hi there,I was just reading your blog...have you ever thought to ask the Doctor to referr you to another doctor or another hospital,that is crazy to have you waiting for a whole year,the surgeon can reffer you to another surgeon to do the surgery......they would have to give me some hope with something..call your insurance company your self and ask them If you were to find another hospital to have your surgery at, or can they have your info transfer to a new doctor....or you can call another bariatric doctor and ask them if they can transfer your things to their clinic or hospital..tell them all you have to do is your liquid diet for your pre-op ......I wouldnt sit and wait...thats crazy...camille01

Hi Sarah,how much longer do you have before you have your baby? if you've been checking this out for a while you can still ask your physican and see exactly how much longer you do have to wait,I'm not banded yet but hoping to get it really soon ,I've been thinking about this lapband for about 2 or 3 yrs but never took it any futher but nows the time,I dont eat much any way ,me system stopped burning fat a long time ago ao I feel I need to do something about it now,I feel that maybe your doctor will give the ok sooner than you think,it all depends on if you are breast feeding ,don;t give up just ask questions,It wont hurt anything to ask,,,I have a Dr's appt comming up on the 11th of Janurary,and things I hope will move along from there...you take care and like I said Don't give up....camille01

I would have asked the granny,well what did you get banded for,I thought the cut-off age was limited....I think that would have closed her mouth...I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well,I havn't had my surgery yet but from what I have read that the weight the first week was water weight gain from the liquid diet that you guys are on so don't let that bother you,It will leave and you will be shocked as to how the weight will come off,,,,you take care....and have much luck with your band

Hi Melzie_99 Jus ta question to ask,What type of insurance do you have,I have Ghi and BCBS,my husband has it thruogh his Job and I am hoping to have every thing go quik like I see the way your has ,I've had my siminar on Dec 2nd andmy first appt. is on Jan 10th,thats to get I guess the reat of my info and to meet the neutri,and I think the doctor,I have started my 6 month diet prog.through my PCP and I have my refferel,Im just waiting to see what else I need to do,I know I have to go to 2 group meetings<i got the schedule for that,but its in Feb,still pushing things off,I am ready to start,and get started.......

We dont realize what we are giving up when we loose weight,Just think about it, For every 1Lb that we loose-we loose a 1Lb box of Butter thats 4 sticks, a 1Lb box of sugar,or even a 1Lb pkg of Cookies for some people that feels like a dream, Think about the Mcdonalds-what really weigh 1Lbs and I'm here to tell you, It will fell really good to get ride of all that junk in the trunk:D ,can you think of some things that weighs 1 Lb that you would like to get ride of and think of how many pounds you've lost and compair how many sticks of butter that you have gotten ride of,JUST THINK ABOUT IT,HOW MANY STICKS OF BUTTER YOU HAVE GOTTEN RIDE OF?

Hi Pamalamadingdong Maybe thats the hospitals procedures that with that type of surgery you are requires to stay the night,or maybe with the info that the doctor has is his or her file it would be good to let you stay there,I havn't had my surgery yet but with some insurances they require for you to stay,maybe you have blood pressure problems or maybe diebetes or any little thing,when I go for my surgery I would love to stay just to make sure htat every thing is ok andI get enough rest,If you are that persistant about Im quite sure that they will either let you know the reason or will make an acception to let you go home..either way good luck with every thing and keep us posted on your progress...and If you can please relax and get some needed rest because this is a surgery ,..you can bring your MP3 or even some of your ravorite things to do like cards or eletriconics for fun to keep your mind occupied...Just relax it will be ok ...my prayers are with you...Camille01

Hi there Pinkfisk,I am going through the same as you I am pre-surgery,I am going through the 6 month diet with my doctor(pcp)and just think I only have 1 month under my belt,I have a long way to go,I havn't went for my 1st appointment yet and dont even know if I'll be approved yet,my process havent even began ,so you are good,just go to your PCP and give the doctor the form and ask him to fill it out for november,they have your records and know your weight progress and he or she still may fill it out anyway,the old saying is (nuthin beats a failure but a try) so give it a try all they can say is no,or they mayeven do it for you.I'm just waiting,I finally have my first appt on Jan 10th so for me starting a new year as a new person I look at it as if I was given a lil more time to be me until I really have to do what need to be done...so go for it and goodluck.....

Hello,I am in the waiting stage too,I am not as far as you though, I went to my siminar and my 1st appointment is on Janurary 10th,so I know that it will be some time in the new yr before I will have my surgery done I understand what you mean by the stressfull waiting period,I wish you well but I think you need to call the Insurance company and put the fire under them, Just tell them that you have a surgery pending there desision and you want to know if they have come close to any answer as of yet,I hope everything turns out for the best,( its like a watch pot waiting to boil it won't happen while you are watching it ): it will happen when you take your mind off of it....good luck

On the average,How long does one have to wait till everything is accepted through the insurance until they actually get scheduled for there surgery,I kinda guess as to the time limit but im not positive, I hate waiting it brings on unwanted pressure and causes me headache..I know waiting is a part of life and the saying is if its worth having its worth waiting for.......

I really want to thank everyone for the encouragement and the hope that I can really go through this and I dont have to do it alone,now that I have really explained everything to my spouse he was kinda ok with it and he told me what ever I deside to do he will be here to walk beside me which ever way I go,that makes things so much easer to deal with and also having Friends like YOU all helps a bunch.....really it does,........Thanks camille01

Has any one had GHI and BCBS? I havn't went to any appt.yet but I have went to a siminar and got a lot of info and I called the dr. office and she had me to start a 6 month diet ,I am on my 2nd month with my supervised diet by the time I go to my office visit on the 10th of Janurary it will be my 3rd month and I also have my referal...the nurse made sure that I was ahead of myself in getting my stuff ready...

Laura71-When A drug user goes to rehab they have a fight on there hands to get off drugs,they get out and slide back into there old habits and reuse again,what you need to do is change your old habits so you don't slide back into it again,go a different route when you leave the house instead of driving by taco bell,and when you find yourself slipping back into old habits do something different,(when I tryed to quite smoking I bought a 2000 pc puzzle and that help me occupy my mind,)what I'm saying is find another friend to hang out with instead of Taco Bell and the other old friends that you had like Mcdonalds,don't forget they do sale salads and
