Anxiety Sufferers Pre and Post op
I am preop but do have anxiety and also think too much! I don't know if losing weight in itself will help but I know losing weight will allow me to get back outdoors for a good hike on the weekend or exercising in general which greatly helps my anxiety.

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
Alright December Sleevers, I'm hoping that this title brings more people in so we can follow and encourage each other through our journeys. I am 40. I'm 5'4" and about 308 right now. I'd like to get to a healthy BMI which would be around 145. I'm hoping for a December 4th or 5th date with Dr. William Johnson. Everyone introduce yourselves! Recumbant bikes
They are good for reducing pressure, just make sure to increase resistance to make it a good workout. I did not have pain at the time I used then at the Y, randomly, but found I got the least workout on it. I don't think the elliptical is as hard on the knees as a treadmill. There isn't any pounding and that is definitely a workout.

December Sleevers?
- what should I get before surgery?
- Between a rock and a hard place
You can also post on care.com for a childcare exchange where you offer to trade off childcare. Honestly, it will be hard to find someone if you are unable to pay.- December Sleevers?
I'm hoping for the 4th or 5th! Would be neat to have the same date!- Between a rock and a hard place
- I get sleeved in december! Yaaaa!
Come join us over here: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/95608-december-sleevers/page__st__20#entry1019552 It's under the December 2013 forum. There are several of us over there and we can make a big group!- I get sleeved in december! Yaaaa!
I'm hoping for Dec 4th or 5th. I'm self pay, so have a little bit more flexibility.- I get sleeved in december! Yaaaa!
Congrats! Join us in the "December Sleevers?" thread!- Georgia Sleevers
Congrats! I hope you are and continue to do well!- Let's talk taxes!
How about this morning? Anyone out there with some information on specifics of what we can include when filing taxes?- Let's talk taxes!
Hi Folks! I know we can write off our expenses after we surpass 10% of our income in medical expenses. I would like to hear specifically what you have written off on your taxes? Other than the surgery, doc visits and medications, I have seen Protein drinks/powders listed as ok to write off. What else? Anything I buy for the surgery? Heating pads? FitBit? I have never used a tax person before and I don't personally know one. I'd rather not spend the money on one. We always ending up owing taxes (however, no clue why). When I was single and rented, I always got back $600-800. After getting married and owning a house, we have owed every year even though we put single and 0 for dependents on our W-4 and have the max taken out of our paychecks. Thanks so much!- Georgia Sleevers

I've already had my gallbladder removed so I will be saying hiatal hernia repair. However, having had my gallbladder removed for over a year now, it would be safe to use that excuse and say as a result your having to eat a bland diet which in turn is causing weight loss and since you were unintentionally losing weight, you thought you'd make the mist if it and up your exercise!- Titus Duncan in Atlanta
It also says that the price doesn't include anesthesia and aftercare.- Georgia Self pay
I'm using Dr. William Johnson out of Emory Johns Creek, Atlanta Bariatrics. $18,500 and includes 6 months of followup. He's more expensive than some others I've seen posted, but I feel very comfortable with him and like the Emory name attached to it. I've seen others post about Dr. Titus Duncan and I think he is less expensive.- Stomach H. pylori bacteria
Found out I can go to Any Lab Test and get an H. pylori test without a doctor's orderas a walk-in for $92. So glad I don't have to wait another month to get checked!- December Sleevers?
Yay, I passed my psych eval! All that's left is upper GI and ekg. Love crossing things off the list!- Stomach H. pylori bacteria
Great! i hope I can get all the tests done and start treatment asap in november when my insurance kicks in!!- Stomach H. pylori bacteria
Thanks so much. I wasn't too worried about the hair loss afterwards but I'm more worried now because it is already coming out. I absolutely will bring it up, directly. I do have testing orders from the surgeon for H. pylori so I definitely will be tested. My insurance doesn't cover the surgery so I am self pay. But I'm waiting for the insurance to kick in to cover the upper GI and EKG that I need. Due to me already having issues, I feel my PCP can order the tests based on my last year of intestinal issues and get them covered. I just hate waiting another month. It will be great (sort of) if I do have h. pylori so I can get it treated!! I will print out the study from the NIH and bring along so hopefully she will feel compelled to agree with the Iron infusion before my surgery. Would be awesome if intestinal issues AND fatigue went away! I don't nap at all but am just tired. Looks like November might be a busy month before the surgery in (hopefully) December. - what should I get before surgery?
