December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
I'm going to buy a few different drinks but with so many people saying that the ones they liked before surgery, they didn't like them after surgery, I'm not going to try a bunch. This is my plan: Unjury Chicken broth, an unflavored, some individual Isopure ready to drinks, Premier Protein choclate ready to drink and then some Gatorade. Hopefully, something in that variety will help. I'm hoping that if nothing else, I can do the unflavored powder in the Gatorade.

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
Lord no! Lol I will give up sodas in plenty of time (and slowly to avoid the headaches) and I will do a self-imposed 3 day liquid diet prior to surgery, but that's it! lol I feel afterwards, sticking to the liquid diet should be way different than trying to do it beforehand with the regular sized stomach. Fortunately I will not have a preop diet. I don't know that I could handle that. I have no fears of following everything strictly afterwards, though. I'm definitely a rule-follower! Are you planning on starting early or trying to gather opinions before you decide?

My horrific JorneyI
But everyone is different. I had my gallbladder removed and couldn't stand up straight for 2 weeks. Lortab is like an M&M to me. Dilaudid helped me a little in the hospital WITH Toradol but did not make me loopy, fuzzy or take away my pain.

So exciting! I think it will be here pretty quickly! Will you get to enjoy Thanksgiving or will you be drinking your way through the day?

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
I had my gallbladder out last year and it was awful! Unfortunately the usual pain meds don't work for me. I'm assuming this will be similar since they are both laparoscopic and little holes and a bigger hole...etc. Hopefully they will understand and maybe I can spread my work out throughout the day instead of trying to sit for 4 straight hours. Who knows, hope for the best and expect the worst, right?!!

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
I am jealous of ANYONE having any time off from work! I have 2 part time jobs. One job, I only do twice a week and I know I will be able to take a week off from that (2 days). The other job, I work from home at the computer 4 hours a night 5 nights a week. I'm hoping ot have surgery on a Thursday and I'm going to have to try really hard to start back to work by Monday night, if not Sunday. Eek!

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
I'm sure you'll do great! So nice that you'll have some recovery time! The skin issue has so many factors such as how long you've been overweight, genetics and age in general. I know for a fact that my skin will be a mess; however, I do terrible with surgeries so I will live with it. Plus, I'm 40, have an amazing husband (pretty cute too) and he loves me now like this, I'm sure he'll love me wrinkley too! If I were younger and dating, I KNOW i'd be a lot more concerned! Welcome to the group! Looking forward to following along!

December Sleevers?
I've only been on meds for reflux since June 2012 after I had my gallbladder removed. I had "spitting up" issues randomly before that. Surgeon said it could be a hiatal hernia which he would fix at the time of surgery if I did. I've just seen where some say they had ulcers that they were unaware of and needed bypass instead. I am soooo not okay with having a bypass! I'm not dwelling, though. Wishful thinking going into it!
