Thx to you all, but I wasn't rebanded I was inquiring and wanted to know if it had ever helped anyone that had issues. I was partially unfilled because of severe acid reflux at night, not losing weight, and having to stop eating 5 hours before bedtime and sometimes that still didn't help. I was simply too tight and the swallow proved that although my Dr. was still asking if I wanted a fill, but that was before he got the results of the swallow. I had a huge apatite and could eat whatever even being too tight. As someone here said, I would probably be totally unfilled and be placed on liquids and thats exactly what my Dr.'s office said to me today. I have an appt. this week for total unfill. Thanks, I my band is no more use to me per my Dr. He is wanting me to have the sleeve but I really dont want to be cut on but I think you're right, If it didn't work the first time.......

Hey, good luck and let me know how it went. I'm seeing my Dr. tomorrow and still feel the same as you. My Dr. want to wait 6 months before sleeve, but my appetite has gotten so big now that I've had .5cc taken out. I can't imagine going 6 months without anything.

I had a severe case of it also until most of the fluid was taken out of the band. I thought that I could sneak a little back in after a few weeks but I was wrong. The fills are so sensitive when filling and taking out that the least 1/2 cc either way (with me ) makes a big difference.

I had all the same symptoms as you. Acid reflux was awful at night. I had to stop eating at least 5 hours before bedtime and even that didn't always help. I slept on 3 pillows and coughed. My weight still remained the same,not losing. I was told that my band is no longer working and that it need to come out. I was in denial and was unfilled again. That felt so good to have the relief so after 3 months, I asked to have a small fill again. As you said, what a mistake. I went right back into his office the very next morning before going to work. There was no way that I wanted to go through that again. Just that one night of hell reminded me of what I went through. I am no longer in denial. It just didn't work out for me but it could for you. Everyone's different as they say.

Glad you're feeling better. Did you have any tests done before moving and getting a new surgeon? My surgeon wasn't too quick to send me in for tests. But here lately I have had an upper GI once it was said that I was just too tight. And the other said that I have a dilated pouch and esophagus.

I'm sure the two of you will reconcile. A lot of this kind of talk comes out of jealousy. I had only lost around 45 of the 75 lbs that I needed to lose when one of my co-workers said to me " you don't need to lose anymore on the backside". This was a friend of mine and the words were hurtful. I smiled and shrugged it off. We continue to work together just as before, but I will never forget how she made me feel. Although she was right...LOL. But our friendship wasn't on that type of a relationship. She was taking jabs at me

I'VE BEEN STRUGGLING FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS OUT OF THREE. I'M SURE SOME OF YOU HAVE TOO BEFORE BECOMING SUCCESSFUL. HAS ANYONE STARTED OVER FROM AN UNFILL? IF SO, LET ME KNOW PLEASE! I WANT TO KEEP MY BAND FOR AS LONG AS I CAN BUT STILL NEED TO LOSE 35 MORE LBS. IT'S HARD, BUT I'VE JOINED THE GYM AND PLAN TO GET SERIOUS ABOUT IT NEXT WEEK. I'M GETTING TOTALLY UN-FILLED ON WEDNESDAY. LET ME KNOW IF I SHOULD DO LIQUIDS FOR A WHILE OR JUST HOW TO GET CONTROL AGAIN. I KNOW IT'S UP TO ME AND I'M STARTING IT OFF BY PORTION CONTROL.

Hello, I'm sure most of you have heard my story and my woes. As it stands now, My Dr. has told me during my last two visits that the band is no longer working for me. I have lost 50lbs with this band and really hate to lose it. He is pushing for an unfill as to give my esophagus a rest and then either be re-banded or have another wls . Anyone been in this predicament before? If so, What was your decision and the outcome. I need to give him my decision soon. Thanks!

I can relate Jessiemcs, I'm not too sure that we didn't have the same Dr. My Dr. left also w/o notification to me. Now I'm in the same situation. I need the band out and the original Dr. has gone and now I have to get another one. To me, this can be a little scary.

Yes, you are still too tight. I went through the same exact thing before having 5cc's taken out. I coughed, had to be propped up, and said AHEM from the throat most of the night I would hate losing my band but I have been told by others that I should let it go and have another procedure done.

Oh man, that looks awful. Glad you didn't feel that. My Dr. has never said that I have a slipped band ,but it took this new Dr. a little longer to put 2cc back in. I have always believed that I have a flipped port. I'm feeling better now than I did on my last post, but I still don't know my outcome

There are several ppl including myself that have soreness in that same area. Could it be a coincidence that we have this pain, or could it have already been known that we would experience this feeling as a part of having the band. The reason I say that is, when I told my Dr about what I was feeling when I la y on that side, he said Oh Yea, You Will Feel The Port. He then said You know that you'll have to deal with something as a result of surgery. You can't have your cake and eat it to. I felt like crying. Nobody ever told me that I would have to forever live in pain.

I've been asking everyone including my Dr. the same. I have that pain all the time. I'm going in tomorrow and ask again. I'm scared too! If you find out, PLEASE let me know and I will do the same.

what did you revise to? Hows that working thus far.

Well, first you have to find a bariatric Dr. near you and then attend one of their seminars. You can set it up from there.

Well folks, I suppose everyone is in the same shoes I'm in. Nobody will post here anymore. There is no reason to feel ashamed. The band just didn't work out. It started out helping with the weight loss very well. I lost 50lbs before the complications and hunger to its toll. Like many others here, I'm looking into the sleeve. Anyone else thinking about being sleeved or has already been sleeved? If so message me if you don't want to post here. Take Care!

thanks, I loved my band and hate the idea of losing it. I'm sure my portion sizes didn't help at all, but when the Dr. asked me how much could I still eat, I always told him the truth (a lot). I just made myself stop eating but I was still hungry. No matter how many fills he was giving.

Im feeling depressed as well. I dont want to have another surgery either. I keep hearing from the clinic to make better food choices and to cut down on portion size. I thought the band was the tool I needed to help me with that problem. That was one of the reasons I chose to be banded. I've always stayed hungry and still do. I never had the restriction like It was advertised to give you. when I see the Dr. again, I will see about doing liquids longer to get my pouch small enough again to work. I also have to start working out more at the gym untill I sweat, B/C I'm not one that sweat either LOL.

I was told that I have a dilated pouch and was unfilled, but was told to do only 2 days of liquids. I still have pain on the left side of my stomach. worse at times. I'm so fed up but dont want to lose my band either. no weight loss in 2 yrs. It's as if I've developed two stomachs. one above the other.

for gas pains, walk, walk, walk as much as you can do and don't forget about the gas-x that's what helped me.

2012, U sound as if u have the same problem that I sometimes have. Approximately every other month I get that pain. It can last from 1-3 weeks. Dr.says pulled muscle, but every time? and I can never remember doing it. second Dr. dosen't even know why. I also have been too tight and have a huge dilated upper stomach now. Anyone else have this?

People, I thought we were here to support one another. We are all human and have made mistakes. but to blame one another for a slipped band is like closing the gate after the horse has already escaped. It may be our fault for a failed band, but we need to be a little more understanding. I know I need all the support I can get. I feel badly about not losing all the weight that I could have lost and already feel like a failure due to my own errors and I'm sure others like me may feel the same way :)Much Luv
