  1. Wow that weight loss to me is awesome!!! I'm getting ready for revision and I don't remember losing a thing close to that in so short of time.

Reading those that have lost 17-20lbs a month scares me a little actually, even though I know for surgery it could be a person short term normal. I've never lost that much so quickly. You sound be proud of yourself.

  2. So I was in the timeline section and was reading that at least a good handful of the men have had issues with losing to much weight. As a women I know it is harder for us to lose weight with or without the surgery. Our bodies just work differently. Are there any veteran band to bypassers that have had that problem?

Both my husband and I are nervous I will lose to much with the bypass. Everything i have read has stated that bypass is more for extreme weight loss but with the band I lost over 100lbs and really only have about 60lbs more to lose but I know I can't just go without any help. The bypass is my surgery of choice due to my reflux issues.

  3. When I got the phone call that I was approved I was at work and I started crying in the hallway i was trying to hide in. This time when the surgeon said he would do my revision I was speechless. My husband had to answer for me lol. I have moment where I get stupid giddy. It changes your whole life and it's an amazing ride to be on.

    I'm so happy for you

  4. So I know I am getting my bypass revision, found out last Friday. The three weeks before I was going to the seminar and nutrition classes and support groups and doctors appointment and getting poked with needles, you know all that pre-op qualification stuff. Now I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs and waiting, waiting for a sleep study, waiting for the upper GI and pre-op appointment. I have to just wait weeks and while I am lucky to know that I am getting my revision I feel like I need to be helping along the process. I know I'm just bitchin but I'm impatient lol

  5. A totally TMI subject but I'm curious....I have issues being regular since I had my band placed in 2010 and have to take Miralax to help things along. Since the bypass messes directly with that process moreso then the band I was wondering how the poop process goes. Does anyone have to help things along or is it easier, does it change the farther out from surgery you get?

    Thanks peeps

  6. Hey all!

I was banded Dec 2010 and lost 160lb (350-190) making it to my goal weight ( I'm 6'1.5"). Had to have my band removed in Feb of 2015 and the surgeon who took it out said he wouldn't qualify me for a sleeve because he didn't think I needed it. Well a year and a lot of stressors later I gain almost 79lbs back and my new surgeon has approved me for a bypass due to reflux and my shown propensity to regain the weight. I have an upper GI (May 6th) and a sleep study (April 23) to do and I will know my surgery date! I am so nervous but finally ready to have something permanent to help me with the life I deserve for me and my family. Can't wait to share my continued journey with you all and read about your journey in the process

  7. You should be trying to get all 1200 calories in. Just because we had weightloss surgery doesn't mean we should be starving our body of fuel. especialy if you are working out. medically its a concern about your body starting to shut down and hold onto everything it can get. On days that I run I up my calories to take in 1200 even with the work out deficet. As your body builds muscle from your working out you will start seeing more weight loss. Also make sure you are drinking enough Water.< /sub>

I think as a community we get so caught up in eating as little possible we forget what our body really needs to run properly, especally for those of us who areworking out all the time post-op.

  8. well i hope your knee isn't to bad off. As for pulling yourself up into the saddle, you have taken a step in the right direction with this surgery. Don't let who you were get in the way of who you are becoming. if you have to use the step stool for now to get up there its just one more goal to meet in the long run. Keep your head up hun :)

  9. since you are working out now, you are going to start gaining muscle. muscle weighs more then fat so as you lose the fat and start gaining the muscle you will see your weightloss slow even though the inches are comming off. I am at this point now. The muscle you are building will start helping with weight loss since muscle tissue burns more calories.

I do hide the scale for about a month at a time. I keep a close eye on what I am eating and make sure I stick to my workout schedual. It is far less frustrating that way. Also Water is key, I know the average we are told is 6-8 glasses a day but it really does very on weight and height. I drink about 4 liters a day. here is a link to a good calculator to find out how much you should be drinking. It could help restart your weight loss. http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm If you want to see a down fall on the scale also try veriing your calorie intake a little here and there. calculate how many calories you should be having in a week and one day maybe eat 1000 and another day eat 1400. just concentrate on the week as a whole.

    good luck :D
