  1. Hi Everyone! It has been some time since I have been on here. I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for so many things this year, but mostly for my LapBand :) The weight loss has slowed significantly! I am just trucking along, and hope to be down another 5lbs by my one year Surgiversary date of December 6th, 2011. I am about 26lbs from my goal of a normal BMI.

  2. Just checking in!!! It's been awhile... Things are moving a lot slower now that I am getting closer to my goal. I still have about 31 lbs to go. I just had my 7th fill yesterday, I am at 6.30cc total now in my Allergan 10cc band. I'm sticking to the clears for another day, then I will try thicker fluids or mushies. I am hoping this fill will help the scale start moving so I can get into the 150's!! I am so sick of the 160's. I have had horrendous gas with this fill. I really don't understand why because I have not eaten anything solid in over 24 hours! Sounds like some of us December Bandsters are doing very well, and some of us are dealing with a lot of stuff! Have a great rest of your week everyone!!

  3. OH NO!!! Just take care of yourself and I hope it slips back into place! Let us know how it goes! sad.gifsad.gifsad.gif

My band has slipped! I am so bummed! I went for a routine appt. today and the fluoroscopy showed it has slipped. I was deflated and instructed to stay on liquids as best I can until my appt. 3 weeks from now. The hope is that the band will slip back into place. I vomited a couple times this last week and have been struggling with fall allergies which make me produce more mucous and cough a lot. I am taking 3 different allergy meds daily.

  4. My motto is one day at a time, and slow n steady wins the race! Congrats on getting into a size 14! Sometimes the scale doesn't show us what we want, but pictures and clothing do!

Hello, Everyone. My six month anniversary is Wednesday. That's my official weigh-day, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm on the slow train like a few others here. I usually don't post that often because my stats pale in comparison to everyone else. Yes, I've lost more banded than I would have normally, but it's still a LOT less than I anticipated. But I said I wasn't going to complain this time. Instead, I'll share my good news. I can fit a size 14 pants!!! I gave away all of my 18's and I'm piling up the 16's. I've been shopping at the thrift stores and finding all kind of good stuff.

Although my clothes were fitting differently and I had lost 25 pounds on the scale, I still wasn't too convinced. Then one of my friends (she was banded Jan 20) came and we took pic's of each other. OMG, I really have lost weight. I look pretty good :-)

Lastly, my friend had to get an unfill for a couple of days. We went out to eat and she ate until she was stuffed. She was so miserable and said she did not miss that at all. Just watching her was enough for me. We talked about the difference between being full and being restricted. I'm learning to stop at restriction and not waiting to feel full. It may sound really simple to some people, but it was an "aha moment" for the two of us. It's made a difference since my fill a week and half ago. I know that eventually the pounds will fall off. They better, I've been working out three days a week since March!

  5. Hi My December Bandsters !! It has been awhile since I have been on here. It sounds like everyone is doing great! Congratualtions to all of you "losers" You all are an inspiration. I have been doing well. I have had 5 fills so far, and I am at 6cc in my 10cc band. I finally feel like I have some restriction. I have had about 4 stuck episodes in the 6 months since surgery that were not much fun! All 4 episodes were due to me eating something too fast, or the food was too dry. Other than these episodes, I have not had any problems. I did have a strange burning feeling deep inside my belly near my port side last week. It happened twice, and it seemed to be positional. My fear is that I have flipped my port. It is a little tender at times, and I definitely feel it more. I am not quite sure if this is due to me losing some of my belly fat, or if I should get it checked out. I am going to give it a week, and if I still feel discomfort, I will get to my doc. I am down 55lbs as of yesterday which was my 6 month Surgiversary date, and I could not be any happier!! I finally broke through a month long plateau and made it into the 170's! I <3 "Bertha" my band!! Have a great week everyone!

  6. Hi everyone! It has been quite awhile since I have been on here to read and post. I was banded on 12/06/10 and so far I am down 43 lbs. I have been at a plateau for the past 3 weeks. I have increased my exercise, and have been trying to up my Protein with less calories. I hope this kicks my weight loss back in gear. I have had 3 fills so far: 2.5cc, 1.5cc, and 1.25cc for a total of 5.25cc in my 10cc band. I have a 4th fill scheduled for next week to see if I can jumpstart my weight loss. Things have been pretty good so far. No stuck episodes, no PBing, no slime. The only problem I can report is Hair loss. I am taking my Vitamins regularly, and I take Biotin, Iron, zinc, selenium, and I just added a new product called BioSil. It is supposed to help with hair loss. Has anyone else had an issue with thinning hair? It is great to see all the December 2010 bandsters doing so well keep up the great work everyone!! :)

  7. HI ALL! So, Today is day 5 post op and I have the worst chest and abdomen pressure and gas. I went for a short walk around the park yesterday, and a longer one today. I weaned myself off of the liquid vicodin yesterday. I realized it was giving my runny diarrhea. I still feel very bloated and gassy. It scared me today because it seems to get worse when I go walk. It feels like a crushing stabbing pain in my left shoulder, so bad It brought me to tears. It gets better if I lie down and let the gas dissipate. I hope it gets better because it almost made my husband rush me to the ER. I know it's not a heart attack, but it still is scary. My incisions are healing well, and I have no pain with them. My only pain has been the gas and shoulder pain. I was 218.7 this am which is a 3 lb loss since surgery. I am taking gas x strips to help with my gas and trying to sip slower. It's great to hear that I am not alone :) Good luck everyone!

  8. Hi All! I was banded on Monday Dec. 6th. I am 5'1" My highest weight was 239. I started the 6 months of diet and exercise in April, and my weight was 220. My weight right before surgery was 221.7. I am currently up 6 lbs from the fluids and swelling. I am having very little pain at my incisions, but my shoulders and legs are killing me! I feel like I did 100 squats! I also have been trying to follow the rules my doc gave me which is clear fluids and Protein Shakes for 2 weeks. I am only supposed to sip 5 ounces of these fluids over 30 minutes. I am finding it hard to get all this Fluid in, so I am sipping as much as I can. I have experienced some pressure and tightness right below my sternum. I just assume this is "Bertha the Band" letting me know she is there :) I decided to give my band a nickname. I'm glad that I see alot of you out there who made this choice to ward off Diabetes. This has been my main reason for turning to the LapBand.
