  1. Hello all!

I am moving with my husband to Camp Pendleton in the middle of June (into housing not sure which though) and I am looking for any fellow bandster wives out there that might be interested in getting together. I am also looking for a workout buddy. I am getting back into running again after an unforeseen medical issue and am in week 2 of P90x. If you would like to get together let me know and we can connect of Facebook or something.

    HUGS!!

  2. today I had a great moment....I had an NSV on the scale. How is that possible? Our digital scale didn't weight anything over a certain weight. I hopped on it just for poops and giggles and it worked! There was no error message to make me feel like crap today and there will never be that day again. I havent been able to weight myself on our home scale in 3 years. Not only did I have that amazing NSV I was also down 3 more pounds. Such a great day!!

  3. Anyone have any tips for getting in and out of bed? I've set up a bunch of pillows to mimic a hospital bed for back support, but when I try to get back up out of bed, I strain my abs and it friggin hurts ! My incisions are still pretty fresh, only been banded about 24 hours. I'm assuming it gets better ?

for getting out of bed i had my husbands help for the first couple of days, but I didn't go into a laying down position when he wasn't home. I have a body pillow that works miracles. I doube it over and prop it under my lower back, and on about day four I could get out of bed on my own. Wasn't pretty and it still felt crappy but I was able to do it by myself. relax while you can, but it does get better.

  4. At times when I get really hungry I think I can feel my band. This morning I had that sensation. I was laying on my right side with my left arm out on my left side and I brought my arms together kinda compressing my rib cage and I felt like I could feel the band compressing my stomach. It was a really weird sensation. I don't know how to describe it because it didn't hurt. Does anyone else ever feel there band?

  5. I get up at 5am and don't get to bed most of the time until 10pm or later. I was told 3 small meals a day and no grazing, but I get hungry so I have a planned snack twice a day. Anyone who is farther along in your weight loss, do you do this or stick strictley to your 3 meals a day and how do you feel it has effected your weight loss?

  6. Hi all I am about a week pot-op and I have had an almost constant stitch on my left side. Other than that I am healing great. A little nausea here and there but nothing major. I was wondering if anyone else had ever had this issue after surgery and what it might possibly be. It is starting to affect my everyday activities. I have a follow up with my surgeon on thursday. thanks

  7. Hi all, I had my surgery for my band on wed. the 8th. I was following doctors instructions on eating. only liquid and 2-3 Protein Shakes a day to keep my energy up no Water 15mins prior and an hour after but I am starving. I woke up on friday morning at home from being extremely hungry .today I decided to try mushies with my fingers crossed and they went down (bananas and strawberries with yogurt) if it wasnt for the cpnstant stitch in my side I would have eaten more. I have been walking as much as my body is allowing as well. I am just hungry all the time. I am consuming about how many calories that I was on my pre-op diet between 1000 and 1200 a day. no matter what I eat though I am just so hungry. did anyone else have this problem right after surgery? I kept reading how after surgery you have this great restriction for a short while but I think that only lasted till I got out of the hospital. I dont want to stress my band by eating things that are to hard but I am just so hungry. any insite would be great! thanks in advance.

  8. I am not banded yet and i am not pregnant, I have read a ton of the post on here about people getting concerned about gaining weight during pregnancy. I understand that we all have issues with weight gain but you are supposed to gain weight when you are preggers. it's healthy. a ton of weight gain is not healthy but a little is fine. like i said i understand that everyone on this site for the most part has issues with weight gain, my question is why don't people understand that it's normal an healthy for pregnancy, and stop beating yourselfs up over it? I know this might sound come across as rude but its not i promise i am just curious.

  9. i have to side with everyone else on here. you are beating yourself up. you are doing a great job. as everyone else says this is not an easy process. most of the people who get this done have been overweight there whole lives. it takes more than a surgery to change habits. i totally get the drive through issues. i love me some arbys. every once and a while its ok to have something you want to eat just not all the time. I decided that once every 2 weeks i will have something small if i want it. you can't be expected to eat 100% healthy all the time. not even athletes and other thin people do that 24/7. so keep on truckin chikky :D

  10. I have kept a blog of my lap band journey thus far and I was looking at some of my old post and cam across a prayer I made that made me laugh and keep me going. I thought I would share it with you. Enjoy! :D

Please give me the strength to choose carrots over chips, the courage to munch celery over chocolate and good sense to know when to it's time to drink diet instead of fully loaded. Amen.

  11. This post might be a little TMI for some, but I'm on the pre-op diet and I am drinking a ton of crystal light. About a gallon a day, because I can't get myself to drink that much Water in a day. I feel like i'm forcing myself to throw up. Since I am only on liquid (liquid in, liquid out) the crystal light is turning my poop the color of the drink. I found this amusing and was wondering if anyone else was having an issue with this? I love crystal light but I'm afraid that it dieing my excriments might mean it's a little excess. Do you think I could have any issues because of the excess die?

  12. thats a touchy subject. i know how you feel kinda, my husband supports my choice for the surgery but he doesnt agree with it. i was in a program for the surgery about 2 years ago and he told me it was a big mistake and that I was just lazy and not trying hard enough. Also he was concerned about the trouble it might cause when it comes to having kids so i dropped out of the program. now i have really tried to lose the weight for him but i'm still here, so surgery here i come. I made it clear to him that this was what i needed and that i was going ahead with it and cleared his medical concerns for me but he still isn't a fan of it. So touchy subject all around and I'm married to my great guy. If you do tell him just make sure he knows how strongly you feel about it and thats who you are. In the long run guys can come and go, you have to make yourself happy. If he understands that then I say he's a keeper. good luck :D

  13. Hello there,

I am getting banded on December 15th. I am going to start the 2 week diet on Thursday. I am a little nervous about it because I have never eaten that little bit of food and styck with it. I know it is imperative that I do because they want to shrink the liver before surgery...

Lawd! this is going to be hard.

But I am on my way to a new me, so I am going to put 110% into this 2week liver shrinking diet. Good luck to all of you December bandsters.

    :D

you will do fine, i'm on it right now and the first day was really hard and painful but now its alot better. i have lost 10lbs in the first 3days. it sucks but its worth it.
