  1. Hi Wondering... I have my initial consultation on 1/13/11 and I understand how you feel. I hope that we will be able to keep in touch throughout our journey. I have only told my immediate family as I too worry about what people will say. My close friend has voiced an opinion several times that it's too extreme and badly affects you for the rest of your life. I agree with bubbles772 and say that she is simply not informed. No one knows unless they have been in our shoes what failure feels like. I told my primary physician today that the only thing holding me back was the guilt that I failed at being able to loose the weight "the right way". His answer says it all -" in this world we will fail without Christ in anything we do................and to not let guilt overcloud this desicion - this is a decision to get healthy." I agree with him, so I scheduled the appointment and go for the seminar on the 13th. Would love to hear how your visit goes!! God bless, Quilter at Heart
  2. Blessings to you for a speedy recovery. I was told ny my dr the other day that this procedure might be the quickest solution to medical problems that are occurring because of my weight. I'm a month shy of 50 and weigh 291 pounds. Your post is very encouraging - maybe there is hope for me! God bless Jaleena in NC
  3. Very excited for you - I'm hoping to get an appointment date with the doctor next week. What did your liquid diet consist of? Was it just regular food blended or protein powders and such? I wish you a speedy recovery! Jaleena from NC
  4. Thank you for the welcome - how is the liquid diet going? What kind of liquids are you drinking? I'm so curious!
  5. I am interested in speaking with someone concerning the lapband procedure. I live about an hour away from Greenville but definitely have faith in the physicians in Greenville. My husband suffered a massive heart attack 2 years ago and through the Lord and the surgeons at Pitt Memorial - he survived. The quality of care outweighs what we can receive in Jacksonville. Do you have a website or may I get the information to contact your office? Thank you for your time, God bless, Jaleena
  6. Hello, My name is Jaleena and I live along the coast of NC. Like most of the postings I've read, I am trying to make a decision regarding lapband surgery. At almost 50, my options for weight loss seems to be running out and my doctor has suggested this route. I've stumbled across this forum by googling - hoping that this might answer some of the questions I have. I've had a weight problem for all of my adult life - both of my parents were obese and I know that I use food as a stress reliever. I have 2 grown children and just recently became a grandmother! As a Christian, I struggle with viewing my weight issues as faith issues and see it as another failure in my life. So, talk is good and I have never been afraid to talk and I do plan on listening - or reading - any ideas of where to start? Had my first visit to the cardiologist for EKG and an appointment for a stress test on the 30th of this month - what a way to head into 2011. I covet your prayers. God bless, Jaleena
