I am in such a good place in my life right now, i have a wonderful family and great co workers and friends. I am able to have full liquids now, like watered down grits and oatmeal, pudding, sorbet, and I am thankful. I am 37 lbs down from my highest weight and I feel good. I make sure i walk at least 30 mins a day. If i feel this good now, i cant wait to see what another 80 lbs will feel like. watch out world!
  3. i know its hard but you can do this. I was on a 2 week pre op liquid only diet, then 2 more weeks of clear liquids only after surgery. you will learn to appreicate food again but in a much better way. Listen to your nut and listen to your body. Wishing you the best of luck, YOU CAN DO THIS

i am 2 weeks post op and just saw my surgeon yesterday, i asked about the port and he said that spot will be tender for a while, sometimes i forget its there and sometimes i have to breathe thru the pain, it takes time to heal give yourself time and listen to your body
  5. stay positive! everyone is different, i too started reading things on the internet and had second thoughts. you can do this you will do this and you will be fine. follow your doctors orders just like he says. keep us posted

wow you are doing great on the walking, i figured 30 mins a day was good, but 2 hours, holy crap! I just got back from my MD lost 16 lbs since surgery, but my diet is VERY strict, clear liquids only for the first 2 weeks, i can now have a "full" liquid diet for 2 weeks starting today! MMM had a protein shake, it was wonderful! Thought i was going to puke if i had to drink anymore broth or eat another cup of jello. My port site is still sore on occasion, so if it hurts I stop. I would like to stay in touch with you so I hope you respond. I will make you my friend if you dont mind. And just to get it out of the way I am NOT on here "looking" for anything if you know what I mean.
  8. I did not, but i do highly recommend therapy. Been there done that for other reasons and it HELPS, just to talk to someone and get it off your chest may bring to light why you do what you do. They can give you another tool to help you in your journey. Please look into it. Best of luck.

Thanks for all the encourging support, i have NOT cheated one time since my pre op diet, i see the surgeon 1/13, and then will graduate to a full liquid diet.
  11. Well, not such a beautiful day in FLA overcast and rainy, but always sunny on my head! lol Went for a walk after work with both my girls, this time just a mile. I am so tired, I NEED FOOD! Can finally eay a full liquid diet Friday!! See the surgeon Thursday for my first post op, cant wait to see how much i have lost. Have a wonderful evening everyone!
  12. I have UHC and they were very quick at getting my approval, but your surgeons office and you PCP have to be on top of things. Dont stand by and wait make sure you stay on them. Good luck!

First of all congratulations. I was banded 12/30. I can tell you there are more good days than bad. I was on a 2 week pre op diet and had 2 bad days, i am 10 days post op and have had a couple "bad" days where i thought i just had to eat. Keep busy, i dont think you have the problem, keep your mouth busy if you are allowed to chew gum or hard candy etc. Follow the doctors orders. I havent cheated one time and the weight loss will show that. I did catch myself yesterday when i was cooking i stuck my finger in it to see if it was warm and then licked it off, i caught myself and spit it out, it was only a grain of rice but its not on the diet! lol You CAN do this, you HAVE to do this, and you WILL do this. I wis you the best of luck and keep us informed.

Its day # 9 post op, had a rough day yesterday but much better today. Got up early this morning and took my first walk. Did a 1.5 miles in 40 mins, I think thats pretty good for me! Still have 5 more days on the post op liquid diet, then go see my surgeon and move up to a full liquid diet! Woohoo! I can have pudding, and sorbet, sugar free of course, and my Opti fast shakes, ugh cant wait! Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Thank you to my family, friends, and co workers for such great support!
  16. you can do it. They warned me about the bad mood, mine happen to hit on Christmas day, it was day 9 of my pre op diet and i found myself snapping at my family, there will be a few rough days before and after, but it is WORTH it. I had a bad day yesterday (8 day post op) but it passed. Keep following the diet and you will be ok. We are learing a new lifestyle.

I am 1 week post op and 3 weeks on a liquid diet, at first it was easy, but now I think I am hungry. My head says eat but I am scared to. I have followed doctors orders all along and i dont want to mess anything up. Please let me get thru one more week, and then I can have pudding, cream soups, and watered down oatmeal....mmmm
  19. you can do it, stay positive. I was on a 2 week liquid diet pre op, dont think i didnt want to cheat, it was during Christmas time, it was hard but worth it! I did have a few days for not being so nice but those passed. You will be better off when you go into have your surgery. dont focus on the pounds and keep busy the time will be here before you know it
  20. You can do it! I was on a 2 week liquid diet pre op didnt cheat once, if you want this bad enough you CAN do it!!!!

your surgery date will be here before you know it. I was the same way, i was counting it down and then before i knew it the day was here, now i am like wow, did i really just have that done?
  22. biggest piece of advice is to follow your doctors instructions. I was on a 2 week liquid diet pre op, banded 12/30 now i am on a more strict liquid diet for 2 weeks, then a little thicker liquids 2 weeks and in Feb i can have food!!! Your gonna have to get up and move find 30 mins a day a few days a week, i wish you the best of luck. I am tired, the gas hurts the worst, but at this point ZERO regrets.

congratulations ladies! I am 3 days post op and dont regret a thing. I also had the 2 week per op liquid diet, everyone is like how are you going to do that during Christmas, my response is I have wanted this for 2 years and if the MD says to jump up and down and turn in circles I would. My only piece of advice is Follow Your MDs orders!! I am not going to lie, it is uncomfortable @ the port site, but nothing u can't handle. Good luck! Hope to see you on here more.
  24. Hey Rueban! We both had surgery on the same day! I can only have clear liquids for 2 more weeks, the gas is the worst and the port site is what hurts.Coughing is getting easier, i did sneeze today, that was very interesting hurt like a _______. You have nothing but an open road ahead of you, follow your MDs orders and you will make it. I will try to keep up with your progress. Best of luck fellow Lapbander! YOU CAN DO IT!!
  25. I am so excited for you!! The gas I think is the kicker. Its so funny to see all the different diets people are on. My next 2 weeks are liquids only, then 2 weeks of thick liquids like Protein shakes and mushy stuff, then solids woohoo! I was told I can eat meat, cheese, and dark leafy greens only. Can't wait to eat so sliced deli turkey and cheese that will be my first meal...mmmmm.
