  3. I was shocked that NO One else posted something to help. Other than words of wisdom. Obviously the OP needs guide lines.
  4. I was sleeved in MX on 3/12/12 this is what I was given. Hope this helps and please treat your tiny tummy and do this so you don't have any serious issues. like a leak. Also I see my primary care for follow up here in the states. She just did my labs for me a few months ago. This was my post op diet Days 1-3 Clear liquids only Days 4-7 Clear liquids and drinkable yogurt Days 8-21 Clear liquids and full liquids Days 22-35 Clear liquids and soft foods. Liquids try to get in 48-64 oz Clear liquids: broth, penitential, diluted apple juice, Protein Water, Popsicle Full liquids: Protein shakes, creamy soups no chunks, (I blended chunky soup) Soft diet: oatmeal, toast, crackers, tuna, mashed potatoes, puree vegetables, cottage cheese, apple sauce. Days 1-7 only clear liquids fruit juice diluted 50/50 NO nectar's Gatorade Special K protein water Vitamin water water tea (herbal) clear broth Popsicle Days 7-21 Day 4-8 begin with drinkable yogurt 1/2 cup servings, with no pieces of fruit. Day 8-10 add liquid Protein to the regimen, at least 30 g of protein a day. Day 7-11 add creamy soups (no chunks) if you can't drink it don't eat it Week 4 Begin with soft foods 22-28 Tuna cottage cheese oatmeal apple sauce Ensure pudding puree veggies mashed potatoes Week 6: increase food as tolerates, chew thoroughly, eat slowly. No carbonated drinks Take small sops, don't chug. Use a tablespoon at first. Drink only what you can. Do not force feed. Do not take more than half a cup at a time. Meds should be cut up or mashed. Take your Vitamins each day. The idea is to not expand the stomach pouch. During the fist week, you will Not be physically hungry (careful with the mental hunger) If you feel lethargic, or very, weak, it's because you are dehydrated, call or email the nutritionist. Important changes: Never combine solids with liquids. Liquids should be taken one hour later after your meal. Suck on an ice cube if you are thirsty. No carbonated drinks. They can make your pouch stretch Avoid high calorie drinks, juices, frappuccinos, milkshakes, alcohol... or you won't be able to lose weight. Or you can easily "dump" Sit down for a meal and take at least 20 minutes for yourself. ( yes you will need 20 mins for 1/2 cup of food) Take small bites. CHEW!!!! 30 Chews per bite Avoid productive burping (P'bing) eating too fast and not chewing food properly, eating solid food too soon after the surgery, drinking liquids with the meals or right after eating, eating too much at a meal. If anything gets stuck, stop eating, wait for it to burp up and don't eat again. Resume your meal later. Eat three meals a day ( solids, no protein shakes) Each plate should have a serving of protein, green veggies, fruit and grain, and one serving of fat If you feel restricted in the morning, drink something warm prior top your Breakfast. If you do not exercise use a pedometer and take 10,000 steps a day. Resume with your exercise 3 weeks after your surgery.

    boyfriend

regardless of "step" Dad I don't even know why you would point that out and why would even want to settle for someone that wants only to be a STEP dad when their dad is not living. Your children deserve better. They deserve a dad that wants and accepts them 210% of the time. Ok on to you post. I would tell him if he doesn't have his card by ____ date then he has to stay home and your mom is going. I don't understand why woman try to mother the men they are with. Is he an adult? if he doesn't get his passport card can be go? Who's fault is it in the end? So just walk away.

    water aerobics

I have done it in the past prior to WLS and loved the classes. I just can't get there anymore as they cancelled the 5:30 am class and only offer a 8:30 one now

To tell, or not to tell?

I have told some people but very few as there are certain people I just don't want to know at all. I think you need to do what is good for you. I have found since I am 11 months out I do tell some people I come across. I sometimes feel guilty if I don't tell them and they talk about my weight loss a lot.

    too much protein?

I was told 60-120 g daily. To me that is a large range I get about 60-80 g. Being in ketosis for a long time is very hard on your kidneys and liver as they are the filter for your body. I would try to find a protein level where you are out of ketosis but still able to drop the lbs.

    Acidic stomach

I am 11 months out and still have to take Prilosec I have tried to stop it a few times and just can't kick it.
  12. I have been on Prilosec since surgery. I have tried to go off it a few time since surgery and just can't do it.
  13. deltadawn817

    Maybe you could help me.......

It doesn't last forever. Are you on a acid reducer? Also I couldn't drink anything COLD at all. it was painful. I drank everything at room temp, warm or hot. Does temp matter to you? Try to warm your drinks up a little. Also I could do Popsicle's but that was the only cold thing.

    Cost of post op diet?

No not at all. I can't believe how much money we have saved on FOOD OMG one less adult eating in the house saves a ton. As for my vitamins and protein drinks they are not a huge cost at all.

Anyone told NOT to do situps and crunches?

life long ban is the first time I have ever heard of that.
  16. It will stop but you will have to find something to replace that time with. Do you like to read? any hobbies you do or want to start. Try to fill your nap times with something or make a list of things for you to do when baby naps.

    B12 supplementation

patients take daily supplements. These include complete chewable or liquid multivitamins with iron twice a day, chewable calcium citrate (2000 mg) with vitamin (take separately from MVI with iron), and vitamin B12 (300 mcg sublingual) daily. These are my post op recommendations. I have been good with my B12 but when I just had Labs done my D is VERY low like single numbers low so I am taking a lot of that now and need to be rechecked in 3 months.

    hair loss

B12 Complex, get a good liquid one. You can get great sales on them. Even the elderly have hair loss due to lack of vitamin B. Once you start taking it you will notice a difference.
  21. deltadawn817

    leg aches

dehydration. try to drink more and if you can't get more water in you will need to supplement with some Gatorade.

    Petrified of Hair Loss! :-O

I would have to say the major cause of hair loss is going to go with hormone changes. I lost a ton of hair while pregnant and after the baby was born. When you lose weight your hormones got through many changes and during this time you will experience hair loss. Vitamins will also cause it too but I think the main vitamin to focus on is your B12. As we age this is a vitamin that we lack also just not with WLS so even the elderly need B12 and it will stop hair loss and promote growth. So please make sure you have a good liquid B12 complex. Liquid is better than dots that dissolve under your tongue.

    Hair loss

get your B up and your hair will stop falling out. I take Liquid B12 complex and love it. I buy it from Puritans pride it is their brand. I just had my levels checked late 10 month post op and they are great.

    Constipation HELL....P!

4-6 oz of apple juice does the trick for me. if that doesn't work Milk of Magnesia is the only other way that had worked for me when on pain meds.

When does hair stop falling out!

protein and Vit B will help. Even as we age Vit B will help with hair loss My grandmother started to have hair loss and it stopped as soon as she started taking B complex. I take Puritan's Pride B-12 1200 mcg liquid and it works great for me.
