    February 2007 bandsters!

Same here. No restriction, but I am only letting myself eat at about 60-70% of the quantity I was before. I can eat bread, in fact, I haven't had trouble with anything yet. I even had a sushi roll the other night.. ONE sushi roll, normally I could have put away 2 or 3 but I only ordered one and was fine when I was done. Today for lunch I had Apricot chicken and mashed potatoes. It comes with two chicken breast, so when she brought it out I went ahead and asked for a to go box and boxed up half the potatoes and one chicken breast then ate the rest and I am pleasently full andssssssleeeeepy. now, I COULD HAVE eaten more that one roll and I could have finished all the chicken and potatoes, but knowing that I could I tried to take preventative measures and so far it's worked. hang in there.... trust me, it will be different 1-3 fills down the road I think. T p.s. by the way.. my nick name is Gretchen... I wish it was my real name.. I lOVE it.

    New to the board

Hey Laura! Glad you found this site! I find this forum to be priceless. One of my things that I wonder about (since we both go to the same chiroprator) is how long I will have to wait for a REAL adjustment. Diaz does mine on the drop table with me laying on my belly and I just don't see that happening with my port site any time soon:confused: Tracy

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

They are referred to Sheep and the pastor the Shepherd for a reason....
  4. My Doc has done over 1,000 procedures and has not once ever had to do an open cut one, however, he does say in your pre-op talk that the possibility for an open cut is there. I do have 7 incisions which, from what I can tell here, is one or two more than the average, I didn't have any bruising what-so-ever though and the only large incisions are the ones for my port and below my belly button. I am three weeks post op today and they look great. T

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

"Finally on my drive I saw a big church along the highway that hand a big pond in front and in the pond there was a huge statue of Jesus's upper torso with his eyes and hands raised towards the heavens. My wife asked me what it represented and I looked at it then said to my wife, I think he is asking "Who pushed me in this Goddam puddle" Buwhahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :pound:
  6. I just placed an order with them for a pair of tights and some knee socks. I can't WAIT for them to come in!!!! T

I'm not a Christian, however I love the Be Attitudes.. Blessed are the meek, so n so. Jesus had a lot of good lessons to teach, whether he is/was the son of God or not, we could all do well to follow his example. :hippie: Tracy
  10. I don't know what it is out Sundays but I am having another fabulous day. I am moving around BETTER than I was pre op. I topped out at 339 in January and am at 319 and holding. I don't expect to lose anymore until after my 1st fill. It's another GORGEOUS day out, got the sage burning, all the windows open and I am.. get this.. CLEANING! I'm also going to do a batch of tie dye this afternoon... feeling creative. It'll will take me about 3-4 days to finish this batch but it's nice to be in the biz again. Doing some shirts and undies for my in-laws that are going to Disney for their spring break. I made a big ole pitcher of Green Tea and I've got my ABBA gold album blasting. It's so nice to feel good and optimistic about my future. YAY! I still have the weird numb/pain on the surface of my tummy but it's tolerable. Todd(DH) is having outpatient surgery for his deviated septum one month to the day of my surgery and I know that by then I'll really be feeling great. I think I may even dye some eggs on Tuesday (Ostara holiday for me) I did this last year using all natural dye stuff. I boiled all kinds of stuff experimenting like spinich, coffee, tea, blackberries, strawberries and then I used cheese cloth and wrapped different plant leaves like carrot tops, rosemary and lavendar and they came out REALLY neat. I think my favs were the blackberry and tea ones. I have found that post op my meat preference to be fish. Well, I'm just rambling now. Later Tracy

    Weirdness.. input PLEASE

:help: Ok. I am two weeks and four days post op. do you remember that weird feeling post op on the surface of your belly skin that was numb and sensative all at one? Well that dissapeard about a week ago only to return IN FORCE today. I have 7 small incisions that have healed VERY well. I have one at the bottom of my belly button then two more to the far left of my belly button side by side then one more up and angled to the left of my belly button, then more.. OK. If you were to draw a slanted to the left triangle with the narrow point starting at my belly button and the other two wide points to the left, the entire area in between is intense sore and numb and on occasion a twinge of #4 pain. it's no where near the port or my tummy. Now, I did stumble yesterday walking in to my buliding but didn't toally wipe out, however it jarred me pretty good. I noticed this sensation mainly today and more intensely the past two hours. Any one else experiences these phantom pains that are not directly under their incisions? I called the doc's office and they think I'm ok and want me to call back on Monday.
  14. Kewl, Thanks, I will! Kyethra, gosh girl, I hope all turns out well. sheesh. Keep us updated. TRacy

    Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

You know what's going through my mind? The thought that I'm going through all this and My hubby will still be grossed out when I don't have clothes on after I lose the weight. So, are we to look bad no matter what because of the food abuse we wrought upon our body? Of course he says.. don't be silly but he's just being nice. Whatever. What are your stats? I'm 5'6" 37 yrs old and my top weight was 341ish. T

#$%^ I'm feelin' your pain sister. I'm kind of ashamed to say that for that reason alone I almost decided to NOT get banded. I'm a little.. ok more tha a little.. worried about the loose skin thing. hang in there and give your skin time to shrink back some. That sucks and I hate that you are discouraged but you know.. I'll probably be screaming the same thing in about 6-9 months myself. sigh
  17. NONONO!! NOT scary. I LOVE mine... what's scary is a dirty a$$!!
  18. I paid around 45 for mine. It's angled. eBay has a picture. I'll include a link and you can see the picture when you click on it. There is a clamp and it's angled. Ok, this one is different from the one i bought but it's good to know there are choices. http://www.supersizeworld.com/25-600.htm
  19. Yes ladies.. YES THERE IS> in fact.. if you cruise through this entire thread and find the page where I started to post, a kind soul told me that in fact there IS a tool just for that. I ordered mine off of eBay and it was worth EVERY FREAKIN PENNY> Go to eBay and type in a combo of these words.. Self Wipe Bathroom Toilet Aid Wiper HOLY CRAP THAT's BIG.. SORRY.. copied it off of the site. Well, it's an attention getter at that. Also, If and When you do get one, invest in some Huggies Wet wipes and use that in place of toilet paper. Makes a HUGE difference. T
