  1. The first 2-3 days are not much fun but I did not think they were horrible. The last 4 days have been good and only a few cravings for me. I was running to the bathroom the first 3 days then things leveled out but today I'm headed toward plug land and started a stool softener. Don't be afraid. Keep yourself busy and pay attention to your body. My biggest help has been fruit infused water. I put fresh fruit and ice and water in a shaker bottle. It tastes good and is refreshing and it helped with cravings:)
  2. I've read on other forums that some people go through the stages of loss and grief after being sleeved. It said the 5 stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. I am worried that I may have to go through these stages after my surgery.

    Bowel Confusion

Do protein shakes usually cause constipation?
  4. When I started my pre op 7 days ago, I was running to the bathroom but now it's almost like complete opposite. I'm on protein shakes and clear liquids. I'm trying to figure out if I need to start my colace ASAP. Pain meds cause severe constipation and I don't need that kind of BS after surgery. Any ideas?
  5. Laura-ven congrats on your sleeve anniversary! I have not run into many who will be sleeved the same day
  6. Thank you! I know I won't do it but I have to make the choice and remember that I'm a "good times" eater. My emotional eating only happens when happy things or events are going on. I guess I must be a very happy person since my weight is what it is
  7. Today is my 42nd birthday and I want chips and guacamole and fajitas from my favorite Mexican restaraunt. Help!!!! I'm on the 7th day of my pre op clear liquids and protein shakes. Nov 13 surgery
  8. I have had a hysterectomy, gall bladder removed, lap band installed and taken out. All in the past 4 years. I have 20 different scars on my tummy area from incisions, two of which are in my belly button. The longest one is 3 inches and just to the left and above my belly button. I'm getting sleeved on November 13 and my dr was the one that suggested it. So it can be done and I'm sure your surgeon will be extra careful.

    All consuming

I think about my new life and weight loss. I think about how much energy I will have and about my health being better, but most of all I think about is what my children (17 and 19) will think of me. They have never seen me less than 200 lbs.

    Got My Date...but...

This is one of my biggest fears. If this happens to me, you better believe I'm going to have at least one taco from Taco Bell, just to spite the dr.

    January 2014!

The lap band most definitely did NOT work for me. I lost 20 lbs over 2 years and it was because my food got caught in my esophagus because the band was incorrectly placed.
  12. I find I'm craving things like salmon and really protein rich food. Just something that has texture, crunch or even salty rice cakes. I don't crave anything I used to like Mexican food and Chinese. And best of all, I'm not craving diet coke at all.
  13. I want popcorn NOW!!!! I want extra butter and I want it to be from the movie theater!!! The only thing I've really wanted to cheat with, but I haven't .... Yet....I'm on day 5 of my pre-op and I am doing well but that darn popcorn
