  1. Tarajill- Did you have any complications? I have heard terrible things about Dr. Ray. At the time of my surgery, I lived in Bloomington and chose to drive to Noblesville because of the bad reviews I heard.
  2. Dizzy-Dr. McEwen in Noblesville is AMAZING! His self-pay fills will run you $150. I've been banded for two years and have had zero issues because of him!
  3. I had surgery a year ago. Insurance covered it. However, I recently took a job with a new company that does NOT provide insurance. I am having to get my own policy but I am having trouble finding a company that will cover me because I had surgery. Does anyone know of any insurance that will cover me? They don't have to cover fills but, I NEED INSURANCE! Thanks!
  4. I like the strawberry Bariatric Advantage. I mix fresh fruit in with it...makes it taste so much better!
  5. I was banded yesterday!! I checked in at 7:30 AM and surgery was at 9 AM. A little sore but no real pain or discomfort. The anesthesia made me a little woosey but, they gave me meds for that! It's 5 in the morning now, and I am getting ready to be discharged! Good luck everyone! It was easy as pie!
  6. I bought a NINJA! It's amazing!
  7. My surgeon put me on a brand called Bariatric Advantage. By themselves, they are just "OK." However, if you add ice and fruit, they taste just like a milkshake from STEAK AND shake.... http://www.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog
  8. Surgery scheduled for 9 AM on March 10, 2011!! Pre-Op starts on February 24, 2011. I will be on Bariatric Advantage for my diet.
  9. Who is your insurance provider?
  10. I have Fed BCBS. I went for my Psych Eval and consult with the exercise group on Jan. 5, 2011. I met with the dietitian and surgeon on Jan.12, 2011. All of my paperwork was submitted on Jan. 13, 2011. I received a phone call today, Jan 27, 2011 that I had been approved. I only have to do a monitored diet for two weeks before surgery and they said they could get me in as soon as three weeks.

I meet with the psychiatrist, nutritionist, and the dietitian on Wednesday. My appointment with the surgeon was pushed back a week because of scheduling conflicts. I can't wait until Wednesday! I feel like this has been dragging on for an eternity. I feel really anxious tonight because so much is happening at once. School starts in a week, new group of students at work this month, and starting the LapBand process. Money is really worrying me. I feel like I have enough money to do one thing but not everything. No matter what, LapBand wins out this month. I'm fortunate enough to have the insurance I do for one year so, I can't waste time!!! I wish I could just figure out how much my co-pays will be this week.
  12. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE mine! It was really uncomfortable being placed but, I haven't had a kid so my girlie parts weren't stretched out. My periods stopped entirely but, I still do get a little cramping. I say GO FOR IT! Your insurance should cover it too!
