnt sunk in yet!!!
  13. He didnt mention it....and the receptionist says that he doesnt usually put people on it unless they weigh a certain amount or have a certain BMI. I will go on optifast for the week prior to prepare myself for liquids
  14. Forgot to mention.... i dont have to go on optifast. Thought i might do the first week prior just to start preparing myself for the liquid phase.

  18. yes smarty bum you were correct. Im 166cm and Dr Nottle said 68kg.
  19. 12/2/07... saw Dr Nottle today. Was a long wait but well worth it as i got an operation date: 9th march 2007. he was so nice and im so happy ive chosen this path. Im off to see Physician ( Dr Tran) and Dietician on wednesday 14/2

  21. Susannah.... did you see a dietician pre-op. I believe Dr Nottles makes his patients see one pre-op but not sure after that............
  22. i am absolutely over the moon. I still have a couple of hurdles to jump ie seeing physician and dietician in 2 days but all should be plain sailing. -------------------------------------------------------------- To be banded: 9th March 2007 Starting weight: 103kg Goal weight as per Dr Nottle: 68kg :omg:

Im excited but believe me im nervous. dr Nottle wants to see me 2 days prior to operation just to go over physicians notes and to have a general chat. he doesnt believe that Dr Tran will send me for sleep studies when i see him this wednesday. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Being Banded 9th March 2007
  24. Im so exited. dr nottle was so nice. I see the physician and dietician this wednesday and then Dr Nottle on 7/3 and then its the op on 9/3.
